[ClosestPervert: Holy?! We got underage here?!]
[FailedBlade: Seems like @CommonMan has some wild taste…]
[CommonMan: Nope, didn't invite her personally. The system just put a blindfold on and randomly dealt the card.]
[FailedBlade: Random? You mean we're here merely by accident?]
[CommonMan: That's a way to say that, but yeah. Even I get selected randomly too.]
[SideDriver: Ouch…]
I then checked the chat group really carefully, then found out the Setting option on the edge of the screen. After some moment of close inspection, I finally get what I seek, but not what I originally expected.
"Only 2 options…?"
That's right, there's only 2 options to pick for your group display name. One is for those wacky things we currently use, but the other one… is the option to display the full real name.
In short, we either risked our own privacy, or stuck with those idiots' names while in here, with no in between.
Dang, this system… It got me real good.
[CommonMan: Well, I found the setting for the nickname here…]
[ClosestPervert: Where?!]
[CommonMan: Well… it's kinda complicated.]
I then quickly explained details to everyone in the chat, and everyone started to fall silent.
[FailedBlade: I see…]
[ClosestPervert: Ugh…]
[SideDriver: Hm…]
I also fall into silence just like them, wracking my brain for the solution. Keeping this nickname isn't that horrible, as mine is the most normal one around here, but the others did possess some controversial namesake to say the least.
And, just my own hypothesis, what if more members join this chat group in the future? Many of them may get some idiot name like… well, best not to think so much into this.
In other cases, giving up our name here wouldn't cause much of a problem, since you need actual authorities or some dedication into finding our own location, which could be troublesome and time-consuming.
And, as the name "Multiverse Chat Group" implies, there's no guarantee that any of us reside in the same world, so the risk of revealing our real name could be even lower than it should be.
But then, the solution, or more appropriately, trouble, comes unexpectedly.
[Aya Koda: Well, my name's Aya Koda. Please help me in the future.]
[FailedBlade: What?! Did you just… tell your name?!]
[Aya Koda: Yep, I solve the problem for everyone now. Happy?]
[ClosestPervert: … Hold on a sec.]
The spiky teenager suddenly remembered something from Aya name and started to run for the nearest bookstore, and quickly found out the connection.
[ClosestPervert: … You don't accidentally have short red hair and like wearing a duffle coat right?]
[Aya Koda: What?! How do you know about that?!]
Aya loudly yells at the surprising revelation of the message, wondering how the heck does this guy know about that.
And with that, I immediately figure out the whole thing alongside this guy, although it's quite surprising that he's the one to uncover all that.
[ClosestPervert: Holy?! You are Aya Koda from Bungo Stray Dog!!]
[Aya Koda: Eh…? Bungo… what?]
[ClosestPervert: Long story short, it's a manga series of unnatural abilities mixed with detective tropes. And you, in this story, are merely a side character.]
[Aya Koda: Side character?!]
Even though she was just 10, she did know what this guy implied. She, who holds the dream of becoming a hero to follow her father's footsteps, is just merely an irrelevant character in some action story…
[Jouno Tsukami: Let's skip that for now and finalize our naming decision. For me, you know the drill.]
I quickly turned the attention gathered around Aya into me, as the guy earlier started to comment on my namesake.
[ClosestPervert: Huh, so that's your name. Don't feel that impact though.]
Unimpressive… Shocker.
[Jouno Tsumaki: Well then, since Aya and I have already volunteered, anyone wanted to expose themself?]
I casually message everyone with this question, and everyone then falls into silence once again before sending the message again.
[Saruyama Kenichi: Howdy, the name Saruyama Kenichi.]
[Kasumi Miwa: My name Kasumi Miwa.]
[Shinji Iwakura: I'm Shinji Iwakura]
I widen both my eyes this time, realizing which verse they reside in. These are just side characters that existed for the sake of the plot, and some even just… there.
So this is what Lady Luck has for me… wouldn't say terrible thou.
[Saruyama Kenichi: Wow… how sad…]
[Jouno Tsukami: Yep.]
Saruyama expressed his condolences to everyone in the chat, leaving me startled a bit. This feels similar to when I failed to get Elysia despite burning all those precious crystals…
Yeah, I take all my compliments about my luck back. My luck isn't good, it's horrible.
[Kasumi Miwa: What do you mean by that?]
Kasumi expressed her worry in the chat, and then get downpour brutally by Saruyama. Everyone else, not so much.
[Saruyama Kenichi: Miwa, you are the weakest in the damn story. You even gave up all your technique just to strike one strong attack against the big bad, which get blocked effortlessly by that same guy.]
[Aya Koda: Wait, big bad…? Is she like a hero?]
[Saruyama Kenichi: Not on the frontline, but yes. She kind of stood with the goods, but she didn't do anything significant for them…]
[Aya Koda: Wow… that is horrible.]
Aya's face expressed a bit of awkwardness after Saruyama's explanation, while Saruyama seeks Kasumi stories in the store, the Jujutsu Kaisen, for more specific details.
I then take back control from Saruyama and make a question to everyone in the group.
[Jouno Tsumaki: Well then… since we know our names already, may I ask for your time also? You know, to clarify the timeline.]
[Aya Koda: … Don't tell me you also have the Bungo book thingy on your side?]
[Jouno Tsukami: Precisely. Wanna have a peek?]
[Aya Koda: Such nonsense… But well, I can give it a try.]
[Kasumi Miwa: Well then…]
Right after I post my message to the group, everyone posts their time in the chat along with the current major event on their side.
I then carefully inspected them and got some idea about their current time that matches with the story, since everything they provided is quite hard to point out in the original work.
Miwa time is seemingly one month before Yuuji makes up his mind and kicks in the whole plot, while Aya time is around Ranpo first cases in the manga, so a bit after the beginning.
All in all, I would say that their time isn't horrible or anything. I mean, Miwa time could've been at Shibuya arc, or Aya time could have happened right before the airport thingy.
Well… should I spoil them the whole thing?
After much thought, I decided against that idea. For once, even if i told them directly about that, what'll they do after knowing?
Aya is too frail to go against any ability user, much less interfere with the plot. Miwa is too weak to deal with some major threat, so I doubt she can actually do something with Kenjaku.
Besides, with the sudden appearance of this chat group, who knows how much has been changed at this moment from its original work?
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hunting Dogs knocking at Aya's door tomorrow, or Miwa getting railed by Four Heavenly Special Grade Curse overnight?
For the Shinji guy, I can't seem to pinpoint his stories anywhere at this moment, probably need to dig deeper after. He seemed disappointed that I couldn't tell his story, but he quickly waved it off.
I also can't contact Saruyama for a while now, he is probably unconscious after getting brutally beat-up by the bystander girls with that attitude of his…
I then started to speak about everything that happened in their respective verse along my own advice, and the whole atmosphere then fell into silence once again after that.
Yep, this might take a long while…
