Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

- The Other Side of the Mirror-

Selene's POV — Vision Chapter

Selene lay motionless in her chamber, Kael resting in the bed across from hers, bandaged and asleep.

She stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep.

Not because of fear.

But because something inside her was pulling.

A call she couldn't ignore.

The moonlight from the window shifted, turning unnaturally bright—white, glowing, like it pulsed with life. The runes along her arms burned, not painfully—but with purpose.

And then everything went silent.

---

The world faded.

Selene found herself standing barefoot in a field of dying lavender.

The sky was gray.

Ash fell like snow.

And in the distance, she saw a little girl—around eight years old—with golden eyes identical to her own, crouched beside a wolf's body.

> "Don't leave me," the girl sobbed, hugging the bloodied fur. "You said we'd run away…"

Selene stepped forward, heart hammering.

"Lilith?"

The child didn't hear her.

A man approached behind the girl—tall, furious, wearing the Moonborn crest.

"You cursed brat," he snarled, yanking Lilith by the arm. "He died because of you!"

Selene froze.

Was that… their father?

"Stop!" the child cried, eyes glowing faintly.

The man raised his hand to strike her—

But something snapped.

The vision blurred.

Time jumped.

Now Lilith was older—fourteen maybe—trapped in a cage of silver, bloodied and chained, while the Moonborn elders stood above her.

"She's unstable," one said. "She killed a pup in training."

"She's a danger to the pack," another murmured.

"But she's chosen, isn't she?" a third asked. "Her eyes burn like the prophecy."

Selene's throat tightened.

Lilith didn't cry.

She just stared through the bars.

> "You called me a curse before I ever became one."

---

Time shifted again.

Lilith now stood in front of the Moon Goddess's temple, hands trembling, an offering in her palms—moonstones, herbs, blood.

She prayed.

> "Please," Lilith whispered. "Take this from me. I don't want to become what they say I am."

The temple stayed silent.

No voice.

No vision.

No warmth.

Only silence.

And slowly…

Lilith's face hardened.

> "Then I will become it. Not because I chose it… but because you did."

She turned her back on the temple.

Selene's chest felt crushed.

All this time, she'd thought Lilith was power-hungry. Evil. Corrupted.

But what she saw wasn't a villain.

> It was a sister unloved. Unbelieved. Left behind.

---

The vision snapped.

Selene gasped as she sat upright in bed, drenched in sweat, her heart pounding.

Kael stirred. "Selene?"

She didn't answer.

Her thoughts were spiraling.

"She didn't fall into darkness…" Selene whispered.

"She was pushed."
