They have noticed my presence, Harry thought.
He had noticed that from time to time, many blue armor guys were looking towards him. But the good thing was that they didn't seem to be paying any heed to him, and instead were busy with their own things. From what he saw, they were busy setting fire to anything around the sacred dome. Why they were doing such a thing was beyond him.
Harry observed them for a few minutes, but then he noticed something weird. Some blue-armed people appeared from the sacred dome, dragging behind four of their comrades. The blue armored soldiers being dragged, who had been handcuffed, looked as if they were criminals.
After the criminals were loaded on the plane, everyone retreated, and before he knew, the plane had lifted off…
Harry didnt waste any time and started running towards the Agora. Within a minute, he was able to reach the settlement, only to see the carnage that the blue armored people had left behind.
He saw people from different tribes, women, children, and the old alike, slaughtered like animals, lying everywhere. Based on some of the bodies he saw, it was very hard to figure out what happened there. Most of the bodies were charred beyond recognition, and only through the kind of clothes and size was he able to determine what anyone was.
Harry eventually made his way towards the sacred dome, which now lay in ruins. As he stepped inside, he saw ruined skulls of various creatures, weapons, various pots, and wares lying around. He also spotted some Essence Stones lying in the corner, covered in dust, but they didnt interest him.
He spotted some remains of the books, but they were all destroyed as well.
What was the point that those armored guys were trying to make? Were they trying to destroy evidence? Or were they here to eradicate or rescue someone? He knew that they surely were not there to kill everyone from Agora. Otherwise, they wouldn't have spared him.
And then there was this big hole in the middle of the sacred dome.
Harry realized that there seemed to be an underground section of the sacred dome. He didnt know what was down there, or how deep it went. He just knew that something important must have been there, as the whole hole was on fire.
The flames being emitted from the hole were very intense, more than enough to destroy anything down there.
The answers that I was looking for.. It seems that they are not here anymore. He thought, as there was nothing left in the place.
Still like a scavenger, Harry looked around, trying to see whether there was something useful in the place. His eyes scanned everything that could be useful to him. He found some burned skulls of various beasts, including Watsumono and the Glowing Horse, as well. And it was while walking around did he came across a corpse that made Harry stop in his tracks.
The body was charred to the core, and it seemed to be wearing a very familiar skull mask on her head.
Harry had no intention to scan the Grand Priestess' body; his eyes were automatically going through everything present here. It was sheer coincidence that his eyes scanned her body, only to find something peculiar.
There was a metal mass in her stomach that got flagged by his scanners. Curious, Harry used his hunting knife to carve open the stomach of the woman.
The ring was in immaculate condition. It was made of this light, bluish silver material; it was smooth to the touch, but his scans showed that there were several small runes etched on the surface of the ring. The runes were microscopic in nature, and one could not be able to see them if they didnt have special eyes like him.
So this world has tech to create a flying ship, and has tech to do microscopic engraving as well? Harry was really surprised; he never expected that this world would have technology like that.
Also, this thing's whole surface was full of runes. But for what purpose?
Harry knew that runes were used by hexers to cast to command Vita. How, that was beyond Groga. Even Tina didnt have any idea about how runes worked. As he didnt have any idea about the ring, he pocketed the thing and started looking around.
But it is then a transparent silhouette of a transparent bird that came out of nowhere and entered his chest.
"Adui, Imka has rebelled. He had killed Groga in a duel and had murdered Gremla as well. Now they are looking for you. It would be for the best if you dont ever come home now," The message took just a second to be registered. And Harry was left aghast.
Those.. Fucking, fuckers! Harry cursed. You know what, this is my fault. I should have taken care of them. I should not let this stretch for this long.
It was nighttime, and Harry was currently surrounded by dead bodies. He knew that he couldnt stay there for long, there is a good chance that wild beasts might be attracted to the scent of blood and carnage. He cannot even go back, so he is now stuck. He had the tools and expertise to stay out the night, but it wouldn't be safe.
"DORA!!" A voice broke the silence. "CAN YOU HEAR ME! DORA!"
Curious, Harry made his way out of the sacred dome, ducking and crouching through carnage. He eventually came across the source of the voice, a child barely older than five. She looked scared, was covered in dirt and ash, and surely didnt belong there.
With an arrow nocked on his bow, Harry came out, "Oi!" The child was startled and fell down.
He then ran up to her, "What are you doing here? Are you hurt somewhere?"
The child, clearly scared, didnt answer, just stared at him. "Come on, child. There is no one left alive," he said. "Come on, we need to go right now."
Harry then put his hand forward. The child didnt move at first, but slowly raised her hand and grabbed his finger gently. The way her grip felt on her finger, Harry suddenly felt a deja vu. Some memories came rushing back, memories that he would rather stay buried at the back of his mind.
"Dora." The child said while standing. "We need to save him. He is right here, I know,"
Harry didnt pay attention to her words, he grabbed and raised her in his arms. "We need to get out of here, fast."
The child protested, as she wanted to save Dora. But he didnt listen, he started making his way outside the barrier.
