Arin stood with his breath held. Maybe due to the sudden shock or due to the pain he felt whenever he took deep breath.
Thankfully, This place already reeks of blood and roting, Arin thought as he slowly sat down and checked his vital.

As he kept observing he noticed he was losing 1 HP every 5 seconds due to bleeding and he wasn't recovering his stamina.
This can be problematic, Arin tried to think of solution.
Maybe due to pain and fatigue, he couldn't think of any way. So, he just asked T.G for help
[You can use herb called FrostLeave Moss]
Arin quickly took it out and activated his talent skill to check.

It was the right herb. He pulled out box and cleaned his wound with his old cloth.
Next he took out chameleon hide and cut it into strips.
He chewed the FrostLeave Moss and applied it on his wound then wrapped the strips around his stomach.
I hope this works, Arin thought as finished wrapping. And I also hope, I don't die to some infection.
Arin drank some water and checked the remaining herbs. He just focused on the important part only.
[Rustroot Vine (Uncommon) - Can neutralize mild toxin]
[Sunlatched Flower (Rare) - Can help in restoration of health]
[Icebark Leaves (Uncommon) - Can be chewed to reduce fatigue]
He took little Rustroot Vine, few petal of Sunlatched Flower and few leaves of Icebark to eat.
It should be good for now, Arin organised everything to put them back in inventory and completed his thought, I hope, they don't conflict with each other.
He proceeded to crush first of the two orb he received from the rat.

After reading through information, Arin thought of some ways to use them and stored them in inventory.
Next Arin rested for an hour. Fortunately, no other rat came looking for its already dead friend.
He was starting to feel better and his stamina and and hp also started to get restored albeit very slowly.
He checked his vitals.

HP : 87/120
Stamina : 94/120
Energy : 74/140

He understood hp and stamina but his energy level only confused him. So, he asked the T.G about it.
"I can't even interact with my energy flow. So, how is it getting lower? Is my energy leaking due to my injury?"
[Partially Yes. Although you can not use your energy manually, you can use it through system skills. And you also use energy when healing or regaining stamina]
"How can healing use energy? Humans can heal naturally."
[Healing need energy to be turned into vital energy and that vital energy boost your healing and stamina regeneration]
Arin just nodded hearing the explanation. He was feeling too shit to care about it for now.
After resting another hour he decided, it's time to move. It will be dark after few hours so I should move down to scout and find some place safe to spend the night.
Arin gripped the railing tighter as he moved down the stairs, letting his weight shift slowly with each step.
Any sudden move still made his side pulse with pain, but pain was bearable now.
He didn't knew if pain was lessened or he just became accustomed to it.
Every 3 to 5 steps he would stop to listen.
Nothing.
No claw. No hiss. No teeth or breath. So, he kept moving down.
He reached the next landing and crouched behind a cracked half-wall.
A part of floor was open — a jagged hole where ceiling had collapsed inward, leaving only twisted rebar and a trail of dried blood on the tiles.
He tried to listened again. Still too quite. Nothing. He hated it.
They are down here. I know they are. Arin thought but there was no rat to be seen till now.
Arin kept moving but all he found was just empty room and hallway with scratched marks on their walls.
On one floor, he passed a hallway lined with what looked like gnawed shoes and scattered bits of fabrics.
He moved on.
Then he saw something—paint or old dried blood smeared across the far wall of stairwell, just above the exit to next level.
He stopped and inspected cautiously.
No rats. No sign of fighting. Only.... Passage.
He pressed forward, his hand on the wall, careful not to make any sound.
Just as he entered new floor, he started to feel very angsty.
The hallway beyond wasn't hallway anymore.
Pile of cloth, chewed paper and bones were arranged in a strange and ritualistic manner.
The walls were coated waxy substance that glistened under faint glow.
He crouched, his steps deliberate. At the far end of corridor a wide door hung open, bent at hinges.
Beyond it, A room expanded. Maybe a former lobby or a collapsed executive floor.
But now, It was a cavern of filth. And in the center, It slept.
A mound of fur and scarred muscle lay curled atop a heap of rotten furnishing and shredded insulation. A lot of bones were scattered around it.
It's body covered in bare patches, hardened scars forming a crown shaped ridges above it's brow.
It's tail was grotesque braid of dozen of necrotic, sinew bound rat tails.
It's mouth opened wide with each breath, revealing it's long yellowed teeth.
Arin swallowed empty air as kept staring at it. With no doubt it was the boss, he was supposed to kill.
As Arin kept looking at it trying to think for any idea. One of it's ear twitched.
Arin's body locked.
What the heck is this doing here? That is a boss monster for sure. I barely survived the minion, how am I supposed to kill that thing, Arin screamed in his head.
He was already feeling gloom with the thought of fighting just the rat minions but now he found he had to fight rat boss first.
Arin crouched lower barely breathing and started to think what to do next—Wasn't I suppose to fight with it's minions first and level up then fight it at last? Is it not the script that all games follow?
