Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: After the Battle: The Devil Fruit and the Reward

The last echoes of the battle faded as the Whitebeard crew inspected the shattered ship of the Red Skull pirates. The sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple. The tension in the air slowly dissipated, but the feeling of victory still pulsed strongly in every warrior's chest.

Vista, still holding his katanas stained with enemy blood and sweat running down his forehead, made his way to the ship's main hold. There, in a chest half-hidden under debris, he discovered a peculiar-looking Devil Fruit, glowing with a sky-blue hue. According to the crew's unwritten rules, it belonged to the Fifth Division.

"This fruit already has an owner," Vista said quietly, admiring it.

Zed approached, curious, his eyes reflecting the fruit's light with a mix of awe and restrained ambition.

"Is it true that only one person can possess a Devil Fruit in each division?" he asked.

Vista nodded.

"That's right. It's a rule of the crew. This fruit is a symbol of power and responsibility. But there's more," he added, looking at Zed with an almost fatherly smile. "You showed courage and skill in your first real battle. That's why I want you to have it."

Zed couldn't hide his surprise.

"Really? For me?"

"Yes," Vista replied. "It's more than a reward. It's a chance for you to become a true warrior. But remember, the power of a Devil Fruit comes with a price and a commitment."

With a solemn gesture, Vista extended the fruit toward Zed.

"Take care of this. And more importantly, take care of your spirit. The sea is full of dangers, and you'll need all your strength."

Zed took the fruit with both hands, feeling a tingling sensation run through his body as he held it.

"I won't let you down."

Vista nodded, satisfied.

"I hope not, Zed. Because there's still a long road ahead."

As the sun sank into the horizon, the Whitebeard crew silently celebrated another victory, and Zed began to feel the true weight and destiny that awaited him.

Back on the imposing Moby Dick, the atmosphere was calmer after the recent clash. While the crew enjoyed a well-deserved rest, Marco withdrew to the ship's library—a place filled with scrolls, books, and ancient manuscripts collecting all knowledge about the world.

After Marco found the entry for the Robo Robo no Mi in the Devil Fruit encyclopedia, the information revealed not only the immense potential of the power Zed had received, but also its profound limitations.

Type: ParameciaAbility: Allows the user to steal and simultaneously use the abilities of up to four mid-tier Devil Fruits and one or two high-tier Fruits. However, the user can only access up to 70% of each fruit's total power unless they manage to awaken them individually—at which point the limit increases to 90%.

Examples of compatible mid-tier fruits:

Yuki Yuki no Mi (Snow Fruit): A weaker and more controlled version of the Hie Hie no Mi (Ice Fruit used by Aokiji, a high-tier fruit).

Mera Mera no Mi (Flame Fruit): A mid-tier version of the Magu Magu no Mi (Magma Fruit used by Akainu, a high-tier fruit).

Bomu Bomu no Mi (Explosion Fruit)

Ito Ito no Mi (String Fruit)

Examples of compatible high-tier fruits:

Hie Hie no Mi (Ice Fruit – Aokiji)

Magu Magu no Mi (Magma Fruit – Akainu)

Pika Pika no Mi (Light Fruit – Kizaru)

Weaknesses and Challenges

Individual Awakening: Each fruit must be awakened separately to reach its full potential (90%), which is a long and extremely demanding process. In reality, users often take decades to awaken even a single fruit—making this an enormous challenge for Zed.

Physical Endurance: The user must have a physically strong body capable of withstanding the energy and strain of multiple abilities simultaneously. To handle high-tier or Mythical Zoan fruits, the user must have an exceptional constitution, like that of legendary characters such as Big Mom or Kaido. Otherwise, their body may collapse or suffer severe damage from the strain.

Stamina Consumption: Using multiple abilities at once greatly drains the user's stamina, requiring cautious and strategic use in battle.
