Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty -Seven: The Door of Silence

The door groaned open like a dying god exhaling its final breath.

Darkness spilled out—not absence of light, but the presence of something ancient, forgotten, and watching. The moment Indra stepped through, the air changed. Time lost meaning. His heartbeat didn't echo. Even the storm inside him hushed.

Kaelari followed, but only barely. She gripped his arm, her voice no louder than a whisper. "I can't feel the wind anymore."

Indra said nothing.

The chamber beyond was circular and vast, the ceiling veiled in void. At its center stood a massive stone monolith, carved with twelve shifting glyphs—each representing a lost dominion of power. A cracked orb floated above the monolith, encased in fractured divine runes, chained by threads of dying starlight.

The seventh seal on Indra's arm began to glow violently. His breath caught.

He barely nodded. The world fractured.

Within the Mind-Echo

He stood in a sky without ground.

Before him, a throne of lightning. Empty.

To his left, a storm-scorched battlefield with shadows of him killing endless enemies. To his right, a peaceful glade where a boy with silver hair laughed, barefoot, under the sun — before flames devoured it.

A voice echoed — his own, but ancient and cold:

"Who are you, when the storm is silent?"

Figures began to materialize.

• His past self — as a child, frightened, alone.

• His present self — powerful, scarred, proud.

• A future version — cloaked in golden lightning, eyes blind, blood on his hands.

The three Indras stared at one another, and then all turned toward the monolith that floated in the center of this mental plane — carved with a single question in celestial tongue:

"Will you bind fate, or be bound by it?"

Suddenly, a monstrous figure surged from the sky — not beast, but belief. A being made of his doubts, fears, guilt, and wrath. It wore the face of someone he failed long ago. Kaelari? His adoptive father? His true lineage?

No… it wore all of them.

The fight was brutal.

No weapon worked until Indra let go of resistance. He embraced the pain. Accepted the memory. Chose to remember. As the creature lunged for him again, he spoke aloud:

Sanskrit:

"ṛtaṁ ca satyaṁ ca abhīdvāt tapaso'dhyajāyata |tato rātriḥ ajāyata tataḥ samudro arṇavaḥ ||"

Translation:

"From heat was born truth and cosmic order;from that was born the night, and from night the primordial ocean."

With that, lightning exploded from within him, purging the creature into fractal dust. The monolith cracked.

Back in Reality

Indra collapsed to his knees in front of the true monolith. Kaelari held him, shouting his name.

The seventh seal shattered — not violently, but like glass turning to rain.

The orb above the monolith pulsed once — and vanished, leaving only a faint shimmer.

Indra rose slowly. His eyes were not just blue anymore — they reflected constellations, as though the stars themselves were now watching through him.

Kaelari exhaled. "What… did you just do?"

Indra looked ahead, calm but distant. "I opened something that was never meant to be opened alone."

He looked back at the doorway. Faint echoes whispered from behind them. The dungeon was awakening.

So was the world.
