Chapter 15 - A Date In The City

Warmth. That was the first thing I noticed when I woke up.

The room was lit with a soft morning glow, filtered through pale curtains that swayed gently with the breeze.

Synthia lay beside me, one arm draped over my chest, her head resting just below my shoulder. Her breath was steady, soft against my skin. Her crimson hair was a gentle mess, strands curling over her face like threads of flame.

I smiled.

"You're doing it again," she murmured.

"What?"

"Staring like I'm going to disappear."

I shifted to look at her. Her eyes were half-lidded, sleepy but focused. "Can you blame me? I've got a beautiful woman in my arms who would kick me through a wall if I make a wrong joke."

She narrowed her eyes, amused. "Then don't make a wrong joke."

"Impossible. Dumb jokes are how I show affection."

She snorted softly and turned her face into my chest. "You're lucky I like you."

We stayed like that for a while. No rush. No obligations. Just two people resting in the warmth of each other.

---

The next three days passed like a dream.

We didn't train. Didn't prepare for war. We just... lived. I took her to the crystal grove that shimmered under moonlight. We swam in the lake where the water glowed softly when touched. We lay under trees and talked about everything and nothing. I sang to her frequently. Singing songs from my previous life, beneath the sun.

We cooked together. I handled the fire and spice. She mocked my stirring technique but still quietly memorized everything when she thought I wasn't looking.

She wore my shirt. Not her battle armor. Not her robes. Just... a shirt. Her hair was tied up loosely, and she walked barefoot through the grass like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" She asked, catching me staring.

"How could I not, when I have such a beautiful milf next to me who loves me." I said smugly.

She didn't respond.

But she smiled.

With only two days left for the Academy's entrance exam we stepped through the portal at dawn, arriving outside Elondor—the city nearest to Nelix Academy. Morning fog curled through the cobbled streets. Mages in crisp uniforms hurried by. Airships floated silently overhead. It was all so alive.

Synthia stayed close. Her crimson eyes darted everywhere, absorbing the life she hadn't seen in centuries. I caught her smiling at a little boy chasing a flying paper dragon.

We browsed shops. She gravitated toward old books and enchanted jewelry. I bought her a crimson-glass hair ornament. She rolled her eyes but wore it anyway.

"You're hopeless," she said.

"And yet, charming."

[Synthia's POV]

It was strange, seeing the world again.

Not through the lens of war, power, or duty—but simply as a woman walking beside someone she trusted.

The city of Elondor buzzed with life. Children chased wind-kites through floating plazas, spell-lights danced between lanterns, and laughter echoed in the air like music. I didn't remember cities being like this. Or maybe I'd never noticed.

The noise. The motion. The scent of fresh bread and ink and old parchment. Children running. Merchants shouting. For centuries, I'd slept in the void, frozen in pain and memory. Now, everything was warm and overwhelming.

But what struck me most was him.

Ravin.

He kept turning to me, watching my face every time I reacted to something new. He didn't rush. He didn't pull me through crowds like I was a shadow. He matched my steps.

He walked with such ease, with that ever-present smirk, saying things like, "That book matches your eyes," and, "Only a goddess like you could make a back alley glow."

I hated how much I liked it.

He held my hand, teased me, bought me trinkets. When I lingered at a music stall, he bought me a crystal flute—just because I said it looked nice.

When I got a little happy at a perfume seller's compliment, he leaned in and whispered, "They're not wrong, you know."

When I got overwhelmed by the crowd, he took my hand.

We found a small terrace cafe by the river, where floating lilies danced atop the water.

"You're quiet," he said, sipping something sweet.

"I'm watching," I replied.

"Me?"

"The world. But also you." I smiled faintly. "You're... different here. Softer. Brighter."

He leaned back, mock-offended. "You saying I was brooding and grumpy in the realm?"

"I'm saying you've changed. And so have I."

He reached across the table, taking my hand again, and kissed it.

"You deserve happiness, and I will do everything in my power to make you happy."

I blushed, but said nothing.

[Ravin's POV]

After lunch, a crowd gathered in the central plaza.

A floating stage hovered above a polished square. Enchanted instruments shimmered into view, available for anyone willing to perform.

I cracked my knuckles.

"You're not seriously..." Synthia started.

"Oh, I am."

The moment I stepped onto the stage, silence fell. A soft wind brushed the banners overhead. I found the piano—enchanted to glow under touch—and sat.

Synthia stood at the edge of the square, arms folded, but her eyes followed every movement.

I played.

A soft melody. Not loud. Not proud. Just... heartfelt.

Then I sang:

"No heroes in my story, No crown above my name, But still I keep on walking, Through fire, grief, and flame.

If love could be a weapon, Then you would be my sword, A light I found in silence, A truth without a word."

When I finished, no one clapped right away.

They were still.

Breathless.

Then, the applause came. Flowers rained from the balcony ledges. Children laughed. And Synthia—

She smiled.

Not a smirk. Not a cold, composed nod. A smile. Soft and open and real.

While everyone was clapping, someone else stood completely still.

Near the edge of the crowd, a girl with long silver hair and golden eyes locked eyes with me. Her irises shimmered with something wild—recognition, awe... and something far more dangerous.

Tears welled in her eyes.

She clutched the edge of her sleeve tightly, like holding herself together. Her breathing was unsteady, as if the song had unraveled something deep inside her.

She whispered so softly I almost didn't hear:

"I finally found you."

Pixia stirred in my mind.

"⁄(⁄ ⁄•⁄-⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄ "

"What the actual fuck!" I mentally screamed. While, I stood still at the stage with a lost expression staring at that girl.

Seeing me like this Synthia's gaze flicked toward the girl, her eyes narrowing. A quiet tension filled the air.

(Host... this is either the start of a romance arc or a murder arc. Possibly both. I wish you for your survival.)

---

[Synthia's POV]

He sang.

And I understood.

Everything he was, he poured into those notes. That song wasn't for the crowd. It wasn't even for me. It was just... him. And the moment I saw that girl in the crowd, I knew what I was up against.

A girl who looked at him with obsession so strong even I was taken aback for a moment. It was like she had waited lifetimes for this moment.

I gripped the edge of my sleeve, holding back the wave of irrational jealousy surging through me.

But then he looked at me.

And smiled.

And just like that, I wasn't afraid.

(YANDERE LEVEL 1: Activated. Synthia is now possessive. Warning: subtle stalking and mild threats imminent.)

That night, in the inn by the lake, he held my hand.

We didn't talk about the girl.

We didn't need to.

Because tomorrow, the academy would begin.

And I would not let anyone take him from me.

[Ravin's POV]

Later that night, as I sat by the window with the moonlight spilling across the floor, the communication crystal flickered softly.

Alicia's voice came through, quiet and sweet.

"Ravin... you're safe, right? I just had a weird feeling today. Like... someone was trying to steal you."

I smiled faintly.

"I'm fine, Alicia. Just taking a walk before the academy starts."

She was quiet for a moment, then whispered:

"Good. Because if someone tries to take you, Ravin... I won't forgive them."

The orb dimmed.

(Affection +2. Alicia: 102/100. CP +10,000. YANDERE LEVEL 2: Alicia is becoming increasingly unstable.)

This was happening while the girl from earlier was staring at me across her room, which was face to face with mine with a lost and obsessed expression.

(How are you going to survive this, Host?)

"... Everything will be fine right?... Right????? Answer me Pixia!"

A/N:

Let me tell you how Ravin gains CP. Until 80 affection points, every single one is worth 1000 CP, from 80-95 every affection points gives 2000 CP and from 95-100 each point gives 3000 CP. Beyond 100 every point is worth 5000 CP. At 100 affection points, a waifu becomes a basic yandere. Also if you are confused why that silver haired girl gave so many CP, I will explain the reason in the future chapters but her affection points were already 70 before she met Ravin. Hope this clears up some misunderstandings.
