"Not this place again…"
Axel's voice echoed into the endless void, swallowed up by the suffocating blackness around him. He didn't need anyone to explain where he was—he already knew. The dark tunnel. That shadowy space he'd once been trapped in before. And now, he was back.
This time, though, he didn't bother trying to run. He remembered the futility of it all. No matter how far or fast he ran, the darkness would never end. It would stretch infinitely, coiling around him like a living thing, mocking every desperate footstep.
So, Axel sat down. Right there in the middle of nothing.
His thoughts slowly drifted back to the last thing he remembered. The remnant had come for him. Because of Jayvaughn.
His jaw clenched. It had happened so fast—too fast. One moment, he was arguing with Jayvaughn, trying to protect him from a truth too heavy to share. The next, he was under attack. And now…
Axel lowered his head.
"I'm back here… which means my soul has been detached."
