Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 : New Bonds and Future

In the quiet void of his mind, Shin floated between fragments of memory and flashes of emotion — sorrow, anger, love, regret — all colliding and reshaping within him. It felt like drowning in someone else's life, yet every scene etched itself into his soul as if it had always belonged. As the final thread of memory settled, a strange calm washed over him. The weight of a past not his, yet undeniably his, anchored him. Then, like surfacing from deep water, his chest tightened —

---

Shin woke up after some time, somewhat accepting his situation... not that he could change anything. He got up from the bed, and the room felt dark. As he looked outside the window, it was already nighttime.

"Whoa!! For how long was I passed out? I clearly remember it was morning when I blacked out."

He looked at the clock. It was 8:00 PM now.

Just then, he heard strange noises coming from his stomach. Grrr... grrr...

"Guess I'm hungry, huh. I have to eat something, otherwise I might pass out again."

Ignoring the train of thought, he opened the paper door and walked down the stairs. As soon as he got to the kitchen, he noticed his uncle Kazuma sleeping at the table.

He looked over the sleeping man and found bread and milk. His mind immediately screamed, EAT!

Shin hurriedly walked to the meal, which caused him to stumble into a nearby chair. Hearing the loud sound, his uncle Kazuma woke up.

Shin, seeing that Kazuma was now awake, didn't know what to do or how to act.

But the silence was broken by Kazuma.

"Haah, Shin, you finally woke up from your slumber, huh? Took you long enough, kid. Thought you were tougher than that."

His voice was hoarse, likely from sleep or exhaustion, though his tone was playful. Shin immediately noticed the relieved expression on his uncle's face.

Shin stared at him for a second. His instincts screamed to retort to the playfulness his uncle was showing, but he suppressed the urge.

With a slight smirk on his face, he replied,

"Obviously, I'm strong. But it seems your cooking skills were so bad that my body broke down and I fell unconscious."

Kazuma let out a chuckle.

"Well, look at you now. Talking trash after all the struggle I had to go through because of you today. At least I know you didn't hit your head while falling down like a princess."

Seeing Kazuma tease him, Shin couldn't help but shake his head. He didn't know this man, and this was his first conversation with him, but it wasn't awkward.

"I guess the old Shin's closeness to his uncle is the cause of it, huh."

Seeing that his nephew didn't reply, Kazuma got worried and asked,

"Are you alright, Shin?"

Shin, now realizing that he had been silent for too long, broke the silence.

"Yes, uncle. I'm fine... just a little hungry."

After saying this, Shin shifted his gaze to the food on the kitchen counter eagerly.

"Go on, eat. I completely forgot our princess was unconscious the whole day and didn't eat anything," Kazuma continued his trash talk.

Shin shrugged helplessly, pulled the chair, and sat down next to his uncle, then started devouring the food.

Suddenly, his uncle placed his hand on his head and said,

" You did say you had a headache yesterday but didn't think it was this serious..I'm glad you're alright, kid."

A warmth spread through Shin upon hearing his uncle's words.

They sat there in silence for a moment, the heaviness of today's events just beneath the surface. Neither of them spoke and simply soaked in the moment.

After finishing his food, the uncle-nephew duo moved to the hall and talked about small things, which seemed to lighten the mood a bit.

Kazuma brought up the topic of Shin's parents, which seemed to bring some seriousness to the conversation again.

"Listen, Shin... I know your parents are not around anymore. But don't forget, I'm still here for you."

Shin tensed slightly, but he didn't interrupt his uncle.

Kazuma continued,

"You have to continue with your life, Shin. Sure, I may not always be around because of the missions the village and clan give me, but... always remember, I am here."

Shin tightened his fists, realizing that his uncle was carrying a large burden on his shoulders.

"Don't worry," Shin said confidently. "I'll be joining the academy soon, and you already know me—I'm a genius. I'll get strong soon, so you don't have to worry about me."

Kazuma felt a sense of relief after hearing his nephew's confident words.

He spoke after a brief moment of silence.

"Ohhh, my boy is ready to be a shinobi now, eh? Good, good!!"

Shin met his uncle's gaze head-on.

"I need to start training seriously from now on. Sure, the academy will train me, but I know that won't be enough."

He knew what kind of disasters awaited him in the future... Being mediocre or above average would not be enough.

At the same time, I must be careful of the "one-eyed" man from the Root and a certain "mad scientist."( if you know you know >.<)

Kazuma studied him carefully before sighing helplessly.

"You're really serious about this??"

To which Shin just nodded seriously.

Then a small smirk appeared on Kazuma's face.

"Hehe. You sound just like your father when he was young."

Kazuma then leaned forward, his expression more serious now.

"If that's what you've decided, then so be it."

Shin immediately straightened, knowing his uncle was serious now.

"I may not always be there to train you, but that doesn't mean I won't be able to guide you. Remember, only training hard is not enough—you have to be smart. After all, you are from the proud Uchiha clan, and son of Rayuma Uchiha, who was one of the most powerful ninjas in his time."

Shin wanted to know more about his father and mother but decided against asking for details now.

Kazuma continued,

"Tell me then, how are you going to train?"

Shin then got up, ideas forming in his head.

It was time to start planning and preparing for his first training arc.
