...

Katherine had been doing surgeries for a whole week without a break. Tomorrow was finally her day off, so she couldn't help drinking a few extra glasses.

She was now slumped over the table, cheeks slightly red, eyes half-closed like she had fallen asleep.

But at the corner of her closed eyes, a clear tear slowly slid down her straight nose and dropped onto the table, forming a small puddle.

No one knew if it was the alcohol or the sadness buried deep inside her heart.

Just then, a soft knock came at the door, pulling her out of her dazed state.

Katherine frowned slightly, wiped her tear away with her sleeve, and slowly stood up, swaying as she walked toward the door.

Her steps were unsteady. As she walked, she asked, "Who is it?"

She opened the door. When she saw who was standing there, her mind instantly became clearer.

It was Andrew.

His eyes were cold and sharp, staring straight into her, like he wanted to see through her completely.

His voice was low and icy, tinged with anger. "Who were you drinking with?"

Katherine's expression turned dark. She stared right back at him without fear and answered with a blank face, "That's none of your business. Also, how did you find this place?"

Andrew's lips curled slightly into a mocking smile. His voice was still cold. "If I want to find you, it doesn't matter where you hide. I'll always find you unless I don't want to."

After saying that, he reached out and roughly pushed Katherine aside, stepping straight into the room.

His sudden move shocked her. Her eyes widened as she stared at his back in disbelief.

Anger surged inside her. She shouted at his back, "Andrew, you're not welcome here. Get out!"

Andrew turned to look at her. His eyes were deep like they could see everything.

"Katherine, did you forget who I am?"

He gave a slight smirk. His voice was low, magnetic, but full of dominance.

"I'm your legal husband."

Katherine laughed coldly. Her smile sent a chill through the room.

"Legal husband? Doesn't it sound ridiculous coming from your mouth?"

Her voice trembled slightly. Her eyes sparkled with mixed emotions—anger, sadness, pain.

"Your idea of a legal husband is flying straight to your ex on the day we got our marriage certificate? Having a candlelight dinner with her the moment you came back?"

Her words were like knives, stabbing straight into the heart.

Andrew frowned when he saw her being so stubborn. He felt a wave of frustration.

He didn't even feel like explaining.

Katherine saw him staying silent. She didn't plan to ask more either. After all, they were about to get divorced.

"Andrew, let's get divorced."

Her tone was firm and decisive, like she had already made up her mind.

Those words finally broke Andrew's patience. He took a big step toward her, grabbed her chin tightly, and his voice was colder than winter.

"Katherine, what right do you have to ask me for a divorce?"

"If we're divorcing, it'll be because I say so. Don't think this will make me feel sorry for you."

"Katherine, you were the one who forced Grandpa to make me marry you. Now you want to divorce? Don't even dream about it."

Then Andrew slammed the door shut with force and pinned Katherine against it.

She looked at his bloodshot eyes. "Andrew, what are you doing?"

He narrowed his eyes. "You tell me."

"Katherine, remember, this is the punishment for asking for a divorce."

Katherine hadn't even finished speaking when Andrew suddenly lost control and kissed her roughly.

"Mm…"

Katherine struggled hard, but as a woman, she couldn't fight off Andrew's strength from years of working out.

His kiss was full of anger and frustration, like he was trying to pour all his emotions into it.

Her lips were painfully pressed by his, and their teeth clashed, sending a sharp sting through her mouth.

She tried to push him away, but Andrew held her tightly, not letting her move.

"Andrew, let go of me!" Her voice trembled with fear.

But he didn't seem to hear her. He continued kissing her forcefully.

His hands tugged at her clothes with no gentleness.

Katherine felt hopeless. Tears slid from the corners of her eyes.

She couldn't understand why Andrew had suddenly become like this.

Was it just because she asked for a divorce? Or had he always been hiding resentment?

He had always acted like he hated this marriage.

"Andrew, please don't do this…" she begged, her voice shaking.

But he didn't care about her reaction. His eyes were wild, full of possessiveness.

Katherine's heart sank. She slowly closed her eyes, as if giving up on resisting.

At first, Andrew hadn't planned to kiss her. But when he saw her stubborn face, a strong urge rushed over him. He wanted to punish her.

But once he kissed her, he couldn't pull away.

He didn't want just a kiss. Deep inside, he wanted more.

He leaned closer to her ear and whispered, "Katherine, if you stay with me tonight, I'll sign the divorce papers tomorrow morning."

Her eyes flew open. She stared at him in disbelief.

"Are you serious?" she asked, watching his face closely.

Andrew looked into her eyes and hesitated for a moment. He regretted what he said but still forced himself to answer, "Yes."

Katherine only wanted to get out of this loveless marriage. She gave a quiet reply, "Okay."

Andrew didn't say another word. He picked her up and walked quickly toward the stairs.

"Which room is it?" His voice was low and firm.

Katherine was slightly stunned, then answered softly, "Second room upstairs."

He carried her up the stairs without stopping.

In the bedroom, he placed her on the bed.

Then he leaned over her, his body heavy and close.

Though Katherine felt pain, she bit her lip and didn't make a sound.

After it ended, Andrew looked at her sleeping face, his heart full of mixed feelings.

She was actually a v*rg*n.
