It was a beautiful sunny morning when Kai decided to head back to the Adventurers' guild. He always started off his day with a smile on his face. How could he not?
His father was an omniversal god, he was transmigrated into a fantasy world with powers, he has women by his side, and he's having fun.
Today was also special since he will be taking on his first-ever D-rank quest, something he was looking forward to extremely, even though it would be easy.
Normally, the guild is wild and hectic. People would be returning from their quests while others would be leaving, which would pile up at the entrance. People would start fights that broke tables and bones. And most importantly, there would be that one idiot who reveals to everyone that they found treasure and winds up dead the next day.
But today, it was more hectic than normal, or at least that's what it sounded like, judging from the man screaming his lungs out while bawling his eyes out on the floor with another man in the corner shaking as if he saw a ghost.
"Troll! There were trolls! W-We couldn't stop them! T-There were too many! Oh god! Gewn! We left Gwen!"
'The fuck is wrong with that guy?' Kai walked up to someone, nudged his arm and pointed at the man on the ground.
"Ahh, that's Phil. He's an overachiever. Took on a C-Rank quest, which is fine since he and his party are all D-Ranks, but the idiot decided to fight against trolls instead of retreating. Out of their party of six, three died, one was left behind, and well, those two made it out."
Kai looked at the man with disgust. "What an idiot." It would be different if he had the power to kill those trolls, but the fact that he engaged them while knowing how strong they were made Kai feel no pity for the man.
"Please! Please save her! Gwen! Save Gwen!" The man shouted.
A staff member came running with a medic and took the man and his partner to the med bay to be treated for their mental and physical injuries.
"Poor girl, she just got promoted to D-Rank, and that idiot led her to her death. Such is the life of an adventurer."
"Fucking clown. That guy should get his license suspended."
"Who cares. If they were stupid enough to engage trolls, then they deserve to die. Only fools don't know their limits."
Once the chaos had settled, Kai went to the receptionist.
"Excuse me? What quest did that idiot take?"
"Hmm? Oh, Phil? He took a quest to exterminate a goblin camp. C-Rank quest because of the sheer number of goblins. Since the quest was a failure, it will go back on the board. Such a shame, his party. They were all promising adventures. Phil always bit off more than he could chew, but it never cost lives."
"Yeah, yeah, that's unfortunate. Can I take on the quest myself?" Why did he want to do that? Well, it was simple. He wanted to create his own Party, and he needed members for that. If Gwen survived, she would see how strong he is, feel grateful since he saved her, and want to join his party.
'If she's unattractive, I'll just save her and move on. She also better have tits. I'm not into flat-chested girls.'
"Sorry, sir, but you're a D-Rank adventurer, so you don't qualify to take on the quest, even with your hunter experience."
'I don't even know why I asked this bitch.' Kai hypnotised the woman and took the quest.
'Gwen, here I come!'
---
Normally, traveling to the place Kai needed to go would have taken about three days on horseback, which was normal for this world.
What wasn't normal was flying through the sky at supersonic speeds and arriving in mere minutes.
'I'm fast as fuck boi!' Kai landed on the ground and approached the goblin camp.
Blood, guts, and dead bodies were everywhere. Most were goblins, but there were a few human bodies lying around, some decaying while others were fresh.
'Fucking disgusting.'
"Grrrrrrr!" Goblins leapt at his back with spears in their hands. Arrows were fired from treetops aimed at his head, and goblins with swords charged right at him.
"Let's make this quick. I have a girl to find." With footwork that resembled an elegant dance, Kai dodged all the arrows with ease.
He grabbed the closest spear to him, throwing the goblin off it toward the charging sword goblins, and decapitated the remaining goblins that were leaping at him with one swing of the spear.
"Gekeekeeeekee!"
"Oh, so now you make that sound? Fuck off!" He took one step, appearing in front of a goblin. His fist connected with its chest and blew it apart.
He took another step, appearing behind another one, decapitating it with his hand.
Grabbing the goblin's head, he threw it at another one, then blitzed all around the camp, killing every goblin in sight before arriving back at the goblin that caught the head, and blowing his face up with a fireball.
"EEEEKKKKKKK!" An ear-piercing screech tore through the air. It sounded tired, scared, not the sound a monster would make, but one of a frightened person.
"That must be Gwen." Kai blasted off in that direction.
---
"Leave me alone! Go away! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die!" Gwen held onto her staff, the one her father had given her before she died.
Her ankle was twisted, and her legs were covered in mud and blood.
For the past three days, she fought hard, trying to survive, hiding when she could and eating anything that would satisfy her hunger. But even after all of that, those trolls, who have a great sense of smell, found her.
Lightning crackled from the tip of her staff as her electrically charged red hair rose into the air.
"Die!" She fired her spell, a large bolt of lightning that normally would be enough to fry anything it touched, but today, it only tickled the trolls that were chasing her.
Her mana was depleted, her strength waned, and the trolls were looking forward to their meal.
"N-No, no please! Please! Don't eat me! I don't wanna die!" She cried, begging and pleading to anyone, but no one answered.
The large, green hand of the troll reached down to grab the weakened Gwen, but right before it reached her, its hand was severed.
"GROOHHHHHH!!!" It cried.
"You must be Gwen. Nice to meet you. I'm Kai. I'm here to save you."
Maybe it was because of her situation and how she was on the brink of death, or maybe it was because of his handsome appearance. But as soon as Kai turned to her with a smile on his face, she fell in love.
'Holy mother of milfs shes sexy as fuck!' He looked her up and down. Large tits, wide hips, red hair, soft skin, and a sexy mage outfit that showed off her cleavage and legs.
'Yeah, you're definitely the next member of my harem. But before I lose myself...' Kai lept into the air, cutting off the troll's head.
The next one came fast, it's club slamming directly on top of Kai with deadly force. But he grabbed the club, twisting it in his hand, which made the troll flip onto its back, and he stomped on its throat.
The next one threw its club, but using telekinesis, Kai threw it back, and it replaced the troll's head.
Could monsters feel fear? If they could, then that was what the last troll was feeling. It dropped it's club, falling on its butt before taking off, its heavy feet slamming into the ground.
But as if something grabbed its leg, the troll fell on its face and was dragged back to where Kai and Gwen were.
Kai used [Clean] and [Heal] on Gwen, restoring her to her prime condition, physically at least.
"Kill it." He said.
"W-What?"
"You're shaken up right now. Scared, scarred, and mentally not there. So, kill the troll. Release your anger. Kill the bastard that made you suffer for three days."
Gwen stared at Kai's beautiful face for a bit before looking at the troll. The way it looked, how it feard Kai pissed her off.
"How dare you look that way!" She blasted it with a fireball.
"I ran away for three days!" Icicles pierced its skin
"And you bastards chased me with no remorse!" A lightning strike charred its body.
"Yet you dare feel fear?! How fucking dare you!" She encased the troll's entire body in a huge sphere of water and proceeded to clench her fists, crushing the troll under the pressure of the water sphere until it exploded.
Gwen fell to her knees, breathing heavily as her mind processed everything. Her panic ceased, and her heart slowed down. But the fear, the trauma, was still there.
"Feel better?" Kai asked, comforting her with a warm embrace.
"No, but I'll live. Thank you for saving me." She returned his hug, feeling safe in Kai's arms and not waiting to let go.
"No problem. Come, let's get you back to Hearthwood."
"Yeah, I'd like that."
