Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Katherine had been busy for two full hours before she finally returned to her office.

She reached out to open the drawer and took out a file that had already been prepared.

Then she picked up her phone from the desk and scheduled a courier pickup online.

In her heart, she thought, Andrew, as long as you sign this document, you'll finally have your freedom.

She chose the fastest express delivery service. Less than twenty minutes later, the delivery guy arrived at her office door and called out loudly, "Who needs to send a package here?"

Hearing the voice, Katherine quickly stood up. "I need to send a package."

She hurried to the office door, clutching the important file tightly in her hand.

The delivery guy looked at her and said, "Miss, please fill in the recipient's detailed address."

Katherine knew Andrew would definitely be working at Yu Group after returning to the country, so she didn't hesitate to write down his company's address.

That way, once Andrew signed for the file, everything would be settled.

Assistant Ryan had just come back and was heading upstairs when the receptionist called out to him. "Assistant Ryan, there's a delivery for the President. Could you please bring it up to him?"

He frowned. "A delivery for the President? Who sent it?"

The receptionist checked and said, "It's from Concord People's Hospital."

Isn't that where the Madam works?

Could it be that the Madam sent something to the boss?

Ryan took the package. "Alright, I'll bring it to him now."

Andrew looked at the package in Ryan's hand. "Where did this come from?"

"Concord People's Hospital."

"If I remember right, that's where the Madam works," Ryan added.

Andrew had never really asked where Katherine worked. He only heard from Ryan that she was a surgeon.

Hearing it was from Katherine, Andrew slowly reached out and took the package.

He thought to himself, So she knows I'm back, but she still won't contact me.

When he opened the package and took out the file folder inside, his eyelid twitched slightly.

He couldn't help but feel suspicious. What exactly is she sending me?

He carefully opened the folder and took out a single sheet of paper.

When he saw the big words Divorce Agreement and her handwritten signature at the bottom, his face turned dark immediately.

She actually wanted a divorce!

Why should she be the one to bring up divorce?

Back then, it was her who used her grandfather's influence to force him into marrying her.

Now she wanted a divorce? What did that even mean?

Andrew didn't even bother reading the rest of the document. He crumpled it into a ball and threw it hard onto the floor.

His jaw tightened as he gritted out, "Ryan, where is Katherine living now?"

Ryan had anticipated his boss might ask this, so he had looked it up the night before.

"Boss, from what I found out, she's living in an apartment she bought near Concord Hospital."

"Send me the address. I'll go find her tonight." Andrew's voice was cold.

"Alright."

Just as Ryan responded, someone knocked on the office door.

Andrew took a moment to calm himself. "Come in."

The next moment, Charlotte pushed the door open and walked in wearing high heels. Her voice was sweet and soft. "Andrew, are you busy?"

When Andrew saw Charlotte, he frowned. "Charlotte, why are you here?"

Charlotte smiled brightly. "I had the day off today, so I thought I'd come see you. And I wanted to visit Xin Yu too. I haven't been here in a while. It feels a lot bigger than before."

As she spoke, she placed the snacks she brought on the coffee table and walked gracefully toward Andrew.

But she had barely taken a few steps when her foot accidentally kicked the crumpled paper on the floor.

She instinctively bent down and picked it up. When she saw the words Divorce Agreement, her eyes lit up.

Amazing!

Katherine actually asked for a divorce from Andrew. This was perfect!

That awful woman was finally going to be out of his life.

She had always believed that no one else deserved to be Mrs. Zhou more than her.

Just as Charlotte got excited and was about to read the agreement carefully, Andrew walked over, snatched the paper from her hand, and said coldly, "There's nothing worth reading here."

Then he folded the paper and stuffed it into his pocket.

Charlotte wasn't bothered by his cold tone, because she was feeling extremely happy at that moment.

That woman was finally leaving Andrew.

Pretending as if she hadn't seen anything, she hooked her arm around his. "Andrew, come eat some cake. I made your favorite tiramisu."

Every time Ryan saw Charlotte, he felt annoyed. She clearly knew the boss was married but still clung to him shamelessly.

The Madam probably saw the photos of them having dinner last night. That's likely why she sent the divorce papers today.

But the boss kept indulging Charlotte.

Ryan really didn't understand what the boss was thinking.

Sometimes, he truly felt sorry for the Madam.

Ever since Andrew received the divorce agreement, his mood had been terrible.

He didn't hear a single word Charlotte said while she sat beside him talking.

"Andrew, Andrew..." Charlotte called out a few times, but he didn't respond. She grew annoyed and placed the cake on the table.

But because she was careless, the cake spilled all over the coffee table.

"Andrew, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. My hand slipped," Charlotte said in a pitiful tone.

Andrew ignored her and simply said, "Charlotte, go home for now. I still have work to do."

Then he walked toward his desk.

Charlotte clenched her fists on her lap. Katherine, I was able to pull Andrew away from you two years ago. I can still make you divorce now.

After sending out the divorce agreement, Katherine felt a relief she had never experienced before.

A marriage without love was nothing but a cage.

Today, she finally had a rare moment of peace. After work, she went to the market and bought some groceries before heading home.

She spent an hour and a half cooking three dishes and one soup. Looking at the table, her eyes grew red.

Her grandfather had once told her that Andrew liked homemade food. So she had learned all his favorite dishes from Aunt Lan.

She had believed that love could grow after marriage. But she had been completely wrong. How could an outsider ever compare to the woman in his heart?

Katherine poured herself a glass of wine.

Maybe starting tomorrow, she and Andrew would have nothing to do with each other anymore.
