Cherreads

Chapter 6 - little sister.

Raghavan's Hut – Evening

As the sun began to set, everyone in the household got busy with their evening chores. Don't ask me what those chores actually are—even I don't know.

Outside the hut, I was lying comfortably on a charpai—a traditional woven bed made with four wooden legs and interlaced rope. Beside me, Sania was happily playing in the mud, as children often do.

Meanwhile, my daily responsibilities had apparently expanded. Not only was I expected to stare at the ceiling all day, now I had to stare at the sky too.

"Waa~" a soft sound escaped from my mouth.

Wait a minute… how could I forget?!

I had completely forgotten to test the cheat powers granted to me by the "All-Knowing," the "Creator," the—uh… well, I forgot the rest.

Apologies, dear God. I promise, once I'm able to move properly, I'll build a shrine and pray daily... maybe.

So, the first cheat on my list: Immortality.

Wait a second... that might actually explain a few things.

Maybe that's why I never feel hungry.

Maybe that's also why I can't fall asleep at all.

Tch. I guess I'll save a lot of money on food in the future, but what on earth do I do about the sleep issue?

The most troublesome part is that I still get tired, and my brain never shuts off. It just keeps running endlessly.

At this point, my brain must be like one of those old Nokia phones—indestructible and always running.

[Invincible].

Just kidding—don't take it too seriously.

Now, onto the second ability: Infinite Energies.

There are supposedly many types of mystical energies—Shakti, Tejas, and others I can't even name right now, though I know they exist.

Out of all of them, "Shakti" seems to be the most special, and surprisingly, I can actually feel it. The others… not so much—at least not for now. Maybe it's because I'm still a child. The energies are there, but I can't access them yet.

I suspect some form of meditation or yogic practice might be needed to sense and control them. Still, for some reason, "Shakti" comes naturally to me.

And now, for the final and most intriguing ability—the one that always arrives fashionably late in every hero's journey: All Creation.

Maybe I should rename it to Creation of All Things? Hmm… too long. Let's stick with "All Creation."

But how am I supposed to use it?

Then I remembered my wish...

Flashback:

"The type of ability where I can create anything I imagine, anything I know or think of—even its inner workings should function exactly as I picture them. Is something like that possible?"

Yes. That must be it.

Step One: Feel the "Shakti."

Almost instantly, my entire body began to feel light—as if something divine was flowing through me. My mind felt on the verge of enlightenment. A warm sensation spread throughout me, and a soft white light bathed my tiny body, like a heavenly glow shining down.

And yet... no enlightenment came.

Maybe I'm just not that bright...

Step Two: I raised my tiny hand and focused.

I really concentrated, but then a question popped into my mind:

What should I create first?

Ah! I decided.

Step Three: Choose the first creation.

As I focused my energy, my little hand began to tremble. It felt as if something was pouring out of me, and suddenly—plop!—a small, flat, round object with a brownish-black color fell onto my face and then tumbled onto the charpai.

"Ohhh! What is that?"

Fu—(censored). I got caught. Not by an adult—but by a little brat. Then again… maybe that's a good thing. At least it wasn't a grown-up.

"Woo wahh wok," I babbled, pointing toward the cookie-like object I had just created.

"For me?" Sania asked, pointing to herself with wide, curious eyes.

She hesitated at first, but then gently picked it up without taking a bite.

Good girl.

"Is it for eating?" she asked sweetly.

I nodded.

"Well, if it's from you, then I'll try it," she said with a trusting smile. She sniffed it cautiously before opening her mouth and taking a small bite from the edge.

And then—

"Woooowwaaawooo!"

Did she just master my baby language by eating a cookie?! That's a disgrace to babies everywhere. Our language is supposed to be sacred and hard to understand!

"So twaswy!" (So tasty!)

She quickly took another bite, then finished the whole thing in no time. Afterward, she turned to look at me again—this time with the expression of someone silently begging for more.

"Wowa waw wi wiwe wu," I said with dramatic flair, activating my "Creation" skill again.

This time, a new cookie appeared in my hand—bright pink and strawberry-flavored.

"Ohhh, this one's a different color!" Sania exclaimed with delight as she gobbled up the pink cookie in a single bite.

Then, without warning, she gently wrapped her arms around me in a soft hug. "You're the best sister ever… my little Smally!"

...Maybe I shouldn't have given her that cookie.

Wait a second—I'm the older one here! Just because I look like a baby doesn't mean I'm not the elder in this relationship. No more cookies unless she starts treating me with proper seniority!

"Should I tell Mama about this?" she asked, tilting her head with pure innocence.

Hnnnng—what an adorable little creature. So considerate.

"Uww wuu," I murmured with a tiny shake of my head.

"No? Okay! But you have to give me more. I won't tell Mama now… maybe later."

Huh?!

What a sly little thing! She's basically blackmailing me with cookie tax!

"Hmwuwuw…" I nodded in defeat, sealing my fate.

"Okay! Pinky promise!" she said seriously, raising her pinky. "And remember—anyone who breaks a pinky promise will wet their bed!"

...To which I responded by casually extending my middle—ahem—a completely censored, totally innocent baby gesture.

Sania burst into laughter. "That's not how pinky promises work, silly!"

What a ridiculous, clueless little gremlin… but she's kind of cute, too.

"Sania, dinner's ready! Bring Kaira in," Mother called from the kitchen.

"Okay, Mama!" Sania chirped as she picked me up with all the elegance of a baby elephant and waddled us both toward the hut.

And just like that… my second day in this world came to a close.
