Every once in a while, Tina dreams of her past life, and it becomes the highlight of her day. Those dreams give her hope to keep moving forward and not to lose herself. Usually she is woken up in her dream by a fellow slave and is then scolded for being a lazy bitch. But currently, sitting in front of the man that she used to refer to as Adui, she didnt know what was happening. According to her, if this was a dream, then this was the shittest thing that she had ever expirenced. If this were not so, she would not understand what was happening.
So this guy is not Adui. Is he someone named Harry? She didnt know what to make of the information.
"Remember the deal, girl," the man sitting in front of her said. "You ask me questions. I answer them truthfully. You do the same,"
Maybe the dialect of the Heks is confusing me, Tina thought. She then exhaled and asked, "How.. You here? In body of Adui?"
The man shrugged, "Dont know, girl. Dont care. I am here, that is what matter. I live in this now." He said while gesturing towards his body.
"How. Do Tina know, you lie not?" She asked.
Harry smiled. "You dont. Me and you.." He then formed a chain with his hands, "A chain. You need me, I need you. I help you, you help me,"
What does this guy need my help with? She thought. But his words were raising some hope in her, which was a very dangerous thing.
It was pretty clear to her that he was not after her body. The thought of him spinning a very elaborate ruse did come to her mind, but then she remembered that she was in the Heks right now. These people dont have the kind of brain that could spin such an elaborate tale. And even if they could, what would even prompt them to make it up for her? She was a nobody.
"What Harry want?" She questioned. Because she was to even consider getting into a partnership with the man, she needed to know exactly his intentions.
With a serious look, he replied, "Information." One word.
"What?" she couldnt understand, what information could she have that he would want?
"About Heks. About pale men. About Vis. About every Vulcan. About every tribe," Tina still couldnt understand what he really wanted to know, but then everything started to make sense.
She found it weird that Adui never really told anyone about him getting a Status Window. It was a very celebrated affair, even in the normal society. She never even considered the fact that maybe Adui told anyone because he didnt know how big of a thing this was for the Heks.
The fact that he is known to carry every weapon on hunting, the unconventional exercises, and most importantly, his bizarre behavior. No one likes coming up the rock, especially the kids, because they think less of the slaves. They think that they would start smelling bad like the slaves if they stayed up there, but Harry had been practically living up there.
If this was true, and Harry just wanted information, Tina wanted to know exactly she could get in return, "What Harry offer.. In return,"
"Life. Freedom. Your choice," Just like that, he offered her something that she had been yearning for the past two years.
"Not easy.. Tina's freedom," She quickly added, as she knew that even Adui could not guarantee her freedom.
Harry shrugged, "We kill Vulcans. You get your freedom,"
This again, Tina thought. How can he be so sure that he would be able to kill all the Vulcans? Is he that powerful?
She knew that currently, he was not that powerful. He might be able to hold off his grounds against some of the hunters; even then, he would have a very hard time. The only way that he could hold against a normal Vita Wieders was when they had depleted their Vita. But as far as Protectors are concerned, they are the Vulcans who have fought with the Gorgon soldiers. There is no way that he would be able to hold his ground against them.
"You think I dont have the power to kill," he simply said, as if he had the power to read her mind.
She didnt even try to deny it, her silence was the answer that spoke a thousand words. Harry then further added, "I will kill them. Or die trying. But, if you make you at ease.. I have a different proposition. I will give you your freedom first. In return, you provide me with whatever you can."
Tina raised her eyebrow, "How?"
He smiled. "Festival of Champions. I go, you go with me. I kill Vulcan with me, set you free,"
Tina thought about it, and the deal was really appealing. She knew that out in the plains, she would be killed in an instant. But she knew how Heks operated, their powders and concoctions that could help her. If she plays her cards right, she could truly escape and get to the wall. She knew that it was highly likely that she would be ravaged by some beast before she could even get a single glance of the wall. But still, it was worth giving a shot.
"What Tina need to do?" To which Harry smiled, making her rethink whether this was truly a good idea…
