In the evening, Becky took two hours of rest and then once again started to work. But this time, it wasn't related to the hotels or anything.
It was training to become more familiar with her powers and the power system. She had the knowledge and even some experience due to having the full memories and instincts of the old Becky.
However, battles could change in a matter of seconds, so she wanted to become as good as she could before she faced Arthur or took admission in the Falcon Academy.
She donned a dark black and purple bodysuit and went to the underground training facility, which was reserved just for her. It was the perfect example of a modern training center.
There were a lot of things there that could help her train, including various types of equipment, a well-trained AI that would give her suggestions and even simulate battles.
There were also many packages of potions, including Mana Recovery, Health Restoration, and many others. It was a paradise for training junkies.
Becky was alone in this training space, except for Ruby, who was standing far away and keeping an eye on her. If there were any accidents, she would be the first one to rush for help.
Becky waved her hand at her partner and then sat down on a comfortable mat. She closed her eyes and calmed her mind, removing all the unnecessary thoughts.
The first part of the training always started with meditation, as only after one had gained control over their Sea of Consciousness would they be able to fight properly.
After a few seconds, her consciousness slipped inside her and reached a space existing in a metaphysical state on the periphery of the physical world and the Astral World.
The Sea of Consciousness.
The appearance of a Sea of Consciousness was based on a Runemaster's personality, mental state, and even their wishes. It was the region of their being.
Slowly, Becky opened her eyes and witnessed the grand Sea of Consciousness of the strongest prodigy in the world.
It was vast, dark, and silent.
Above, a crimson sky stretched endlessly, filled with drifting embers that never burned out. There were no clouds—only black flame wisps moving slowly like specters in the distance.
Occasionally, small golden birds made of pure fire would fly across the sky before vanishing into trails of rune light.
Below her feet was a massive obsidian platform, shaped like a broken egg. Its surface was cracked and glowing from within, as if something was trying to be reborn from the depths.
Right at the center of the platform stood a black pillar of flame, rising several meters high, releasing a quiet yet terrifying pressure.
Three Rune Spheres floated around the flame pillar, orbiting it like silent stars. Each sphere glowed with a different color—red, gold, and orange—representing her fire, defense, and rebirth.
This was her Sea of Consciousness.
It was calm but held unimaginable heat beneath the surface.
The ash falling from the sky was warm, not cold, and every time it landed on her skin, she could feel her mind clear up, her control becoming sharper. It helped her craft runes faster, think deeper, and stabilize her Sphere layers when she meditated.
Sometimes, when her emotions stirred or her life was threatened, the black flame pillar would flare up. And if someone carried killing intent near her in the real world, she could feel a ripple inside this Sea before anything even happened.
This place wasn't just her inner world. It was her domain.
Feeling the mana coursing through her veins, Becky smiled and focused on the three Rune Spheres floating around the flame pillar.
They were the Innate Rune Spheres she had Awakened a year ago.
The first one was the Flameheart Sphere, a C-Rank 8-layered Rune Sphere targeted at offense.
It basically provided her with advanced flame control and also crimson flames that were much hotter than normal flames. Their temperature would also be affected by her mental state, so if she was raging, then the flames she produced would be hellfire.
The second one was the Aegis Ember Sphere, a C-Rank 8-layered Rune Sphere targeted at her defenses.
It generated a radiant shield of heat and compressed air, deflecting physical and magical attacks. The temperature could rise to create a burning counter-field around her. It was essentially a Phoenix-themed magic barrier.
The last one was the Ashen Rebirth Sphere, a B-Rank 16-layered Rune Sphere targeted at support.
It was an Innate Rune Sphere exclusive to Becky, representing the mythical Phoenix Rebirth. Once per day, when fatally wounded, her body entered an "ash state" for 10 seconds, during which she rapidly regenerated, purging all poisons and minor curses. At high mastery, it could also cleanse allies.
The best thing about these Innate Rune Spheres was that Becky could observe them and understand many high-rank runes from them.
'Even if Becky had both talent and hard work, she didn't have enough time to properly study them or even use them. But I can use them now.'
Becky gave one last glance at her Innate Rune Spheres and then sat down on the obsidian platform. Her goal this time wasn't to master those three Spheres, but to get better in basic Rune Formations.
'Let's start with the most basic one. I'mma go with the most classic one—Fireball.'
She quickly went through the knowledge of Rune Sphere formations.
Forming Rune Spheres required a few steps of procedure. First, one had to have a deep knowledge about the Rune Sphere they were going to create.
There were thousands of Runes and many more that remained undiscovered. One had to have the proper knowledge of the runes needed to make the particular Rune Sphere.
Then, they would need deep control over mana through which they could carve the Runes in the Sea of Consciousness. It wasn't an easy task, as they weren't supposed to exist in the physical world, so it constantly rejected their existence.
This was also the reason the Rune Spheres were made in the Sea of Consciousness, a place existing between both worlds. It barely allowed the usage of runes.
'Seems like Runes are the language of the Astral World, which can also have similar effects on the physical world. But it rejects them just like it rejects the mana. What is the Astral World anyways?'
