Alpha Caelen turned to me, his body tensed. "About the rogues, I'm with you. But about Ember's mother, I have nothing to say to you."
"Really? Is that so?" I arched my brows at him.
"Yes… there is nothing for you to know."
"Are you sure you want to push me out? I might be the only one who can help you. Tell me… who she was?" I probed further.
"Alpha Damon… I will not say anything about her to you. And there is no way you can help me," he spat out before sitting on a chair that had managed to survive the catastrophe.
"If you don't want to say anything about it, I guess there is nothing I can do… but you know Ember is different, right? She doesn't smell like a full werewolf… which means her mother wasn't a werewolf," I paced slowly around the room.
He grew more tense. I knew I was close to cracking the nut. "So tell me, if she is not a werewolf, is she a demon? A human? A witch? Or a fae?" My eyes were fixated on him as I tried to get the answer from his reaction.
