When Damien woke up in the morning he was much more refreshed than he had been the previous day. Although he was still bound to the Demon King system, it wasn't too bad. He had food to eat and a place to sleep.
"It's not bad at all!"
Damien repeated this line over and over again for a while and then left his room to head towards his lessons. The first lesson was magical history. The classroom was quite large and at this moment it was filled with students. He headed toward Wayne who was waving to him, ignoring some of the glances from his classmate.
This was the second day of his transmigration but Damien had already sorted out all his memories thoroughly.
His name was Damien Morningstar, first year student at the Hero Academy. All in all, he was a genius student, after all he was the only Lvl.10 mage in the first year, considering this and the fact that he was from a noble family he was actually quite popular at school.
But from his memories, his only real close friend was Wayne.
Just at this moment, the magical history teacher, Francis Mckellen, walked into the classroom.
He was an old man with long white hair and a beak-like nose. He had kind eyes and was very tolerant of the students so he was quite popular. At this time he took out a heavy magic book, placed it on the podium and then said:
"I believe that all of you students have heard about the upcoming tournament."
"I want to inform you that the Warrior Training School is also participating now. At that time both the Elven School of Magic and the Warrior Training School will send out their best students, so everyone needs to be prepared."
"Students who perform well will be able to join the joint demon expedition next month!"
Even though there were rumours throughout the school, now that it was finally confirmed by a teacher, the whole class was excited.
Wayne turned to him and whispered:
"Hey, hey, are you really not going to participate?"
"Not interested."
Damien refused without even thinking about it.
He is now the successor of the Demon King, and the ultimate goal of this tournament was to defeat demons. Rather than exposing his strength, it is better to sit in the audience and look for opponents who may pose a threat to you.
Thinking of this, a little anxiety began to creep in again. He couldn't help but think about all the talented people that would appear next week. What would happen if they knew he was the demon king?
Just imagining hundreds of faces suddenly turning to him with a gleam in their eyes, Damien was somewhat terrified.
He needs to get stronger.
Damien decided to go back to the Church of Evernight tonight and summon the succubus.
So in the afternoon after lessons were over, he ditched Wayne again and quickly headed to the outer city. This time he didn't go directly to the church but wandered around the surrounding area.
He had tried to look up information about the Evernight Goddess at the Hero Academy but he didn't find anything. But in some ways not finding something was more suspicious, after all the Hero Academy was the premier training school for the country's most talented mages. The library should have information about everything.
So the whole afternoon Damien just went from shop to shop and talked to their owners or customers that happened to be nearby. Inadvertently he would always bring up the Church of Evernight in his conversations. Unlike at the academy, these people actually knew some things.
Of course it wasn't anything groundbreaking.
Mainly the fact that the church was considered abandoned and not many people went there. A few people would give donations, and sometimes they would go there for calming spells.
They didn't know much about Sister Elisa, but only that she was very powerful. When there were some thugs who wanted to take advantage of the fact there were only a few poor people there, and wanted to occupy the church, she defeated them easily and sent them packing.
But occasionally a few people would always come back to cause trouble.
This piece of information made Damien's mind think. This almost seems like a concerted effort to drive people away. But who would be so concerned?
The Church of the Everlasting Sun?
This was a bit troublesome, after all Damien was planning to make the abandoned church his main headquarters in the city. If the people from the sun god church came to bother them it would be a hassle…but considering that everything was normal so far, he didn't worry too much.
Anyway, there were not really any other options right now.
When it was early in the evening, Damien finally returned to the door of the abandoned church and knocked on the door. After a few moments it opened to Sister Elisa's surprised face.
"Mr. Damien? You're back so soon?"
Damien touched his nose in embarrassment. Actually, even if he wasn't planning to summon the succubus queen tonight, he would still come back. After all, Elisa's calming spell was very effective.
"I'm here for the Special Massage."
Elisa lit up when she heard that and quickly invited him in. Damien followed her downstairs and back to the bare room again.
Damien lay on the soft white bed, and after a few moments he quickly fell asleep listening to Elisa's quiet chanting.
When he finally woke up again, he realised that the room was empty.
There was a letter on the chair near the bed.
[Sorry, Mr. Damien, I need to go and buy groceries. If I am not back by the time you wake up, you can just leave the money on the bed, or you can wait for us to come back. I'll cook dinner!]
"She's quite nice…"
Damien didn't expect this woman who he'd only met once to be so kind to him. Then again, thinking of the fact that her favorability went up so quickly yesterday for a few silver, she probably just didn't want to lose a repeat customer.
Damien laughed, but he thought this was better. He had been thinking all afternoon about finding a good excuse so that she would leave him alone, but now he didn't need it.
Damien walked back to the iron door that led up above ground to the church and gently closed it.
He looked at the system and finally said:
"System summon the Succubus Queen."
