Chapter 6 - Getting to know you

Aurora's POV

I had just ended the call with Liam informing me about the lunch date and the dinner with his father later in the evening. I had just gotten out of the bathroom when a package from Liam arrived. I dashed to my door, received the package, and bid the delivery guy goodbye.

"Thank you so much!" I said with a smile. "You're welcome, ma'am. Enjoy your day," the delivery man replied with a friendly smile.

I closed my door and opened the box, my eyes widening at the beautiful bouquet of flowers, the elegant dress, the sparkling jewelry, and the designer heels from a brand called Rubies. A note accompanied the gifts, reminding me that it was all part of the contract. I felt a flutter in my chest but quickly pushed the feelings aside.

I quickly settled down to dress up. The gown was an off-the-shoulder emerald green dress embellished with crystal stones all over it. The heels were ankle-high heels, also in emerald green color, and the signature design of the jewelry matched perfectly with the dress. I settled for a black designer bag to complement the dress. My makeup was a simple, neutral color, and I used a nude lip gloss to finish up the look. My long blonde hair cascaded all the way to my waist, and I stared at my reflection in the full-length mirror, pleased with what I saw.

When I got to Casaroella restaurant, I sighted Liam at the table we were assigned to. I went over to him, and he stood up to pull the chair for me to sit on. I couldn't help but marvel at his look; he looked even more handsome than the last time we met. He was dressed in a navy blue suit with a crisp turquoise inner shirt and tailored pants with slick lines. His polished black shoes gleamed in the light, and his silver watch glistened due to the ray of the chandelier.

"Hello," I said, smiling.

"You look stunning," Liam replied, his eyes scanning my outfit. "You look quite dashing yourself," I added, trying to play it cool.

Liam smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thank you. I'm glad you like it," he said, his voice low and smooth.

The waiter came over to take our order. "Good afternoon, welcome to Casaroella. I'll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with something to drink?" he asked, his smile friendly.

"I'll have the sunset-themed cocktail, please," I said. "And I'll have a glass of scotch," Liam added. We ordered our meals, and the waiter nodded. "I'll get that right out for you. Our special today is the seafood pasta, which I highly recommend."

We both opted for the seafood pasta and cheesecake for dessert. As we waited for our order to arrive, Liam told me that we would discuss the wedding plans with his father over dinner and finalize the arrangements.

"I want to make sure everything is perfect," Liam said, his eyes locked on mine. "I'll make sure to be prepared," I replied, feeling a sense of unease.

The discussion moved from the contract and wedding to simpler things. We talked about our favorite books, movies, and music. I was surprised to find that we had some common interests. As we finished our meal, Liam said , "I think it's time we got going."I nodded, and Liam signaled for the waiter to bring the bill. After paying, we left the restaurant and headed to his car.

"Shall I drive us to my father's estate?" Liam asked. "Or would you prefer to drive separately?"

"Yes, that would be great" I replied. "And maybe we can have your driver follow us with my car, just in case."

Liam nodded. "I'll arrange for that. Let's go."

With that, we set off to Liam's father's estate, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

LIAM'S POV

Casaroella restaurant.

As I sat at the table, waiting for Aurora to arrive, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I had been looking forward to this lunch date all morning, and I was eager to see her again.

When she walked in, I stood up to greet her, and my eyes widened in admiration. She looked stunning in the emerald green dress, her long blonde hair cascading down her back like a golden waterfall. I pulled out her chair, and she smiled as she sat down.

"You look beautiful," I said, trying to sound casual. Aurora smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Thank you. You look quite dashing yourself," she replied, her voice playful. I smiled back, feeling a sense of pleasure at her compliment. I had chosen my outfit carefully, wanting to make a good impression. My navy blue suit was tailored to perfection, and the turquoise inner shirt added a touch of elegance to my overall look.

As we ordered our meals, I couldn't help but notice the way Aurora interacted with the waiter. She was polite, friendly, and gracious, and I found myself feeling more and more drawn to her. When the waiter left, I leaned forward, my eyes locked on hers. "So, we'll be discussing the wedding plans with my father over dinner and finalizing the arrangements," I said. "I want to make sure everything is perfect."

Aurora nodded, her expression determined. "I'll make sure to be prepared," she replied.

I smiled, feeling a sense of reassurance. I knew that Aurora was intelligent and capable, and I had no doubt that she would be able to handle the situation with my father.

As we waited for our food to arrive, we chatted about our favorite books and other light topics. I was surprised to find that we had some common interests, and I found myself feeling more and more comfortable around her.

When our food arrived, we dug in, savoring the delicious flavors and textures. The seafood pasta was exquisite, and I could tell that Aurora was enjoying it just as much as I was.

As we finished our meal, I signaled for the waiter to bring the bill. After paying, we left the restaurant. "Shall I drive us to my father's estate?" I asked Aurora.

"Yes, that would be great," she replied. "And maybe we can have your driver follow us with my car, just in case?"

I nodded, impressed by her practical thinking. "I'll arrange for that," I said, making the necessary arrangements with my driver.

As we got into my car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. What would my father think of Aurora? Would he approve of our arrangement? I glanced over at Aurora, who was looking out the window. She seemed calm and composed, but I could sense a hint of nervousness beneath her surface.

"Let's get going," I said, starting the car. Aurora smiled, and we drove off, the scenery passing by in a blur as we headed to my father's estate.
