It was about midday when Honō an hour after their agreed time, holding a cold coffee and an empty cup was finally greeted by Witz at their meeting point with only her main equipment that she brings on every mission.
"Sorry I'm late" spoke Witz while sitting down after trying to get her breath back as she had ran from the lab to the meet up spot.
"How come you were late, also your coffees cold" smiled Honō annoyed at Witz while also wandering what to do with the cold coffee.
"Oh, well if it's cold just bin it or something we're an hour behind so we have to get started on the mission as soon as possible" stated Witz ignoring to elaborate on why she was so late to begin with as started to put on her gear.
"Sure, Zallo village should be roughly north-west of here near the border, so it's about
a two day trip" Honō sighed, putting the empty cup and cold coffee in a nearby bin.
"Hey wanna race to see who gets there first?
You know have a bit fun to start of the mission" smirked Witz as she stood up after putting on a pair of high-tech boots reaching up to her lower thigh.
"I don't mind rac-" started Honō before Witz dashed past him before he could finish speaking, starting the race to Zallo village. Honō now walking in her direction out of
nowhere zapped into thin air leaving nothing, but the ground frosted.
Witz who was running full speed towards Zallo village out of nowhere was overtook by Honō in a flash of blue light. In a matter of minutes Honō had gone miles ahead of her. Another 2 hours after the race had started and they were already quarter of the way there to Zallo village.
At the three-quarter point in their race Witz decided to up the power in her boots by another 30% letting her speed up nearly double her speed before now allowing her to catch up to Honō.
"Hey Honō, worried yet that you might lose"
smirked Witz as she slowly passed Honō at the last stretch of the race
"Nah why would I, I've barely even started yet" replied Honō as a smile of confidence started to show on his face.
They were at the last 20 meters of the race when Honō in a blue flash of lightning disappeared in the blink of an eye and reappeared at the entrance to Zallo village. He was leaning at a wall with a fresh cup of coffee when he waved hello at Witz with a smile on his face.
"Cheater!" shouted Witz as she caught her
breath after her defeat in the race against Honō
"Oh, how come I'm being labelled a cheater now?" Asked Honō curious about how he had
supposedly cheated in the race.
"Uhhh, you got to drink your coffee, and I got none! So, you were fully awake while I was half asleep" Whined Witz as she folded her arms in a cute immature fit of childish pride.
"Sure, but aren't you the one who started the race before I was even ready?" Questioned Honō with a blank, dead expression on his face as he stared at Witz in the eyes.
"Mm-maybe … ok sooooo how about a tie then … heh heh" stuttered Witz as she nervously looked at the ground unable to look at Honō in the face.
"Sure, now how about we actually start this mission?" Asked Honō now with a composed
reassuring smile.
They both began laughing as they started to walk into Zallo village.
