Chapter 2 - First one of many

[Third Person Pov]

In the nothingness and in the everything of the plane of existence, what normally is called "reality", two beings were located in a paradoxical way that could not be understood by minds that thought in the three-dimensional plane. One of these beings exposed what it was thinking to the other.

"Welcome again, child of mine."

The thoughts of this being resonated with the very fabric of reality itself, in this place that was existing and not doing it, that was a place and nowhere at the same time, where light was everywhere and as bright as clusters of stars, but darkness surrounded everything as if the void was consuming it. The other reacted and "voiced" his thoughts.

"Who are you? Where am I? Who am I? What am I? What are you?"

In this place where vacuum was the norm, vibrations were created as the being stated the doubts it had and traveled across the plane, even if it didn't make sense at all. The first being started to answer every single one of them.

"I am what you, in the life that just ended, would have called a father, a mother, the one who created you. For your second question, we are outside of the 'egg'. For your third one, you are my son and everyone at the same time. The answer to the fourth question is that you are what before you would have called a God, and I am one myself."

The being that stated it was the creator of the other was interrupted by this one, the child, who voiced again what it was thinking.

"God? Is that possible? And you said welcome again before."

The creator answered again. This time, the "place" where they were changed in less than the time it takes light to travel from the start of a centimeter to the end. The place was now a road made of concrete, surrounded by trees.

"We define what is possible. Now, let me explain in detail the purpose of this, so please pay attention to your surroundings."

The child did as it was told. In the place was a motorbike that looked as if it was smacked by a wrecking ball. Gasoline poured out of its tank, and a human male was just a couple of meters to the side, resting his body on a tree. He was covered in bruises, and blood poured out of his head as if a fountain was there.

"That person... it's me?!"

Suddenly, the child's appearance changed instantly to the one the man had.

"Yes, that is you, and you are dying."

The creator also changed its appearance—or was it always the same? Its features were of a starry sky and ocean waves at the same time. The child voiced his doubts to its creator.

"It doesn't make sense. I'm here but also there? And why dying? I just—"

Suddenly, the voice of the dying man was heard by both of the beings—a raspy voice that also sounded as if it was drowning, even if it was contradictory and even more so because its mouth wasn't moving.

"I... need to... keep my heart rate stable... I can't afford to keep... losing blood... I already called emergencies... I just need to keep... myself awake."

The thoughts of the man were clear but spaced. The blood that he had already lost made him feel somewhat weaker, and the constant pain that was a reminder of broken bones and torn skin was not helping him, but his will and fear kept him thinking. He slowly moved his body, took his shirt off, and then wrapped his bleeding middle cranial fossa, where the temporal lobe is located.

"I can't... die... not now... not ever... I can't... I don't want to... I don't want to cease to exist..."

Slowly, the heartbeat of the man stabilized, but what he didn't know was that even if the hemorrhage in his head stopped bleeding, the internal ones would slowly but surely kill him. His fate was sealed, but he clung to life at all times.

"Now, let's accelerate this a little bit."

The creator stated, and time started to move forward as if a x10 was applied, until it then stopped and resumed to normal. Slowly, the sounds of an ambulance were heard in the distance. The man noticed it as his eyelids fluttered. The man's thoughts surfaced again.

"That sound... an ambulance...? So that means... I will not... die? Ha... ha... ha... I will not die... I will not... die..."

Just as the ambulance was mere meters from his body and starting to slow down, his brain shut down. As he was distracted by these happy thoughts, his determination to keep himself alive was left aside just for a single second, and that moment was his end.

"So... that's what happened? I died? I'm slowly remembering things from my life."

The "child" spoke to his creator, now that it had a mouth.

"Yes. To put it in simple and fast terms, the universe is what humans would call just an egg. Every single living being that existed throughout the creation and the inevitable end of the universe is actually you—all at the same time—so that when you are ready, you will hatch and become as powerful as I am."

The creator answered, and now the scene changed to that of outer space, just outside of the solar system.

"And every time you die, you come here and I explain it to you... although this time things will be different. For this time, I will take what made your being in that life you just watched and pluck it."

The child decided to question its creator.

"And why would you do that? Is that part not good enough?"

The creator answered this time as calm as it ever was, extending a sort of tentacle with a pixelated heart devoid of color.

"No, but I want to know what would happen if I allowed a part of you to grow on its own, isolated from the influence of the rest, and then when you are ready, assimilate yourself and be whole again. What influence will that make? Perhaps you will hatch, or maybe you will just keep living other lives until you are ready—maybe in eons. My only goal is for you to grow and be my equal."

The child then voiced one last doubt.

"And how will you do that? What will I have to do? When will I be ready to become whole again?"

The creator then inserted the pixelated heart into his son, which was then filled with red color.

"I will send you to one of the realities you created while in the egg—Marvel—as a human from the game you played while alive, called Undertale. Goodbye, child of mine."

Slowly, the child being started to disappear. The creator voiced his thoughts one last time.

"Grow patient, grow brave, grow with integrity, grow perseverant, grow kind, grow just, and stay DETERMINED."

[In the Marvel verse]

[Day 9 of October, Year 1995 – In a hospital in the city of Naperville, Illinois]

A child was born this day. A nurse had the baby in her arms as she gave him light slaps on his rear. The reason was that the baby was not crying, and this was normally something to worry about. After some slaps, although the baby did not cry, he was breathing and conscious by his attempts to move his head. Deciding that the baby was at least not in immediate danger, she gave him to the mother, who decided to speak.

"My baby... your name will be Adrian, like Adir, which means mighty, strong, and majestic..."

The baby, as if acknowledging the name, emitted a sound.

'Well, I guess this is my life now.'

Thought the baby now named Adrian, just as a screen appeared in his mind. This one showed three slots that were instantly filled the moment he was born, all showing the same information:

{Adrian, 0.00}

{Hospital, Earth}

{Save, Load, Reset, Erase}

{Being born in a new world and expecting a bright future fills you with determination}
