Chapter 17 - Plan

"Let's take a detour and get out of here first." Cedric immediately responded with a serious expression and was about to run back before Kai stopped him.

Cedric thought that since Kai sensed the 1st Echelon Goblin Commander's presence, the Goblin Commander might also have already noticed them.

That's why Cedric asked to get out of there right away, as he knew just how terrifying a 1st Echelon monster was since he also played the game and had died to it once.

In his opinion, no matter how strong an unranked awakener, it was impossible to kill a 1st Echelon monster. Not even a few of the top unranked awakeners would be able to kill one since the difference between their stats was just that big.

Let alone with his current situation, in which there were only him and Kai. Even if Kai was really strong since he had a few level 24 monsters as his subordinates, it was still not enough for them to kill it, as there should also be a few level 24 monsters as its underlings.

"Wait… Don't worry, that monster hasn't noticed us." Kai said as he thought about something for a few seconds.

Cedric felt relieved a little bit when he heard it, but he still looked in that direction warily.

Kai sensed that there were several level 24 monsters beside the Goblin Commander, which actually would benefit him more than it seems.

Because he could level up from killing them and get stronger. Even though it wouldn't really make that much of a difference, it would still help him if he were to utilize it properly.

After thinking about it for a while, he looked at Cedric with a serious expression. "Follow me to take a look at the Goblin Commander so that I can assess its strength first before making the decision if we should take a detour or not."

"What?! Are you insane? That's a 1st Echelon Rank monster!" Cedric reprimanded Kai, thinking that he had gone insane and was full of himself.

"Don't worry, I know it better than you do. Trust me!" Kai smiled and waved his hand as he tried to calm Cedric since it was normal if Cedric was worried.

He then continued, "Besides, it's not like we don't have a chance to kill it if it's just the weakest kind of 1st Echelon Goblin Commander."

Cedric was taken aback when he heard it and looked at Kai with a solemn expression before asking him seriously. "Are you sure?"

"Even if it's not 100%, I'm pretty sure that we at least have a 50% chance. Depending on the situation, the chance might only go up and wouldn't go down." Kai said with a nod.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Cedric took a deep breath and finally agreed. "Alright, but I need to hear about your plan first before deciding if it's worth the risk to kill it or not."

Cedric even forgot about the option to take a detour since his mind was now filled with the big opportunity in front of him.

Because he thought that if they really had a high chance of killing it, he might as well not miss this chance, as he knew that the rewards would be pretty high if they were really able to do it with only just the two of them.

"Of course." Kai replied with a smile and thought to himself.

'What the fuck? He agreed that easily?'

Truth to be told, Kai was lying when he said that they at least had a 50% chance since the actual chance was probably at most around one-third.

Let alone the fact that the 33% chance would only happen if anything goes smoothly according to plan.

In reality, everything could go wrong, as there were too many possibilities that could happen, such as attracting the other monster because of the big commotion, etc.

However, even if everything didn't go smoothly, Kai was confident that they should have at least around a 10–20% chance, depending on the situation.

Naturally, the most important thing was that the Goblin Commander must be the kind that could be considered the weakest in the 1st Echelon Rank.

Otherwise, the stronger the Goblin Commander was, the lower their chance was.

That's why Kai wanted to take a look at it first and calculate their chance of killing it.

If their chance was less than 10%, Kai wouldn't do it, as he wasn't stupid enough to risk his life for something unnecessary like this.

Subsequently, Kai summoned all of his low-level undead goblins except the one that was bound to the Undead Space.

"Go spread out in the surrounding area and inform me if something happens." Kai ordered the goblins, leaving one level 9 Undead Goblin, as he put it behind Nana.

The reason why he put it behind Nana was because he wanted to leave Nana and the wolf behind.

And if something were to happen that required Nana and the wolf to go somewhere else, Kai needed someone to protect Nana and keep her from staying on the wolf's back.

Because even if Nana's legs weren't paralyzed, she wouldn't be able to stay on the wolf's back if it used its full speed, considering that Nana was just a normal little kid who was less than 6 years old.

"Nana, stay on the wolf's back no matter what happens, okay? I will be back in no time." Kai patted Nana's head softly with a warm smile.

"But, isn't that Goblin Commander too strong? It's already at the 1st Echelon rank!" Nana held Kai's hand and refused to let it go as she looked at him with a worried expression.

"Hmmph! So what if it's already at the 1st Echelon rank? The difference between us is just 1 rank, and we're also almost at the 1st Echelon rank too. Let alone I also have a lot of strong subordinates. Are you really looking down on your own brother?" Kai snorted and looked unhappy, pinching his little sister's cheek really hard.

"Ouch, it hurts!" Nana slapped Kai's hand away, glaring at her brother angrily while thinking about what her brother had just said.

After a few seconds, Nana nodded her head cutely as she put her fingers on her chin. "Now that you mention it. It makes sense for you to win since it's only 1 rank away anyway."

"Of course!" Kai chuckled and flicked Nana's forehead softly.

Kai then ruffled her hair with a smile. "Remember to stay on the wolf's back no matter what happens!"

"I know, I know. Ghost… You nag too much!" Nana pouted, puffing her cheek cutely.

Kai only smiled and shook his head before looking at Cedric, who was amused by the two siblings' interaction.

"Let's go!"
