Chapter 7 - The Default user: tongue attack

A tall teacher wearing a long suit, well-polished hair. Why would he want to talk to a D-class student like him? And the tone that he used to call him just now doesn't sound so friendly.

"How may I help you, teacher?"

Snapping out of his thoughts, Solomon asked the teacher.

The teacher gave a weird gaze, he kept it steady, intense on him until he said, "Student Solomon, follow me. Just now you have bribed a teacher, and it is not good conduct."

Solomon wanted to laugh hearing such words. Why was it him that had caught the weird-speaking teacher's attention? Had he been watching him this whole time? Where was he standing?

Staring at the teacher for a moment, Solomon finally taking a step.

A step to follow the teacher.

The teacher turned around, leading the way, and Solomon's eyes stayed on the man's back until they got to a quiet place in the school.

Very quiet, hidden from anyone's eyes.

This is weird. Why would the teacher take him here instead of the office?

Solomon's eyes narrowed, and he now became alert, looking at the teacher—not taking him as an ordinary teacher that just knows how to look down on the lower class.

"Who are you?" Solomon's brow furrowed, his lips a tight frown, observing every bit of the teacher's movement or speech.

"Haha, nice question."

Came the laughter, weird, cold, chilling like the devil laughing.

Beads of sweat formed on Solomon's palm.

Creepy and super weird, like a monster in human skin—the description for this, it just came randomly to his mind.

"Boy, you smell of money. So much money. very rich soul coins."

Soul what? Wonders came to his mind hearing the rest of the teacher's words.

[The SSS-RANK Cashback Billionaire System was too negligent. Host didn't receive most of the information. This system didn't do its own proper information.]

[Host, you are in danger, host!

A default system user is right in front of you.

Enemy system rank: A

Skills: Soul Sucker

Goal: To take host's money-making luck, aka the luck that brought me to you.]

What was the system even saying? Solomon's body grew tense just by hearing the words that he was in danger.

He didn't calculate enough that the teacher would be a threat to him. Of course, his mind couldn't even cross that, because the system never alerted him early that the teacher was a default—here after him. His life. Someone about to take the life that he said he would make better for his family and rise to the top?

And he would be killed?

It can't happen!

"Kid, you are so silent like a corpse, but your body is so tense. Do you know who I am?" The teacher stared coldly at Solomon, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips the whole time.

What is this? Solomon had to ask himself because he couldn't calculate this person at all. It was his first time meeting with something so supernatural.

He was good at calculating. His family thought that he was weird because he always lived inside his mind most of the time. Not bragging, but his IQ was 2x higher than the average person. That's why even when five guns were pointed at his head, he didn't panic or feel fear like the average person, but instead went forth and deeply calculated a solution in his head before he calmly negotiated with the hitman that was about to kill him.

"Give me your soul coin, boy!"

Shrieking like a beast, the sudden loudness of the teacher's voice, his tongue stretching out long like a huge monster.

His adrenaline kicked in, Solomon's body made a flip, stumbling away from the teacher's attacking direction.

Dum dum, sweat.

His beating heart.

"System, how to survive?"

Solomon gritted his teeth, his eyes fixed on the teacher who stopped attacking but was grinning with tongue out and studying him like a prey—of course, which he was.

[Host, I have not told you, but the money in the system wallet can be turned into energy and you can use it to mutate—]

"Mutate?"

[Yes, host. Mutate just like the thing this man is and be of equal power to fight him… but the money in the system wallet is too small.]

"Too small?"

1M dollars was too small?

[The default user trying to murder you now has swallowed a billion-dollar soul coin, and so host—]

"Damn it," Solomon cursed in his mind. The attack of the teacher came again. Solomon, quickly Seeing the default attack coming, sprinting, his

Body went behind some iron bars hiding behind it to serve as obstruction to the large tongue aiming at him.

If this goes on, he may get killed. The system said the money in the system wallet can't evolve him, and the guy was in for his life. Was this giving up? No, he doesn't accept it. Better to try than die in vain.

The default user must have its weakness, right? If he just knows its weakness, it would be better—his chance of survival may increase by 30 out of 100%.

Although little, it's still better than nothing.

"System, what is the weakness of default?"

[Host, the heart. The brain is their most fatal organ, at least that's where most of the defaults choose to store their energy.]

The heart and brain… how can he approach the default and give weakness to its vital part?

Attacking means he needs to be close to it, but with the huge tongue poking out—the weapon against him…

Sweat sprang on Solomon's forehead.

"System, I want to absorb the money in the system and evolve."

Chances of survival are much higher when evolved than being ordinary.

The thought of evolving didn't scare him, it was life and death situation. His body and brain were working on instinct and serious calculation.

There was no room for fear when the bigger fear was the cause of losing your own life—any other minor fear was irrelevant.

[Converting system bills to energy initiated.

[Brace yourself. The energy will enter host body and initiate the evolvement.]

"Ok—" words cut short, for the default launched again.

Luckily again, Solomon leapt backward, escaping.

He was in awe with himself for a moment, that he didn't know he could do that.

Light blue and green energy kept entering his body. Him leaping didn't stop the energy from entering where it wanted to.

Hot—like getting cooked in a pot, the energy was to him. Solomon clenched his fist, refusing to shout.
