"No, absolutely not." Beldrum's words were commandeering and final, the weight behind them enough to cause even Varek to still his breath. "All three of us have seen everything that we need to see. Now, if you may allow us time to come to a decision, that would be greatly appreciated."
Varek spun to the back of the courtroom, touching Rivena and Revian at the same time.
"Don't worry, kid, we'll get through this," he said, convincing himself more than Revian.
"And how exactly will we do that?" Revian asked, the irritation in his voice enough to make Varek remove physical contact with him, "if you didn't just watch what happened in the last five minutes, I was caught in a lie, and our only real point of contestation was pinned as... domestic abuse?
