I was lost in thought when Nicky shook me.
"it's time for dinner ,"she says looking at me with a worried expression
"ok let's go ,"l say standing up
"What happened Savanna you're making me worried,"she says
"I'm still trying to figure it out myself Nicky even don't know what's happening so how can l explained it to you,"l told her
"You can start by telling me,what happened in Hunters room,"she say
"He had a big portrait of me in his room ,"l says
Her eyes widened."But how you only got here,"she says
"That's what l don't get ,"l say
"Why did he have a portrait of you ,did you ask him about him,"she asks
"We never got to that part,"l sighed
"That is weird"
"Weird does not even begin to cover it "I murmur
We ate on silence
Both of us deep in thought .I don't think l will be able to digest anything so l didn't eat too much just a bite
Nicky was done with her food so we were good to go
"Let's go "l say and we both stood up and made our way to our room
"Do you think you and him are connected somehow ,"she asks
"l don't know,maybe we are overthinking this ,it could be that l look exactly like that girl,"l say trying to convince myself
"Yeah or maybe it is something bigger than that ,"she says
"Maybe you're right but I'm not here to figure out some mystery,I'm here to learn about magic "
"Your call ,"she sighed
As soon as l reached my room ,l removed my coat and got under the covers
l stared at the ceiling as if it had some answers to my questions

l woke up gasping.

It was so vivid like a memory or something
l looked at the window and saw that the sun was up and it was my first day of class
Nicky was still asleep so l took the opportunity to use the shower first and get dressed
l was brushing my hair when l remembered that l promised to give Nicky a makeover
"Get up ,"l say removing the blanket from her
"Just two more minutes ,"she mumbled and fell right back into slumber
"We are going to be late ,come on ,"l urged
"Late for what,"she asks half awake
"Class ,"l say
She immediately opened her eyes and jumped out of bed
"Why didn't you wake me up sooner ,"she says rushing to the bathroom
"l didn't think you'd sleep this much and besides what's the big deal ,"l ask
"If we are late miss Miss Silvermist will punish us ,"she says

She got out of the bathroom and put on her clothes so fast l couldn't keep up with her
She dragged me all the way to the training room and opened the door a little too hard making everyone shift their attention to us
"Miss Rowan and Nicky late on the first day, classic,l will deal with you after class ,sit down,"she said and we hurried off to our seats
She started off where she left off and l would be lying if l said l was understanding anything.l make a mental note to never be late again
A few minutes later someone knocked on the door
l mentally celebrated because me and Nicky won't be facing the punishment alone
"Come in ,"Miss Silvermist shouted
The door opened and the last person l was expecting came in
"Hunter what are you doing here,"she was surprised as l was
The other students started murmuring among themselves I'm sure they had the same question as l had
"I'm here to learn,"he says
"Learn what ,"Miss Silvermist asked
"Whatever you're teaching,"he says with a duh tone as if it was that obvious
"But you are a vampire,"she stated the obvious
He sighed."If you must know I'm a hybrid, half vampire,half warlock ,my mother was a witch and l thought l should embrace all of me hence I'm here to learn,"he explained
"sit down on that chair ,"she pointed to the chair at the corner of the class and got back to what she was teaching
l felt his eyes on me the entire time making it hard for me to concentrate
