It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Linda had gone out for her usual jog. Mr. and Mrs. Lee saw this as an opportunity to sneak out and attend the meeting with Regina's parents at the school.
They arrived at the school, looking a bit nervous. Mrs. Kara, the principal, greeted them warmly and led them to the conference room.
As they entered the conference room, Mr. Lee's eyes widened in surprise. "You're... you're the George?" he stammered, recognizing the influential businessman.
Mr. George smiled, aware of Mr. Lee's admiration. "The one and only. And you're the owner of that small company I've been considering for a potential partnership."
Mr. Lee's demeanor changed, his tone becoming more cautious. "Yes, that's right. We're... honored that you'd consider working with us."
Despite his newfound wariness, Mr. Lee tried to defend Linda. "I understand that Regina is your daughter, but our daughter has been subjected to bullying and harassment. We just want to ensure that everyone is treated with kindness and respect."
Mr. George scoffed. "Bullying? I'm sure Regina would never do such a thing. You're just being overly sensitive."
Miss Flora, seated beside Mr. George, nodded in agreement. "Yes, let's not blow things out of proportion."
As the meeting progressed, Mr. George's tone turned threatening. "If you pursue this matter further, I'll reconsider our potential partnership. Your company could greatly benefit from our collaboration, and I wouldn't want any... misunderstandings to jeopardize that. " He said sharply. "I'm shocked that you're wasting my time with this petty issue. Regina is a wonderful girl, and I'm sure she's done nothing wrong."
Mrs. Lee still tried to reason with him, but Mr. George wouldn't listen. "I have a contract with your company, and I expect you to handle this situation accordingly. Any negative impact on my daughter's reputation could harm our business relationship."
The Lees felt intimidated, and the meeting ended with Mr. George dictating the terms. The Lees reluctantly agreed to drop the matter, fearing the consequences of crossing Mr. George.
As they left the school, Mr. and Mrs. Lee looked defeated, knowing they had been outmaneuvered by Mr. George's wealth and influence.

The next day, Linda arrived at school, unaware of the meeting that had taken place between her parents and Regina's. As she walked down the hallway, Regina approached her, a smug look on her face.
"Hey, black girl," Regina said, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You didn't know about the meeting, did you?"
Linda's confusion was evident. "What meeting?" she asked, feeling a sense of unease.
Regina gloated, "Oh, you didn't know? Your parents were so pathetic. They met with my parents, and they got shut down. My parents told them to back off and leave us alone."
Linda's eyes widened in shock, feeling betrayed by her parents' actions. "They went behind my back?" she thought to herself.
The other students began to snicker and whisper to each other, making comments about Linda's parents and their failed meeting. Regina continued to mock Linda, enjoying the attention and laughter from their classmates.
The teacher's arrival prevented things from escalating further. "What's going on here?" she asked, her voice firm.
The students dispersed, and Regina smiled innocently. Linda, however, felt humiliated and hurt, wondering why her parents had disregarded her wishes and interfered in her problems.
That day was particularly hard for Linda. Every lesson felt like a struggle, her mind consumed by thoughts of Regina's mocking and her parents' betrayal. She'd sit in class, trying to focus on the teacher's words, but her thoughts would drift back to the hurtful comments.
Sometimes, she'd excuse herself and rush to the washroom, locking herself in a stall to cry until the end of the lesson. The sound of her own sobs was the only thing that seemed to match the emptiness she felt inside.
After school, Linda was too upset to take a taxi, so she trekked home, her emotions still raw and painful. The walk gave her some time to process her feelings, but it didn't ease the hurt and frustration she felt towards Regina and her parents.
As Linda walked through the front door, her parents greeted her with their usual warm smiles. "Hey, sweetie! How was your day?" her mom asked, expecting a cheerful response.
But Linda wasn't having it. She brushed past her, her face set in a determined expression. "Just leave me alone," she muttered, trying to sidestep her siblings, who were eager to hug and cling to her as usual.
Her little brother and sister, Jack and Emily, were confused by Linda's sudden change in behavior. "Linda, what's wrong? Why are you being like this?" Jack asked, his voice filled with concern.
Linda ignored them, heading straight upstairs. Her parents exchanged worried glances, sensing that something was amiss.
"Linda, honey, what's wrong?" her mom asked again, following her upstairs. "You seem really upset. Did something happen at school?"
At first, Linda tried to hold it together, but her mom's gentle probing was the final straw. She turned to her parents, her eyes welling up with tears.
"Why did you go behind my back?" Linda demanded, her voice shaking with emotion. "I told you not to interfere! You always make things worse for me!"
The dam broke, and Linda's tears flowed freely. She sobbed uncontrollably, her body shaking with pain and frustration.
"Why did you do it, Mom? Why did you let Mr. George bully you into dropping the issue?" Linda cried, her voice cracking with emotion.
Her parents tried to console her, but Linda was beyond comfort. She pushed them away, her anger and hurt boiling over.
The drama unfolded in the living room, with Linda's siblings watching in confusion and concern. Eventually, Linda's emotions became too much to bear, and she turned and ran upstairs, locking herself in her room.
The sound of her sobs echoed through the living room, a poignant reminder of the pain and frustration she was feeling. Her parents looked at each other, feeling helpless and unsure of how to make things right.
After Linda ran upstairs, her parents stood in the hallway, unsure of what to do next. They looked at each other, both feeling helpless and worried about their daughter's well-being.
Mr. Lee suddenly remembered that Linda was particularly close to her younger siblings, Jack and Emily. "Maybe the kids can get through to her," he said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
Mrs. Lee nodded in agreement, and they sent Jack and Emily upstairs to try and comfort Linda. The two siblings climbed the stairs, their little faces filled with concern.
When they reached Linda's room, they found the door locked from the inside. Undeterred, they started crying and begging Linda to open the door. "Linda, pleeease open the door! We love you, and we miss you!" Jack wailed, his voice trembling with fake tears.
Emily joined in, her tiny voice piping up with "Yeah, Lindy! We wanna hug you! Open the door, pwease!"
Linda couldn't resist the adorable pleas of her siblings. She slowly got up from the bed and unlocked the door. Jack and Emily tumbled into the room, their faces lighting up with joy.
As soon as Linda let them in, Jack and Emily wrapped their arms around her, patting and petting her gently. "We love you, Linda!" they chorused, their voices filled with affection.
Linda's heart melted at the sight of her siblings' concerned faces. She hugged them tightly, feeling a wave of love and comfort wash over her. The tension in her body began to ease, replaced by a sense of calm and peace.
As they hugged, Jack and Emily continued to tell Linda how much they loved her, and how they felt better when she was happy. Their innocent words touched Linda's heart, and she felt grateful for their unconditional love and support.
As the siblings cuddled together, their eyelids began to droop, and they slowly drifted off to sleep. Jack's head rested on Linda's shoulder, while Emily snuggled up against her side. Linda, feeling the warmth and comfort of her siblings' presence, soon followed suit, her exhaustion and emotional turmoil finally subsiding.
The three of them slept peacefully, their gentle breathing filling the room. The soft rise and fall of their chests, the occasional twitch of a limb, and the sweet smiles on their faces created a heartwarming scene.
A few minutes later, Mr. and Mrs. Lee tiptoed into the room, not wanting to disturb the peaceful slumber. They stood by the bedside, gazing at their children with warm hearts. Seeing Linda sleeping happily with her siblings brought a sense of relief to their faces.
Mrs. Lee's eyes welled up with tears as she gazed at the tender scene. She felt grateful that her younger children had never judged Linda or made her feel different. They loved and accepted her unconditionally, never asking questions that might hurt her feelings. To them, Linda was just the best big sister in the world, and they adored her.
Mr. Lee put his arm around Mrs. Lee, sharing in her emotions. Together, they watched over their sleeping children, feeling grateful for the love and bond that connected them.
Gently, they covered the three of them with a light blanket, making sure they were cozy and warm. With one last glance, they quietly left the room, leaving the sleeping trio to their peaceful slumber.
