After leaving the scene, Lin Fan couldn't stop thinking about his skill points.
After some thought, he figured it out. Skill points could boost his abilities. For example, he was just a regular guy, but after adding a point to Palm Technique, he suddenly knew tons of fighting moves! It felt like he'd practiced them a million times.
This got him curious. Could skill points work on other things, like wrestling, racing, or even cooking? His Palm Technique was only at the beginner level, so it could probably get stronger.
Just the beginner level let him crush Da Han. If he maxed it out, could he dominate with a single slap? The thought made Lin Fan grin. He wouldn't need bodyguards—he could take on five guys alone!
He checked the Palm Technique interface. It showed "0/10." Did that mean he needed ten points to level up? He'd only earned one point for selling a formula worth 200 million! Was the first skill cheap, but upgrades cost way more?
How many treasures would he need to sell to max it out? This System was a total rip-off!
Lin Fan sighed. He'd have to find more valuable stuff to sell.

Meanwhile, Xiao Rou noticed Lin Fan frowning and muttering. She thought he was worried about the Qinglong Gang. Guilt hit her hard, and tears welled up in her eyes again.
Lin Fan snapped out of his thoughts. "Don't cry! I told you, I'm not scared of the Qinglong Gang. Here, take my number. If they bother you, call me, and I'll make them regret it!"
He waved his fist and saved his number in her phone.
Xiao Rou wiped her tears. "I'm not worried about me. I'm worried about you! You helped me with that million, which was already so kind. Now you've angered a dangerous gang because of me. I'm so sorry!"
She started sobbing again, feeling awful. The Qinglong Gang was ruthless—nobody could control them. In her mind, Lin Fan's life was in danger because of her.
Lin Fan's heart warmed. This girl cared about him. He pulled her into a gentle hug. "Don't worry, I'm fine. Trust me."
Xiao Rou froze. It was her first time being hugged by a man. Feeling his warmth and a faint minty scent, her heart raced. His words felt like magic, calming her fears.
She leaned against him and whispered, "I trust you."
Lin Fan smiled. Then Xiao Rou mumbled, "Um… can you let go? You're squeezing too tight. I can't breathe!"
Lin Fan quickly let go, noticing her face was red as an apple. She looked shy, like a nervous girl.
He rubbed his nose, embarrassed. His new Palm Technique strength made his arms crazy strong, and he wasn't used to it yet.

They walked down the busy street, looking like a cute couple. Lin Fan asked, "Your family's problems are all fixed now, right?"
Xiao Rou nodded. "Thanks to your million, my dad's surgery and our debts are paid. There's even a bit left."
Just a bit left? Lin Fan felt a pang of sadness. Her life must've been so tough. Luckily, she met him, or she'd have been in big trouble.
He smiled. "You're my girl now. When I have time, I'll visit your parents and get them some health supplements."
Xiao Rou rolled her eyes. "Who says I'm your girl?"
Lin Fan teased, "We already 'had fun' together. Are you ditching me now?" He clutched his chest, pretending to be hurt. "I didn't know you were such a player! You use me and then act like it didn't happen. I worked so hard that night! How's a pure guy like me supposed to find a wife now?"
Xiao Rou burst out laughing, her earlier worries fading.
They kept walking, and Lin Fan asked, "Besides the hotel and the stall, what else do you do?"
"I hand out flyers and help sell stuff in stores," she said.
Lin Fan's heart ached. Xiao Rou was only in her early twenties, when most girls her age were enjoying college. But she was working multiple jobs, probably over twelve hours a day. How could she handle that?
No way his girl was going to work that hard.
He grabbed her hand and said seriously, "Quit all your jobs. Work for me instead."
Xiao Rou's eyes widened. "Work… for you?"
"Yeah, you'll be my personal secretary," Lin Fan said with a grin.
Her face turned red again. "Don't worry," he added, "I'll pay you well. Life with me will be way better."
Xiao Rou nodded, leaning against his shoulder like a shy bird. "I'll do whatever you say."
She was totally smitten. Though they hadn't known each other long, and their meeting was unusual, her feelings for him were real. She felt lucky it was Lin Fan she met that night, or her life might've gone downhill.
Then she looked up. "What do you do for work? I don't know much, so I'm not sure if I can be a good secretary."
She didn't want to just take his money without earning it.
What did he do? Lin Fan froze.
That was a problem. Sure, he was worth over 100 million, but if you asked what he did for a living, he had no answer!
He was technically jobless. A jobless guy with 200 million? That was wild!
