It was around evening now, but they finally had gotten to their mission's destination,
Zallo village. After they had their quarrel about the race a woman who looked to be slightly older than them come over to them.
"Hello umm are yous the ones the Meka guild sent out to deal with the aether beast issue"
asked the woman in a confused yet curious tone with her arms crossed.
"Yes, we are the members sent by the guild" answered Honō with a gentle smile as he sipped his coffee.
"Ah good but we only sent that request in this morning how are yous here already?" Questioned the woman looking both Honō and Witz up and down.
"We are the best guild in the nation and promise to be there in a flash at a moment notice, also I'm Honō Hantā a B-rank member and this is Witz Meka a C-rank member"
explained Honō with utmost pride in his guild as he continued to sip his coffee.
"Wait Meka as in the current family leading Echilia?!?!" Exclaimed the woman putting her
hand over her mouth in shock and awe of the noble in front of her.
"Yep, I'm part of the Meka family but please skip the formal stuff, today I'm just a guild member on a mission" chuckled Witz as she placed new cartridges of purple liquid into her boots.
"Well, if you say so, oh by the way I'm Elena and I'll give yous the rundown of our beast
issue here in Zallo" said Elena now gesturing for them to follow her into the village.
As they followed her through the village, they saw the damage that the beasts had caused. Houses destroyed and the remaining ones packed with survivors. It was a terrific sight of what the beasts could do.
As they reached the centre of the small village Elena brought them into what seemed like the town diner. The place was empty everyone was out helping the repair efforts or treating the injured. Elena sat them down at a table and called to the bartender for some water to drink.
"It's terrible what happened here, but may I ask if you have any ideas on what kind of beasts we're dealing with?" Questioned Honō still calm after the sight he had witnessed in the village.
"No not really, they seemed to only come out at night though if that helps" sighed Elena saddened by her feelings of uselessness in the situation.
"Ah so they seem to be nocturnal, that helps us prepare now, thanks Elena" comforted Witz in a less childish tone then her usual self.
"No, thank you with your help we can prevent another attack" smiled Elena grateful for the
two guild members before her.
While Elena showed her gratitude to the two, the bartender came over with the three waters on a tray and placed them on the table before giving Honō and Witz a dirty look before going back to the bar.
"What's his deal?" Asked Witz in whisper trying to not let the bartender hear.
"Oh him, he's Moser. Don't mind him he just don't like ones from the capital, says they act all high and mighty for no reason or that they don't have to live in fear of beast attacks like the rest of us" answered Elena pouting at how Moser could be so rude at times.
"Ah I see, well I get where's he's coming from" answered Witz wandering if one day they could make the nation a place where no one had to live in fear of beast attacks.
"Well if that's all let's begin preparing for night than shall we, Elena you know the people here better than us and there'd be less prejudice that way, also could you set up lights around the edge of the village and make them bright as can be" stated Honō with a serious look on his face as he planned his hunt.
"Um yes, I can manage that, I'll start right away" replied Elena as she got up and ran out
the diner.
"So, what do we do Honō?" Asked Witz somewhat bored as she sipped her water.
"I'll make a perimeter of ice nodes and well
you do what you do best, upgrade this villages defensive measures and help rebuild the damaged buildings" spoke Honō with a gentle smile forming on his face as the plan came together.
As the talk ended, they each went to do their separate tasks Honō set up a perimeter of ice
nodes that would send electric signals back to him as to know when his prey would come, Elena set up the brightest lights she could around the village while Witz helped the effort to repair the buildings with her aether.
Their preparation for the hunt was finished as night begun to fall.
