A loud sound echoed through the whole room, quickly dragging me out from the void.
"Ugh…"
Let our a tired yawm, I slowly rise myself up from the bed and look at the phones, the source of the sound.
Still 6 AM, plenty of times until school.
I slowly dragged myself out of the bed to the bathroom, and a nice splash to the face with water immediately cleansed away the last of my drowsiness.
Phew, that was refreshing…
I put on my uniform and came down to the kitchen to make a simple breakfast to go and headed out.
The sky today is clear and bright, with countless clouds covering the sky, making the whole thing look more like a painting.
I wonder what it will look like at dusk, surely the sky will be nothing short of majestic…
While walking to school, I decided to check the chat group.
No activities since last night…
That was expected, since everyone just got this out of nowhere for less than a day, and no one in this group is talkative, although I'm not certain about that Shinji guys though.
But the name, Shinji, really reminds me of something… Something "holy".
I should check that later, but I hope it's not what I was thinking about.
But the reason I open this is not to just check on everyone's status.
Based on everyone's reaction, it seems like my theory that no one beside myself can see the group chat is correct…
"Yo!"
A cheerful sound abrupt my thought, and an arm quickly hung around my neck. I don't even need to look back to check who that was, since this is pretty much my usual routine.
"Yo, Kisame. How's last night?"
"Terrible, almost passed out after having a blast. Barely make it home."
I let out a sigh asking him, and he answered my question with a dissatisfied expression.
"Whatever, I'm still not old enough for alcohol ya know?"
"Yeah yeah… But I will convince you one day though."
Kisame straight up promised me with a wide grin on his face, and I let out a second sigh. Although the content did seem a bit out of line, this is just merely a joke from both of us.
And yes, Kisame actually never drinks alcohol and is just kidding about all that. He actually never was a delinquent or some sort, he just aspired to take the appearance of one.
Speaking of which, personally, he did look good with all those delinquent looks. Even not as far as dyeing his hair and tattooing his body, his appearance and atmosphere can make people mistaken him as one at first glance.
Not that I have anything against his dream though…
"So, what's your plan for this afternoon?"
"Shopping, I would say."
"That's lame ~"
Kisame mumbled with a dissatisfied voice, but his expression doesn't seem to express that. Even though he acted a bit dramatic, he's actually quite a great companion once you know him long enough.
"Maybe tomorrow, for now let's get you over this damn test first."
"Agree."
With that, both of us walk into the school, heading for the test that troubled Kisame for quite a while.
The test itself isn't that hard though, but the number of questions it has is astounding. 100 questions in 15 minutes, that is just beyond ridiculous for everyone else.
No one knows what the points of this test are, as it contains little to no significance for our final grade score.
I have some doubts about the purpose of this test, but no concrete evidence.
We quickly finished the test and the first 2 subjects, and by the time we were aware it's already break time.
"Here, this time I made sandwiches."
"Hell yeah!"
With an excited grin, Kisame immediately devoured the sandwich I just showed him. I let out a slight smile watching him eat my food, and then I turned to eat mine too.
The taste is nothing short of excellent, which is expected. I was slowly going through my breakfast with Kisame by side.
[Ding!]
Suddenly, my ear caught on a faint chime sound while I was enjoying breakfast. Within moments I realized what the sound came from and started to check back the group chat.
[Saruyama Kenichi: @everyone.]
[Jouno Tsukami: ?]
[Aya Koda: What the…?]
What a surprise… Somehow Saruyama figured out how to ping us in the chat.
Come to think of it, he did ping me yesterday also…
Maybe his world is more advanced than in the original work?
[Saruyama Kenichi: Check this out!!]
Right after that message, another screen then pop-up right beside the chat, showing the place resembling a rooftop.
Is this… a livestream? From Saruyama?
Damn, this Saruyama guy. He found out more than I did in such a short time… Gotta respect him for that though.
[Sauryama Kenichi: See for yourself.]
And with that, the screen swiftly changes to a figure, and I almost spill out my food on the spot.
"Ya okay?"
"Yeah yeah… I'm good."
Kisame asked me after I suddenly acted so strange, and I immediately relieved him with a response…
Although, that would be a lie. Who could keep their cool after "that"?
In the center of the livestream right now is a tall girl with an undeniable sharp and attractive figure, with long pink hair all the way down to her waist.
She's wearing some type of bodysuit with a weird hat on top, but the most noticeable thing about her is the bat wings at her back waist with a tail that moves slightly.
[Aya Koda: Beautiful…]
Aya types down her honest feelings about the girl, and I gotta agree with her on this one. The beauty of that girl is out of this world, and that's not even an exaggeration.
Because, the girl's identity is not from this very planet… but from the Deviluke planet.
[Jouno Tsukami: Lala Satalin Deviluke?]
[Saruyama Kenichi: Yep.]
I asked her on the group chat for confirmation, although that won't be necessary since her look is exactly the same as in the manga, albeit more spectacle, and Saruyama then confirmed that to me.
[Aya Koda: Lala… Devil?]
[Jouno Tsukami: Oh right, let me explain…]
I then gave a brief info about the girl to Aya, who was still in confusion about all this, after regaining my own consciousness after a while.
[Aya Koda: She's a real princess…?!]
[Jouno Tsukami: Indeed. And even a terrifying one.]
[Jouno Tsukami: … Wait, why are you with her right now, Saruyama?!]
I then started to have some doubts after close inspection of the live stream, which seemed to only feature both of them on the rooftop.
But why there…? This situation is truly weird…?
Based on her outfit and Saruyama's previous reactions, I would certainly say that this is Lala's first time at Rito school. But he's not supposed to be with her at this time, or any other time, yet…?
[Saruyama Kenichi: Welp, to let Rito meet Lala without being disrupted.]
[Jouno Tsukami: What…?]
[Saruyama Kenichi: Explaining in detail would be too long. In short, she spotted me first and flew down asking for Rito, and I then decided to call him up here at Lala's request.]
Saruyama's explanation leaves me in awe.
Okay… everything started to stray in some unpredicted direction right now…
[Saruyama Kenichi: Don't get the wrong idea, I still wanted to ask her out. I mean, who wouldn't fall for such outstanding beauty?]
This guy…
But if that's the case… Doesn't that sound more impressive?
To have such a calm attitude with Lala out of all people is literally quite some feat…
[Saruyama Kenichi: Besides, since she's here already, wouldn't it be best to call him here for a proper talk?]
… I messed up real good.
But this could be a good thing. Maybe this could have some better outcome than what it should be…
I silently let out a sigh, eyes still gluing on the live stream while still eating the sandwiches with Kisame by my side…
