Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Why Not Just Go to the Moon?

When Yahiko opened the system's exchange list and selected the option to spend points to heal injuries, a translucent window popped up with a line of text:

[Because the target's Rinnegan is not damaged, full restoration requires 100,000 points. You may choose to only heal the eye injury: 50 points.]

"100,000 points?!"

Yahiko's eyes widened in shock. He always knew Nagato's eyes were powerful, but this was the first time he truly grasped the insane value of the Rinnegan.

A hundred thousand points—at the current pace of earning them through Reincarnator Missions, how many would they have to complete just to restore one Rinnegan?

"What's wrong?"

Nagato and Konan looked over in confusion.

When Yahiko bitterly explained the cost, Konan couldn't help but cover her mouth, eyes glistening with tears.

Surprisingly, it was Nagato who remained calm.

"Then don't restore them. Just treat the injury," he said flatly.

Yahiko and Konan exchanged a look and finally nodded, helpless.

For now, that was their only option.

Restoring Nagato's eyes would require a massive number of points. That much was clear.

Exchanging items through the system was, in essence, converting collected *"Fate Energy" into miraculous effects—skills, equipment, abilities, and more—with the Lord God System acting as a conduit.

*(TL/N - I believe this is already clarified on chapter 26 that it is the destiny embedded on the item itself that allows the system to manifest miracles.)

Points were simply a quantification of that energy.

If the Rinnegan had been destroyed, it would have been possible to spend a small amount of Fate Energy to reconstruct it from scratch.

But having it ripped out was equivalent to that Fate Energy being stolen.

There was no way to get something like that back with just a handful of points.

"So what even is Fate Energy anyway? Calling it luck doesn't quite capture it. It's more elusive than that. It's not physical, yet it clings invisibly to everyone. You can't touch it or gather it normally… makes no damn sense."

Nawaki rubbed his temples, feeling like he was being forced to grasp something beyond his current comprehension.

Still, he was just getting started. Sooner or later, he'd understand how to truly analyze and master Fate Energy.

For now, turning it into points and tracking it that way was good enough.

Meanwhile—

Nawaki switched the system's view over to Madara.

Sure enough, he was speeding toward Konoha.

Currently in the village was Kushina Uzumaki—the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki. It was clear Madara intended to reclaim his "summoned beast" first, and then move on to capturing the rest of the Tailed Beasts, launching the Eye of the Moon Plan…

What a blunt-force lunatic.

Nawaki could even see the icon for Black Zetsu on the live map, tailing Madara from afar, unable to find an opportunity to intervene.

Black Zetsu looked completely exasperated.

If Madara hadn't suddenly and inexplicably become young again, there was no way his carefully orchestrated centuries-long plan would've gone sideways like this!

"Now that I think about it," Nawaki mused, "me and Black Zetsu are in kinda the same boat. I dragged Madara into the Lord God System, made him young again—and now he's becoming a damn handful. Am I just shooting myself in the foot here?"

But there was a difference.

Black Zetsu himself had no real power. If he did, he would've resurrected Kaguya by himself ages ago. He relied entirely on manipulation, which is why Madara going rogue caused everything to spiral.

Nawaki, on the other hand, had more than enough strength.

If he truly wanted to stop Madara, he could just exile him to another dimension. There'd be no Eye of the Moon Plan to worry about.

But Nawaki was bound by the rules of the Lord God System—and he wasn't eager to throw away a workhorse like Madara.

If he suddenly declared, "The Eye of the Moon Plan is forbidden. Disobey, and you'll be erased," then even the dumbest Reincarnator would know something was up.

Issuing direct bans on Reincarnators would only expose the system's weaknesses and make them doubt its impartiality. Instead, it was better to establish neutral-sounding rules that could apply to anyone.

So what sort of restriction could apply broadly, without singling out Madara?

Soon, Nawaki came up with a rule:

[Outside of official Reincarnator Missions, Reincarnators are strictly prohibited from mass hypnosis, slaughter, or causing harm to intelligent life. Violators will be erased.]

This was necessary.

Reincarnators were the foundation of the Reincarnation Space, and they were selected from intelligent beings across many worlds.

Since this version of the system didn't yet include a parallel dimension safeguard, if a mentally unstable Reincarnator—or one who exchanged for a blood sacrifice-type ability—went around massacring innocent civilians, it would destabilize and eventually ruin that world.

True, destroying a world could still yield Fate Energy…

But in strong, resource-rich worlds like the Naruto universe, sustainable development—letting powerful new individuals constantly emerge—was far more profitable than wiping everything out.

The Eye of the Moon Plan would plunge all of humanity into an eternal genjutsu, trapping them in an ideal dream world of peace.

Clearly, that clashed with Nawaki's goals.

He still wanted to use the Naruto world as his "main base," a long-term place to live. No way was he going to let Madara ruin it.

With this new rule, not only could he block Madara from carrying out his plan, he'd also prevent other Reincarnators from using brute force to destroy the foundational order of the world.

Two birds, one stone.

"But rules alone aren't enough. The real issue is getting Madara's brain to reboot. He needs to realize how ridiculous this Eye of the Moon nonsense is."

Nawaki thought for a moment… then smiled.

A moment later—

As Madara sprinted across the terrain, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

[A Random Bounty has appeared.]

A random bounty?

Madara froze briefly, puzzled—but his wariness of the system compelled him to check it.

A semi-transparent interface appeared in front of him, displaying a simple line of text:

[Bounty: The Apollo Moon Landing Project

Objective: Land on the Moon

Reward: The Secret History of the Shinobi World

(A detailed account of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, Hamura, and the true origins of the shinobi world, including the final fate of the Uchiha and Senju clans.)

Time Limit: 1 day]

---

"…What the hell is this?"

Madara's first instinct was suspicion. Was this a trap? Some kind of hidden meaning?

A being capable of transporting people between worlds wouldn't possibly issue a meaningless mission… right?

And he was right—Nawaki didn't post random missions without a reason.

But Madara had no way of knowing that.

He mulled it over seriously for a while before arriving at a tentative conclusion.

Could it really just be a… random bounty?

Madara honestly couldn't fathom what significance landing on the moon could possibly have. And the reward? Not points, but some vague "Secret History of the Shinobi World"?
