The unusual commotion from the Araki Finance Corporation lobby finally caught the attention of passersby.

A bolder person ventured closer. Upon seeing the sticky blood and flesh smeared on the glass windows, and the bodies strewn haphazardly on the floor, they turned pale, their faces contorted in horror, letting out a piercing scream.

"Ah—!!!"

"D-dead bodies!"

He stumbled to the ground, supporting himself with his hands as he shuffled backward, yet he didn't choose to leave. Instead, he shakily pulled out his phone and began recording the scene inside the lobby.

Others' fear was his greed. If he uploaded this brutal scene online immediately, it would surely attract a lot of traffic.

He had already thought of the title: [Shocking! Brutal Incident Discovered in Chiba, Live Recording!!]

When he calmed down and clearly saw the scene inside, he couldn't help but gasp again. The walls, the floor, were covered in countless "M" symbols drawn in blood.

"This..."

The man swallowed hard. He had thought it was infighting among the people in the finance company, but the scene before him looked nothing like infighting; rather, it resembled some kind of bizarre ritual...

Like... a cult summoning a deity?!

He quickly counted the bodies on the ground; there were eight in total.

This number would undoubtedly make it a major, wide-area designated incident by the National Security Agency... And he would become the first discoverer of a wide-area designated incident, perhaps even able to write an autobiography.

A National Security Agency wide-area designated incident generally refers to events causing massive casualties or severe social impact. Even with Japan's current public safety environment, a case involving seven deaths could not be ignored. It was an incident comparable to the ghoul activity in Chiba.

The man's voice attracted many people. Curiosity is human nature everywhere, and more and more people gathered around Araki Finance Corporation. They took out their phones to film the scene inside, but no one dared to step in.

They clearly understood the difference between being a spectator and being in danger.

The commotion outside the building caught Yagami Raito's attention, and he couldn't help but quicken his pace.

Although his figure wouldn't be caught on surveillance, there were too many eyes. It would be bad if someone noticed him here.

"Damn it, what's all that noise about?!"

Endo Yo, on the top floor, shouted in annoyance. He went to the window, poked his head out, and saw seven or eight people gathered at the main entrance, filming something.

He stormed towards his office door, pulled open the handle, and yelled towards the elevator, "Hey! Fujino! Yasuda! Can't you hear the noise outside?!

"Go drive them away, don't affect our business!"

What a joke. Their loan shark business thrived on quietly making big money. Being surrounded by so many people and causing such a huge commotion, how would they be able to open for business afterward?

He yelled loudly, but no one responded.

He frowned, wondering what was wrong with the people downstairs. He pulled on his coat, preparing to go down and check the situation.

Just then, the elevator indicator light lit up, and the elevator doors slowly opened.

"Hello."

Yagami Raito stood ramrod straight, stepped forward, a faint smile on his lips. "Excuse me, are you Endo-san?"

Endo Yo stopped, frowning, trying to recall any memory of the man in front of him, but found nothing. He asked cautiously, "Hello, who are you? Have we met before?"

"No, but we do now, don't we?"

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Yagami Raito."

"Yagami Raito?" Endo Yo nodded. "Understood. You're here for a loan, right? Have a seat inside. I have something to deal with right now."

Perhaps Yagami Raito's student-like appearance was too misleading, causing Endo Yo not to take him seriously. He was just a student; how big of a business could it be?

Endo Yo adjusted his cuffs and was about to walk past Yagami Raito.

"A guest has arrived, Endo-san. Don't you plan to receive me first?"

"I told you, if it's about a loan, we can talk after I've handled things!" Endo Yo's patience seemed to be wearing thin, his tone a bit irritable. He subconsciously looked up at Yagami Raito, but was startled by his eyes.

Anger, sorrow, and a bone-chilling, cold killing intent.

"Is that so..."

Yagami Raito's tone grew even softer. With his back to Endo Yo, he pulled out the Death Note, his writing movements becoming increasingly practiced. "Honestly, what kind of student is this? Absolutely no manners," Endo Yo muttered, scratching his back. "And that guy's eyes, what was that about?"

His legs were subtly trembling; he was clearly shaken. He finally reached the elevator, and as the door slowly opened, he saw Sawada Kyoichi, who was guarding the main door on the first floor, standing expressionlessly inside.

"You scoundrel, what are you standing in there for, scaring people?!" Endo Yo punched him, but didn't think much of it, and pressed the 1st-floor button.

Just before the elevator doors fully closed, he seemed to see Yagami Raito turn half his body and flash a chilling smile at him.

Thud—

The elevator doors fully closed.

"Crazy bastard. When you sign the papers and can't pay, I'll break your limbs," Endo Yo grumbled, completely unaware that Sawada Kyoichi behind him had already pulled out a small knife.

Suddenly, Sawada Kyoichi put a surprisingly friendly arm around his shoulder, leaning close to his ear, and whispered, "God told me to remind you..."

"What?"

"Deep breaths. Dizziness is normal~"

Pfft—

Slash—

Sizzle—

Each unusual sound represented a clean, swift stab into Endo Yo's body. Endo Yo's face was contorted in terror. He couldn't even turn his head, instinctively reaching to cover his neck, which was gushing blood.

He never imagined that someone from the lowest ranks of the organization would suddenly turn a knife on him. His body slumped into the corner of the elevator, staring at Sawada Kyoichi's eerie smile.

But whether intentionally or not, every stab, though causing immense pain, wasn't fatal. If he received timely medical attention, he might even survive.

This also gave him hope of living.

"God also told me that after we die, we'll go to hell."

"Hmph—"

Crazy! Crazy! Crazy! They're all f*cking crazy!

Endo Yo, clutching his neck, his throat making desperate gasping sounds, writhed in the elevator, trying to crawl out.

Just as he wondered why the elevator hadn't started moving, the elevator's ceiling emitted a creaking sound, as if its screws had come loose from old age.
