Just as the doctor had said, there was nothing physically wrong with Axel. His vitals were stable, and every test came back clean. With no medical reason to keep him, Axel was discharged three days after waking up.
His parents had begged him to come home with them, to rest for at least a week or two in the comfort of their house, surrounded by family. But Axel, whose mind had been consumed by thoughts of Jayvaughn ever since he opened his eyes, gently refused. "I'd really rather stay in my apartment," he said. "I need a bit of space to clear some stuffs up, but I promise I will visit home as soon as I am done."
Of course, he didn't tell them the real reason.
Jayvaughn hadn't visited him once since the day he woke up.
Three days.
Three long days.
And not a single message or call.
