Subsequently, Kai put 15 free stat points into Mana and 5 into Magic.

The reason why he invested the points into Mana and Magic was because he knew those two, aside from Agility, were what he needed most.

Since from strength alone, he wouldn't be able to match the Goblin Commander, and his only chance to kill it was by landing a direct hit.

However, even if the direct hit was coupled with the [Azure Slash] skill, he wasn't confident that it would be enough to kill it in one move, as its defense was extremely strong.

Let alone the fact that landing a direct hit on the Goblin Commander was a huge problem in itself. This fight was meant to be a bloody one, and he wasn't confident he would be able to kill it.

As he felt a slight increase in his mana, Kai took a glance at his new stats before looking at Cedric and putting all of his undead Goblin Captains back.

[Stats]: Strength: 67 (+45) / Agility: 98 (+40) / Physique: 64 (+25) / Sense: 33 (+20) / Mana: 62 (+20) / Magic: 46 (+20)

"Let's go!" Kai said.

As they almost arrived at the park, Kai slowed down his speed and summoned the three Goblin Captains they had just killed.

Afterwards, Kai directly went ahead toward the place where the 1st Goblin Commander was.

When they arrived at the corner of the park, Kai looked at the Goblin Commander, who was also looking in his direction in surprise, as it saw that its subordinates were there with them.

If the three Goblin Captains had been killed by them, it was already something that shouldn't have happened—but the fact that they were now following Kai was on a whole new level, which really made the Goblin Commander wonder what had happened.

However, all of its confusion was cleared the moment it heard Kai's voice.

"Hey, ugly bastard! They are now my—Kai's subordinates." Kai shouted and fist-bumped his chest.

He continued, "Now, I'm giving you a chance to become one too. Otherwise, I'll slit your throat and kill you now because I don't have much time to spare at the moment."

Kai said the last sentence as he made a gesture with his thumb running across his neck, paired with a wicked smile.

Looking at the extremely arrogant young man who threatened him, the Goblin Commander was furious that an unranked awakener dared to threaten it.

Subsequently, it roared and stood up, alerting all of the goblins in the surroundings, who suddenly stopped what they were doing and looked in Kai's direction.

Besides the 1st Goblin Commander, there were three Goblin Captains at level 24, around 20 normal goblins at levels 20–24, and more than 100 normal goblins ranging from levels 10–19.

Kai and Cedric immediately distanced themselves from the three Goblin Captains when they saw that, except for the goblins under level 20, the others were following behind the Goblin Commander, charging in Kai's direction.

The Goblin Commander naturally changed direction, charging toward Kai, while the others still went ahead toward the traitors.

When the goblin was 20 meters away from Kai and Cedric, Kai summoned the other four Goblin Captains and ordered them to attack as he moved at an extremely fast speed, heading toward the three Goblin Captains.

Cedric also made his move, charging toward the Goblin Commander but staying behind the Goblin Captains as if using them as his meat shield.

The 1st Echelon Goblin Commander, who was around a head taller than the Goblin Captain, plated in rusty scale mail, bellowed as veins throbbed along its emerald neck. Its roar was so savage that sparrows burst from the nearby trees.

But the Goblin Commander was trapped by the four undead Goblin Captains and Cedrics. All it could do was snarl orders.

"KREEE—!"

The twenty goblins at levels 20-24 surged toward Kai.

Looking at the twenty goblins that were just slightly weaker than the Goblin Captain at level 24, Kai's expression was solemn as he thought that it would be almost the same as fighting against around 10 Goblin Captains at level 24.

'No more fancy attacks and only attacks just to kill.' Kai tightened his grip on the Azure sword.

Kai was now extremely serious, as even a slight mistake could injure him, or even severely injure him, since he didn't believe that they could kill him in one attack.

Thinking about something, he slapped himself in the cheek and thought to himself.

'What the fuck am I nervous about? They're just low-level goblins. I've even faced more than a thousand enemies at once.'

Kai smiled helplessly, thinking that maybe because of his sister and family, his attitude in this life had changed since he couldn't afford to die and needed to protect his family, unlike before.

Bang!

The three undead Goblin Captains met the living head-on. Sparks showered as each side was trying to kill the other.

Kai did not spare them more than a heartbeat's glance. His own front was uglier.

The first wave was three goblins, each wielding a mace, sword, and spear. Kai's high agility turned his body into a blur. He stepped inside the mace's range, letting the iron head whistle past his ear, and used that forward momentum to flick his Azure Sword upward.

Click!

The mace-bearer's elbow vanished, lopped off like overripe fruit. The goblin howled as it dropped its hand together with the weapon. Kai then immediately finished it off by slashing its head cleanly.

The longsword goblin stabbed, making Kai spin and skip sideways before tapping the point of his own blade against the longsword's flat side—just enough to alter its trajectory.

The goblin overextended, exposing its ribs, and Kai took this opportunity by stabbing its rib before twisting his blade and instantly ducking.

Because the moment he successfully killed the second goblin, a spear was screaming for his temple.
