"Aaaa… how could you do this to me, you b*tch?! You slept with that old bastard!" a man's furious voice echoed through the camp.
"You were never there for me! Not when I needed you the most!" a woman sobbed in response, her voice trembling with pain.
Su Chen, who had been half-awake and still wrapped snugly in his blanket, suddenly blinked.
The drama unfolding outside jolted his interest far more effectively than any cultivation technique ever could.
"Huh? A cheating scandal? At this hour? And I almost slept through it?!"
He immediately threw off the blanket, his laziness evaporating like morning dew under sunlight.
Still shirtless, he reached into his system storage with practiced ease, pulled out his upper robe, and used a wisp of qi to throw it over himself mid-motion. He slipped on his shoes with a speed that would make his past self question his own priorities, and briskly walked toward the source of the shouting.
"How could such a juicy scene happen without me there to witness it? What a waste that would be."
Soon, Su Chen arrived at the scene of the commotion.
To his amusement, the arguing couple turned out to be the same pair who had insulted the little boy the night before—the boy who had offered to sell them his tent, only to be scolded and called shameless.
Now, they were putting on a full drama performance in front of a growing crowd.
People had gathered around in a circle, watching the spectacle unfold with undisguised interest. Su Chen, always alert for familiar faces, quickly spotted the little boy from yesterday standing near the edge of the crowd.
With a casual stride, Su Chen slipped through the bystanders and gently tapped the boy on the shoulder.
"Oy, little one," he said in a low voice.
The boy turned around, startled at first—then his eyes lit up in recognition. Seeing the same mysterious young man who had handed him a high-grade spirit stone yesterday, the boy straightened up respectfully.
"Young Master," he greeted.
Su Chen nodded. "What happened here?" he asked, genuinely curious.
The boy leaned closer and whispered, "That man's wife slept with a Core Formation cultivator because he gave her some spiritual medicine. Now the husband found out and is throwing a fit, but the woman's blaming him—saying it's all his fault."
He frowned and added, "To be honest, I thought something was off about her yesterday when she refused to buy my tent. Looked like trouble."
Before he could say anything else, the boy blinked in confusion.
"Huh? Where'd he go?"
Su Chen had vanished without a sound.
The boy scratched his head. "This young master is really strange… always disappearing."
He turned his attention back to the drama.
Meanwhile, Su Chen had stealthily moved deeper into the crowd, hiding behind a taller man for cover. His eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Now then... let's add a little more fuel to this fire."
With a wicked grin, Su Chen prepared to stir the pot—after all, what better way to start the day than with someone else's scandal?
"It was your fault… You never supported me!" the woman cried, tears streaming down her face.
The man stood frozen. His anger, which had burned so fiercely moments ago, now wavered under the weight of her sobbing. Bit by bit, his expression softened, and he lowered his voice, guilt beginning to cloud his judgment—even over a betrayal he hadn't committed.
The crowd murmured quietly, sensing that the drama might be winding down.
Su Chen, hidden behind a tall cultivator, narrowed his eyes.
"Tch. They're about to make up? No, no. I came here for fireworks, not a reconciliation scene."
He took a step forward and casually muttered in a low but deliberate tone, just loud enough for the couple to hear:
"Tch, I swear... that woman's a gold-digging tramp. She even slept with an old man for a few spiritual medicines. Disgusting."
The words drifted through the air like a spark in dry grass.
The husband, who had just begun to calm down, suddenly exploded again. His face twisted with rage as he turned on the woman beside him.
"You bitch! I gave you everything—even my Foundation Building Pill—and this is how you repay me?!" he roared.
The wife, who had thought she was slowly taking control of the situation, snapped her head up in disbelief. Her expression changed instantly, fury replacing her tears.
She looked around in panic, realizing someone had said something—but couldn't see who.
"Who said that?!" she screamed, eyes scanning the crowd. "Who dared say that?!"
The people around looked just as confused. Some chuckled, others pretended to look for the source, but no one claimed responsibility.
And Su Chen?No body could find him due to outsider aura and he tucked his hands behind his back, looking like a completely uninvolved passerby.
"Heh… No need to thank me. Just doing my part for public entertainment," he thought with a smirk.
But she didn't get a reply. Once again, she turned toward her husband, eyes full of silent pleading, hoping to please him.
Before he could respond, a mocking voice rose from the crowd.
"Don't be fooled by that mouth," someone sneered. "Last night, that very mouth was crying out the old man's name… ghop, ghop."
A wave of silence fell.
Her husband's expression darkened. He looked at her with disgust, then without a word, shot into the sky and flew away.
Panic flared in her eyes, and she chased after him, desperate to explain.
After the two of them vanished into the sky, the crowd slowly dispersed, whispering and chuckling among themselves.
But Su Chen just stood there, arms crossed, expression unreadable.
He muttered, "Last night, these people were enjoying the drama like it was some kind of ghop ghop festival... Meanwhile, I'm over here, a dignified single dog, eating air."
He glanced in the direction they flew off, eyes narrowing. "Since I've got no one, every time I see a chance to break up a couple, I'm taking it. Call it balance."
A sigh slipped out of him.
"My only regret is not meeting that legendary old man. To make another man's wife scream his name like that... Tch, what a true expert. He could've given me a few pointers."
