Chapter 15 - Chapter 14: Driven to Desperation!

"Hmph! What kind of so-called expert miracle doctor is this? Calling a living man dead—what a quack!" Wang Xu said bluntly and without the slightest courtesy.

In truth, Wang Xu had always despised incompetent doctors and fake experts. Whenever he had the chance, he would use his medical skills to teach those self-proclaimed "experts" a lesson.

"You—!" The bespectacled assistant glared at Wang Xu, visibly fuming.

Several nurses also cast disdainful glances at Wang Xu.

"Li Qiang, that's enough," said the elderly doctor with white hair, raising his hand to stop the bespectacled assistant, then turned to Wang Xu and asked, "Young man, do you know medicine?"

"Give me a set of silver needles. Once I bring the old man back, you'll know if I know medicine or not," Wang Xu choked out.

"You brat! This is a hospital, not a place for you to mess around! If you keep disturbing us and interfering with our work, I'll have security throw you out!" the assistant snapped, unable to tolerate any further disrespect toward the revered Dr. Liu.

"Hah, he looks like a bumpkin and still dares to challenge Dr. Liu? What a joke!"

"I think this guy is mentally ill!"

"Yeah, definitely some kind of nutcase."

Three nurses whispered disdainfully.

"Quick! Get me the silver needles! This patient can't afford any more delay! If he really dies because of your misdiagnosis, can you bear that responsibility?!" Wang Xu shouted, looking directly at the old doctor.

"Young man, we won't let you stir up trouble. The patient has already passed away. What you're doing is disrespectful to the dead!" the short assistant protested strongly.

"Let him try—I don't mind," Lu Qin suddenly sat up and said to the doctors.

She believed in Wang Xu's skills. After all, he had saved her father's life. And since the hospital had already declared her grandfather dead while Wang Xu insisted otherwise, she couldn't help but hold onto a sliver of hope.

Desperate times called for desperate measures. What if a miracle really happened?

"Li Qiang, bring me my silver needle case," Wang Ming ordered calmly.

Though Wang Ming was furious at Wang Xu's words, as a respected senior doctor, he kept his composure.

"Wang Ming, you're really going to let this fool stick needles in a corpse?" the assistant exclaimed in disbelief.

"The patient's family gave consent. Now, let's see how this arrogant young man plans to bring someone back from the dead. If he really pulls it off, I, Wang Ming, will acknowledge him as my master," Wang Ming replied, narrowing his eyes at the assistant, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

His meaning was clear—they were about to watch a clown make a fool of himself.

"Hmph, call me your master? You're not even qualified," Wang Xu snorted inwardly.

In truth, Wang Xu didn't know who Wang Ming was.

This Wang Ming was no quack. On the contrary, he was a true authority in both traditional and modern medicine in Jiangcheng and the entire Huangchen region. He had returned to his hometown after retiring as the director and chief expert of the provincial capital's First Hospital, and had been rehired as the deputy director of Jiangcheng Hospital.

The short assistant didn't dare disobey Wang Ming, so he handed over the needle case.

Wasting no time, Wang Xu asked Lu Qin to turn her grandfather onto his side.

Even though the old man was unconscious, unresponsive, and his body had gone cold, Lu Qin still chose to trust Wang Xu—because in her heart, her beloved grandfather was still alive.

Holding his breath, Wang Xu began performing the special acupuncture technique passed down to him by Master Zhao Tian—the Five Elements Rebirth Needles.

He first targeted the Yongquan point on the sole to activate the postnatal kidney energy, then the Shenque (navel) to awaken the heavenly life energy.

The third needle was inserted into Baihui at the crown of the head to unlock the body's yin-yang barriers.

The fourth needle hit the Dazhui life point on the back, connecting the Ren and Du meridians, the main yin-yang channels.

Before delivering the final needle, Wang Xu paused for several minutes, channeling a precious thread of spiritual energy from his dantian into the old man's body.

Focused and precise, he performed each step with a smooth and masterful flow—every tiny movement executed with expert finesse.

The moment Wang Xu administered the first needle, Wang Ming's eyelids twitched involuntarily, his heart stirring with awe.

As the saying goes: The expert sees the essence, the layman watches the spectacle. He knew instantly—this youth was no amateur.

Wang Ming prided himself on his acupuncture skills. Even among the best in the province, few could match him. Yet today, he had witnessed a true master.

As the second, third, and fourth needles went in, Wang Ming was completely humbled.

The shorter assistant's shock deepened with each needle; his eyes widened in disbelief.

The nurses were dumbfounded. Even though they weren't acupuncture specialists, as medical professionals they could sense something extraordinary.

Lu Qin watched Wang Xu perform this mystical technique for the first time. Though she didn't understand the specifics, she saw a glow around him as he focused. She couldn't explain it—but in that moment, this handsome young man seemed radiant and mesmerizing.

Even if Wang Xu failed to revive the old man today, his skill had already earned Wang Ming's full respect.

But as four needles went in and the old man showed no sign of life, the hope in Lu Qin's heart began to fade.

"Young man, I admit your technique is impressive. But no technique can revive the dead. Let's not waste everyone's time," the short assistant said impatiently.

"I'm not finished yet," Wang Xu replied calmly without lifting his head.

"Li Qiang, be patient. This young man has some real skill. Let's hear him out," Wang Ming said to the assistant.

Wang Xu's final needle targeted one of the most crucial acupoints in the human body. In this Five Dragons Rebirth technique, this final needle held the true power to restore life.

If this last needle didn't work—then there would truly be nothing more they could do.

Resuscitate!

Wang Xu thrust the final needle in a single, lightning-fast motion—so swift that the silver needle whistled slightly as it cut through the air.

"Cough! Ugh… huff… huff!"

Suddenly, the old man's body jolted. He began coughing violently, choking and gasping for breath.

Beep… beep…

At the same time, the vital signs monitors came back to life, displaying normal data again.

Everyone in the emergency room was stunned into silence.

A man who had been declared dead by a top expert… had come back to life.

If the medical staff hadn't been staunch atheists, they might've dropped to their knees on the spot.

"Grandpa! You're alive! Grandpa…!" Lu Qin stood frozen for a second before throwing herself onto her grandfather, crying tears of joy.

"Oh my God! He… he really brought the old man back?!"

"Am I hallucinating? The patient was clearly dead just now!"

"Is this real… or have I seen a ghost?"
