Another series that definitely deserves an award is Bridgerton. Best. Series. Ever. Even though season two wasn't really my taste, I'm still obsessed.
Okay, so I'm not a fan of the first Bridgerton brother, but all the other brothers? Yes, please. All handsome, charming, and just... wow. And don't even get me started on the Duke. That man has me on my knees. But if I had to pick a favorite, it's Queen Charlotte and then the Duke. Tell me they aren't pure art!
The author of Bridgerton? Remarkable. Impeccable. Brilliant. She gives me everything I want and more in a series.
Now, I'd probably read the books, but here's the thing: if I've watched the show, I can't read the book. And if I've read the book, I can't watch the show. It's exactly why I couldn't bring myself to watch Redeeming Love. I read the book, and it was everything.
Speaking of Redeeming Love, that book is one of my all-time favorites. It's huge, and yet I read it page by page, back to back. Same with Bridge to Haven. That author? Incredible. And you know what? Neither of those books had a single sex scene, yet they completely stole my heart.
And then there's Johanna Lindsey. Oh my God. She was my introduction to romance novels, and her books opened my eyes. I read her first book five times, and I still go back to it. It's timeless. She's amazing. She was my beginning.
Growing up, I spent all my money on books. I read so much. But now? It's a struggle. I think it's ADHD, honestly. I haven't been diagnosed or anything, but I just can't focus on anything for too long.
Books, movies—it doesn't matter. If you can't grab my attention in three seconds, you're done. But if something does manage to hold my attention for more than five minutes? Oh, I'm hooked. Completely addicted. I don't want it to stop.
Anyway, I'm so excited for Bridgerton! Even though they're not giving me the exact story I'm waiting for, all her work is brilliant and makes my year every time. It's the only series I've ever followed, along with The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Dork Diaries.
Speaking of Dork Diaries, I was obsessed. OBSESSED. If you love me, buy me the collection, and I'll never forget you. Ever.
I was so scared they wouldn't release a new season of Bridgerton this year. I almost had a panic attack, not even kidding. The withdrawal symptoms were real.
