(Enkai's POV)

(3rd POV)
The world is split in 2 or perhaps both existing at the same time, called the other world, the residents of the other world are all aware of the main world and were each born with abilities. A person without abilities yet residing in the otherworld is a cripple who is destined to have no place here
A young adolescent boy with white hair, red tips and dull, dark green eyes, his back hunched at a computer where he had fallen asleep laughing at the dreams he once held dear to him which he now finds retarded at best
Again in that dream, as was a common occurrence for the past 11 years he saw a boy in the dream, one so beautiful he could be mistaken for a fairy. Every night since he was pronounced a cripple, he suffered chronic insomnia as if a blessing from the heavens every night he saw that boy in his dream, he would sleep well, though he always considered it a foolish trick being played on him by his imagination, he simply didn't want to admit he was truly alone in this world
As he sunk deeper into his thoughts another young man excitedly bursts into his room chattering with the fomer paying little to no attention and latter proceeded to drag him out of the house
As the two walked together, side by side the former started to speak
Enkai: "Hey..have you ever thought on how different life would be if just one thing changed, if that first union leader had revealed himself to the other world, if the other world recalled the first calamity, if both of us had gotten abilities, if one of us didn't exist, for one, maybe you wouldn't have to deal with a person as defective as me ho-"
Ikki: "Don't waste your time degrading yourself like that, I don't and neither should you, none of those things matter because they're just what-ifs.."
Enkai: "You're right, nothing's gonna change by thinking like that. I'll just focus on my treatment I guess.."
Ikki seemed to be satisfied with that response and they continued their walk with brief pauses of silence and small talk in between, that sort of atmosphere had never once before bothered them since they were only truly comfortable with each other
School was the same as always for Enkai, namely- being bullied and degraded and having his twin brother come save him, he found it mildly infuriating
At the end of school after being forced to listen to Naoko's degrading speech and watching the destruction of his personal property, Enkai proceeded to fish out his phone, silently cursing Naoko under his breath
Enkai: "He really couldn't destroy anything else, my bus card was on it...even that overgrown sperm thinks he's better than me now. Geez.."
As he walked home alone, being unable to find his brother, he decided to just go ahead of him
As he walked around, taking in the the area for the first time in a while, he noticed a small fortune telling stall that hadn't been there before, as he walked in he took note of some things, the room was dimly lit, seemingly sparsely furnished but anyone who spent hours mindlessly scrolling through the internet would know just how expensive it was and in the middle of it all was a boy, about his age, with blonde hair and bright emerald eyes that seemed to fit right in with the overall aesthetic of this place
He had an uncanny resemblance to the boy in his dreams and for a moment his heart stopped
He made him aware of his presence through a calm greeting, his voice seemed to melt all his annoyance away
"Welcome. What service would you like to request?"
Taking into consideration the fact he currently had neither a lot of cash nor time, picked a short palm reading. His finger trailed Enkai's palm while he seemed to be in a strange state of focus, this was getting a bit too weird and decided to take his leave
As he got ready to leave, the strange boy looked up at him and began to speak
"If you're going to live with such bitterness you might as well die, your greatest burden is your own existence, yet, you continue to push forward despite your inner reluctance, but due to that restriction no matter how much effort you put in, it yields no result, don't worry poor soul, god has taken pity on you.."
He didn't say anything else after that and also refused to receive payment, as he walked away from that place he had a strange pain in his chest and refused to think more about it.
The problem is after meeting with that boy, he was unable to sleep anymore he would lay awake at night staring at the ceiling with only one thought in his head, 'I want to hangout with the fairy today..'
As he searched for ways to get to sleep, he stumbled upon something called 'lucid dreaming ' , and decided to try it out, after all it's not as if normal sleep works, and maybe he can finally have a proper conversation with the dream fairy where he can respond to him

He laid on his bed after following the instructions written there, and slowly drifted off into sleep
Unfortunately for him though what he saw in his dream was not the beautiful boy, but one of the bullies in school who lived nearby, even in a dream, he was nothing more than a punching bag
'I hate this...why do I have to take this crap even in my mind.'
Frustrated, Enkai punched him in the face, and continued to hit him even when he was down, there was blood everywhere, but why should he care,
"After all, it's just a dream.." he mumbled with a smirk on his face
As he awoke next day, despite sleeping through the night and most of the morning, he felt tired, he walked into the kitchen to see his father and brother speaking in hushed tones
'How strange', he thought. Their father was am executive of the Union and hardly had time to be home, confused he asked what happened
Ikki: "You know that guy who lives three doors down?"
Of course he did, how could he not remember the face of the guy he spent all night beating up
Taro (Dad): "His parents came to wake him up in the morning, but there was no response, he wasn'tmoving, his breathing was unnoticeable, and he had injuries everywhere. They just rushed him off to the hospital.."
As he heard those words multiple thoughts ran through his mind but one thing stood clear among them all
'There's no way right? It was just a dream..'
"Oh fuck....what kind of luck is this." *He muttered, receiving a confused look from Ikki
He immediately rushed out of the house, his destination? The fortune telling guy, maybe he knew something about this
He arrived, luckily the boy was still there, packing up the stall
'Ah, you've arrived Enkai, how about we finally introduce ourselves. It would be embarrassing to say we've known eachother for 11 years and neither of us knew the other's name, well I know yours so thats even ruder."
Enkai: "So you were the kid from my dream..I see. I'm Enkai Uraomote, glad to finally talk to you."
"Now that you're here in person I've totally forgotten my super cool introduction...haa, my name's Kousei. Didn't you come here to find out about something?"
Enkai: "Why is that guy actually injured? It was just a dream right..?"
Kousei: "It's your ability as it's more commonly called. That day, the heavens took pity on you and blessed you."
Enkai didn't know what to say, he simply stared at him while he gave him a smile
Kousei: "I consider you to be very dear to me, so I'll make you a proposition, come to eternal paradise, come to Salem. You'll receive the reverence you want more than anything."
Enkai just realised, 'am I...being invited to a cult?" No wonder he spoke so much of the heavens and god..
But another thought came to mind, why should he reject, there was no reason to, to him this life of his was ruined beyond repair and so he took the boy's hand.
And at that moment, his younger brother burst in
Ikki: "There's no way I'm letting my brother join some shady cult!"
Kousei: "but it isn't your choice, is it? It gives off the feeling you're being controlling of your brother under the pretence of being worried."
He was at a loss for words and Enkai thought of speaking up for him
Ikki: "If he's joining, I'm joining as well!"
Rika: "Welcome to Salem then! There is a requirement for you to be an official member though, I'd like to request of you Ikki, you join The Union as a spy."
Enkai: "Such a direct request.."
Ikki: "How is she already asking us favours..?"
Kousei: "But you'll need another another ability to properly fulfill your duty as my knight, Enkai..."
He seemed deep in thought and said "How would you like 'Master of the Sword'."
He nodded his head frantically
Ikki: "Is it that easy to get an ability...isn't this super suspicious?"
Kousei: "That was a joke, how the hell are you so naive."
Enkai almost shed a tear
