Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The [Agriculture] Skill Might Be Better Than I Thought

Technically speaking, I don't have infinite HP or MP. But since neither of them runs out no matter how much I try, they might as well be infinite, right? It's confusing—even the System can't fully explain how that works. Apparently, she accidentally drained a huge chunk of her creator's divine power and injected it into my soul. That accident? Now it's a permanent part of who I am.

I don't know where this constant energy flow comes from—could it be from the environment, maybe some hidden energy source? But if that were the case, wouldn't my parents have noticed something weird by now? Especially with how absurdly strong they are?

Anyway, let's leave that existential mess for future Leon to worry about. The System recently unlocked a new feature—now I can see the descriptions of my skills. Though they're basic, they still offer some insight.

---

[Royal Elven Lineage]

Grants the traits of royal elven heritage. Your affinity for magic and spirit communication is significantly enhanced. Magic and Mana stat growth is boosted by 100%. You are naturally favored by spirits, and if one bonds with you, Spirit Magic becomes available.

---

I hadn't realized this thing was so… absurd. I mean, a 100% growth buff? That's insane—if I wasn't locked out of stat progression due to the glitch. Unfortunately, I can't benefit from any stat growth or new skill unlocks through normal means.

Thankfully, the System told me that just because my system-stats are frozen, it doesn't mean my real body and magic can't grow. But Spirit Magic? That might still be possible if I go old-school and earn it manually. Honestly, I'm getting used to this whole "glitched life" thing. If the game won't give me progression the easy way, I'll just have to put in the grind.

---

[Agriculture]

Class Skill – Farmer

Lets you identify plant species, their condition, quality, and growth potential. Grants the ability to channel mana to nurture, enhance, and control plant growth.

---

Now this is what I've been waiting to test! Until now, I hadn't used it much—mostly because it required seeds. But I've secretly saved a few from the Eden Apples I've been munching on. With my absurd stamina recovery, I've been shoveling down fruits and dragon meat like a starving bear. It's time to put this skill to the test.

---

[Lesser Fire Magic: Ember]

The weakest Fire-type spell. Costs 10 MP to produce a small flame. Can light candles or illuminate small areas. Not viable for combat. Easily snuffed by wind.

Cooldown: None.

---

Okay, ouch. That hurts a little. You didn't have to phrase it like that, System. Even so, this spell has become one of my most abused tools. Thanks to my limitless MP and the fact that it has no cooldown, I can chain-cast Ember and combine the flames into a larger attack. I'm pretty sure my parents are suspicious about how I manage it, calling it my "unique style of spellcraft."

---

[Mana Usage]

Basic skill for manipulating mana. Enables raw mana manipulation without prior experience. High mana costs. Can be refined with practice. This is the lowest level of the Mana Usage skill line, beneath Mana Manipulation and Mana Mastery.

---

So this is just the entry-level stuff. Still, it's what allowed me to shape and compress mana in the first place. Without it, I'd still be throwing Embers like a caveman. The more I train it, the more efficient I get. Even if it's weak on paper, it's my foundation.

That's everything I've got. These four skills might not look like much, but they're mine—and I'll master them, no matter how long it takes. In my previous life, I had nothing. This time? I've got a second chance, and I plan to make the most of it.

Now, back to work.

I held the tiny black seed in my palm—an Eden Apple seed. Time to use [Agriculture] and [Mana Usage] together.

"Let's see what you can do…"

I channeled mana into the seed using both skills simultaneously.

FLASH!

Whoa! The seed glowed with golden and emerald light, trembling in my palm. That's new.

Crack.

A fissure appeared on its shell, and a delicate blue sprout emerged, wriggling slightly. It was… tiny. Just half a centimeter tall. And then—

Throb.

A jolt of pain hit my forehead.

"Ghh…!"

Why does something so small hurt this much?! I thought I could make it grow into a small tree on my first go! Guess I got ahead of myself.

Still, a sprout with a leaf on the first try? Not bad. I should just nurture it day by day. Besides, this body's still not used to channeling magic like this. I can't expect to pull off miracles yet.

I held the sprout up proudly as my mother walked into the room, apparently sensing my mana usage.

"Leon, are you using magic again?"

I fumbled through some baby gibberish, holding up the glowing seed like a prized trophy.

"Huh? A sprout…? Wait—did you grow this?"

I nodded like my life depended on it.

"Amazing! You have an affinity for Nature Magic? You're growing plants already?"

Again, I nodded. Seeing her eyes light up made my efforts worth it.

She clutched the seed and ran outside. "Allan! Come see what Leon made!"

Soon enough, Dad came rushing in.

"Leon, this… you grew this sprout? This is from an Eden Apple… These seeds usually need fifty years in a Spiritual Spring to grow, and you did it just like that?!"

I blinked.

Wait—what?!

No wonder it gave me a headache! This wasn't a normal seed; it was a magical relic or something.

So… yeah. Maybe this skill is more busted than I thought.

Let's keep going.
