Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Don’t Go Too Far

"You said what?" Ye Xinglan's first reaction to Gu You's words wasn't anger, but a stomp of embarrassment.

"I said what's wrong? I'm giving you face, you can go ask around about me, Gu You's reputation."

"Stop fighting, okay!" Xu Lizhi saw this and felt it was all his fault. Inside, he decided never to run off like this again.

"Let's go, just you wait!" Ye Xinglan angrily pulled Xu Lizhi away — maybe she pulled too hard, because Gu You could still hear Xu Lizhi yelling 'ow ow ow' as they left.

"You're as shameless as ever," Gu Yue passed by Gu You with a sideways glance.

"No choice, I can lose in strength, but I can't lose in words, right?" Gu You sighed thick-skinned.

At that moment, the broadcast echoed across the arena.

"Today marks the start of the Tianhai Alliance Tournament. We've specially invited a team from Shrek Academy to spar with our last champion team. Given Shrek Academy's overwhelming strength, this sparring match will be a cross-age challenge, with our Tianhai Alliance youth group seven-person champions facing Shrek's seven-person junior team. Now, let's welcome both sides to the stage!"

Gu You and Gu Yue moved to the Zero Class viewing section.

Of course, Gu You knew who Ye Xinglan and the others were — he was just teasing them, nothing more.

"Eh, where did you two run off to just now?" Xie Xie looked over at the two and asked curiously.

"Playing!"

Gu Yue and Gu You answered at the same time.

"Playing?"

Xie Xie scratched his head in confusion. With so many people here, what could they possibly play? But he didn't press further. After all, the Shrek Academy team was taking the stage — this was the highlight match. Watching it carefully should teach them a lot.

Even Wu Zhangkong had told them earlier that this match had great observational value, and if they watched closely, they could gain a lot.

The Tianhai Alliance team stepping on stage was last year's youth champion — seven students from Tianhai Academy, all over twenty now, and only eligible for the adult division this year.

Gu You clicked his tongue in amusement. Losing to peers was fine, but if you're in your twenties and can't beat a bunch of teenagers, that's just pathetic.

Each member wore a silver team uniform, looking sharp and coordinated — clearly veteran fighters, full of spirit and excitement.

On the opposite side, the first five from Shrek Academy were unfamiliar to Gu You — just passersby to him. But the last two, he definitely recognized. Actually, even if he didn't, he knew who they were; that's the benefit of having an 'omniscient' perspective. Compared to the Tianhai team, the Shrek side was much younger — just fourteen or fifteen — making them stand out sharply on stage.

Gu Yue's eyes flashed briefly with surprise, then settled down.

On stage, both teams exchanged greetings. The Tianhai team was visibly taller, with the age gap obvious.

A gap of more than five years!

Leading Shrek's side was a boy around fifteen. His appearance wasn't particularly outstanding, but there was an indescribable aura about him — calm and imposing. Just stepping forward made him the instant center of attention.

The match began!

Within one minute… the entire Tianhai team was knocked out, lying flat on the stage.

The entire stadium fell silent. For a moment, the massive arena holding eighty thousand spectators was utterly still.

Inside, Xie Xie was screaming a thousand 'why's' — what could they possibly learn from this? A cross-age challenge, and they didn't even last a minute? This was practically a massacre! The Tianhai team hadn't even gotten to show their abilities.

"Hello everyone! I'm Ye Xinglan. Sorry to interrupt your schedule. I come from Shrek Academy and have always admired the Tianhai Alliance. Volunteering for this exchange, I never expected the local soul masters' quality to be this poor. Gu You! Dare to come out and fight? Back then you didn't just humiliate me, did you? You humiliated me nicely, didn't you?" Ye Xinglan's voice, amplified through the broadcast system, echoed into the ears of all eighty thousand spectators.

And it wasn't just the live audience — all the major live-stream platforms were covering this, with at least a million-plus viewers. Shrek Academy's popularity had never been low.

In the Tianhai Alliance's official booth, several government officials turned pale when they heard this. One of them pounded his seat and barked, "Check on this Gu You!"

The assistant next to him trembled and whispered, "Sir, that kid…" leaning over to explain. The official sucked in a cold breath. "Forget it, don't check anymore…"

"Which little brat dares insult Shrek students?"

The entire stadium erupted, with voices everywhere shouting and cursing Gu You.

Gu Yue's face was full of amusement. She looked at Gu You, as if asking — so, what now?

Tang Wulin and the others were dumbfounded, staring at Gu You in disbelief.

Xie Xie finally understood what that earlier 'playing' had meant — turns out, they'd been playing with Shrek students!

Wu Zhangkong didn't know what to say either — it was all up to Gu You now.

Gu You snorted coldly. He hadn't expected things to blow up like this. That Ye Xinglan sure knew how to stir trouble.

In the Shrek Academy viewing section, Shen Yi, the team's supervising teacher, stood up trembling. "Nonsense!" she snapped. She remembered her teacher mentioning that because of Gu You, Wu Zhangkong had been readmitted into their ranks. She had guessed the boy would appear at this Tianhai event — after all, it was the East Sea Coast's biggest tournament. But she never expected him to show up like this. Either way, Ye Xinglan was in serious trouble now.

"That name sounds familiar… Didn't the news once report on a kid named Gu You?"

"Bah, there are tons of people with the same name. Just scold him anyway!"

The stadium roared with chatter and curses. Gu You calmly blocked the noise with soul power.

"Dare?"

Gu You's soul power flared, his icy voice cutting through the noise, instantly silencing the entire crowd again.

All eyes locked on one spot. A sharp shattering sound followed — Gu You crashed through the glass from the East Sea Academy Zero Class's VIP area and landed directly below the stage.

"Wait, isn't that Gu You? Looks just like him…"

"No way! Ahh—absolutely no way!"

The shouting died down, but the crowd was still chaotic.

Ye Xinglan saw Gu You and grinned. "I thought you wouldn't dare."

"Didn't your teacher tell you? When you do things, don't go too far," Gu You's face turned cold.

"Hmph! No need for extra words. You humiliated me before — today, I'll return that a hundredfold!"
