"Well, he loves me so much." Lily boasted.
"Wifey, did you hear that someone is already displaying their affection." Lily's father commented to his wife.
"I can't help it, Dad. You two have always shown me your PDA for the past 20 years. Now, I finally have a chance."
Lily said with a triumphant look on her face.
"Hubby, forget her, come eat this." Lily's mother said, smirking at her daughter and putting a dish on her husband's plate.
Lily's father ate the dish her wife served and complimented her, playing the role with his wife to tease her "Wifey, it's delicious. Eat this."
"Ugh, you two have started it again. Wait until I get my husband tomorrow. Then, I'll take revenge on you both. Hmph."
"Well, we will wait and see sweetie" Lily's mother said and winked at her daughter.
They continued chatting and teasing around. After dinner, Lily spent some time with her parents before going to her room.
After her grandfather's lunch, Eli left the hospital and went to the Allen Mansion.
The Allen Mansion was luxurious with a classic architectural style. The building was made of limestone and marble and had a central front door. The roof was gray and had multiple sections with several chimneys and dormer windows on each floor. The top floor had a large balcony. The front door was grand. The surrounding landscape was carefully manicured with a pool, gardens, and trees.
After he entered the mansion, her mother came to him. "Eli, why didn't you come back yesterday? Don't always stay in the company. It's not good for your health."
"Hmm, Okay Mom." Eli nodded and replied with his same indifferent manner.
"Have you eaten anything?" her mother asked.
"I haven't eaten yet" Eli replied.
"Go and freshen up and come down to eat." Her mother said. Eli nodded and left from there.
Eli's mother shook her head at his indifferent manner with everyone and went to prepare food for Eli.
Eli took a bath and went down to eat. By now, everyone in the family had eaten and gone to their rooms to sleep.
While Eli was eating, her mother informed him of Grandpa Allen's order. "Eli, your grandfather has ordered everyone to stay at home tomorrow. Will you take the day off from the company tomorrow?"
"Hmm." Eli nodded but said nothing. He ate his meal and went to his room to sleep.
He already didn't sleep yesterday. Now, maybe another night. How could he sleep when the person he was most looking forward to in his life was going to marry him tomorrow.
He lay on the bed and reminisced about every moment of their past life. How sweet they had been and how bitter they had ended. A tear slipped from the corner of his eye.
The phone on the lamp table next to the bed, started ringing in the quiet room and made Eli come out of his thoughts.
Who could be calling him in the middle of the night? Of course, It was Lily. A smile flashed on his lips after seeing the caller ID on his phone screen. He picked up the call and spoke in the most gentle voice. "Hello~" {Maybe if her mother heard his tone now, she would be flabbergasted to her core}
After going to her room, Lily lay down on the bed and tried to sleep, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't sleep like yesterday. Well, time had passed, but she had no intention of closing her eyes. So, she directly called the person who was the reason.
"Hmm" Lily didn't say anything and hummed.
"Can't sleep?" Eli asked her affectionately.
"Hmm" Lily hummed again.
"Why?" Eli knew that she was the same as him and couldn't sleep. But he wanted to hear her.
"Hmmm..." Lily hummed as if thinking about an answer and said, "Eli."
"Why is he the reason?" Eli asked her.
