Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Kazuma Satou,The king of grind

Kazuma Wakes Up in the Capital

Kazuma Satou opened one eye. Then the other. No sign of Aqua. No smell of Axel. No croaking.

He sat up in a shadowed alleyway.

"Either I drank too much last night or this is a new flavor of hell." Kazuma says as he scratched his head in confusion recalling last night's event

He peeked out onto the cobblestone street. Beastmen,Merchants, Elves. Was that a knight riding a giant frickin lizard?

Kazuma processed it all in a second.

'Okay. Isekai world #2. No party. No respawns. No Explosion loli. Better play this smart.'

He watched a little girl pickpocket a silver haired girl

Kazuma took two steps back into the alley.

'Pretty girl chasing a thief? Sounds like the kind of plot that ends with me dying. Hard pass'

Kazuma wandered the capital with caution, mentally mapping escape routes and keeping his mouth shut. He passed the Guild, scoped out the markets, and noticed an abundance of well-dressed nobles looking down on everyone who didn't sparkle.

He sidestepped a merchant trying to hawk cursed trinkets, ducked into a back alley, and lifted a silver coin off a noble who wasn't paying attention.

"Kazuma Satou, king of the grind," he whispered, slipping the coin into his pocket.

He took a job repairing roof tiles. Boring. Safe. Respectable. The guild lady didn't even ask for his background. Just raised an eyebrow at his name.

"Kazu Mitsu?" She smiles then said "Interesting name lad"

To which kazuma just smiles

That night, in the cheapest inn he could find, Kazuma counted his meager coins and scribbled in a stolen notebook by candlelight.

Rule 1: Don't trust nobles.

Rule 2: Pretty girls = death flags.

Rule 3: Play it slow and steady

He leaned back in the creaky bed and stared at the wooden ceiling.

"I can survive this. No Aqua. No Darkness. No Megumin. Just me and my god-tier paranoia." He hyped himself up in the new world that he's in

A drunken brawl started downstairs.

Kazuma sighed, rolled over, and pulled the pillow over his head
