Chapter 29 - world in chaos 1

Meanwhile, while Su Chen was immersed in cultivation, the entire world outside was descending into chaos—especially the Central Continent.

The Azure Cloud Sect, the Shen Clan, Tranquil Heart Temple… even powerful factions like the Radiant Sun Sect and Black Tortoise Gate were affected. And most notably, the Thousand Peaks Pavilion.

Although the major powers of the Central Continent had all suffered losses to varying degrees, none of them had dispatched their truly important figures. As a result, the impact remained manageable.

But the Thousand Peaks Pavilion was an exception.

It had not only lost a core elder at the Deity Realm but, more importantly, its Supreme Elder had declared a personal tragedy—his only son had perished, according to him, but in reality, he is world famous, the waste young master ye chen but due to supreme elder anger,The Pavilion was shaken to its core.

Thousand Peaks Pavilion.

Its territory spanned hundreds of miles, encompassing vast mountain ranges and spiritual lands. The sect housed over a hundred thousand outer sect disciples, ten thousand inner sect disciples, a thousand core disciples, and only eleven personal disciples directly taught by the elders and the Pavilion Master himself.

At the main entrance stood a colossal gate, towering and solemn, with the words Thousand Peaks Pavilion inscribed in ancient, flowing calligraphy. It emanated a silent pressure that reminded all who approached of the sect's legacy.

High above the skies, countless disciples were flying back at top speed, their robes fluttering in the wind, expressions tense. They were all returning to the sect on urgent orders—an emergency command issued personally by the Pavilion Master himself.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Something had happened.

Something serious enough to shake even the oldest peaks.

Inside the grand main hall of the Thousand Peaks Pavilion, eleven seats lined the elevated dais—ten for the core elders, and one central seat reserved for the Pavilion Master himself. Today, one of those elder seats sat empty, its previous occupant having perished not long ago.

The air in the hall was heavy with grief and tension. The faces of the gathered elders were grim, their expressions sharp and unyielding. Silence pressed down like a mountain, broken only by the cold, accusing voice of a half-aged man with streaks of white in his temples.

"You should resign, Elder Zhang Gufei," said Supreme Elder Ye Tianxiong, his tone laced with suppressed fury. He pointed a trembling yet authoritative finger at the man in purple robes. "Because of your negligence, you failed to verify a false rumor. That blunder not only cost us a core elder… it cost me my son!"

The atmosphere instantly turned colder.

Elder Zhang Gufei, clad in regal purple robes, scoffed and leaned back in his seat with a sneer. "What did you just say, you old dog?" His tone was sharp, mocking. "I already warned the council that the report might be fake. But your foolish son insisted on charging ahead like some hero. And because of that, you dragged a Deity Realm elder to die alongside that useless brat."

"You bastard—how dare you call my son trash?!" Ye Tianxiong exploded in rage, slamming his hand on the armrest as he stood. A suffocating wave of spiritual pressure surged outward—Peak Deity Realm, violent and uncontrollable. The main hall trembled under the weight of his fury. Even the sect's protective formation flared to life in response, shielding the structure from being torn apart.

Zhang Gufei rose as well, his expression dark and cold. His own cultivation flared up in retaliation, matching Ye Tianxiong's realm. The entire atmosphere cracked with invisible tension as two titanic forces clashed in silence.

"You think I'm someone you can bully, Ye Tianxiong?" Zhang spat. "Let me say it again—your son was trash. Everyone in the sect knows it. Hell, everyone in the Central Continent knows it. Seventy years old and still stuck in the Foundation Building Realm—what kind of joke is that?"

An elder on the side coughed lightly, beads of sweat already forming on his forehead from the sheer pressure in the room. Another subtly activated a second layer of formation protection, just in case the two titans really came to blows.

It was clear—this wasn't just a personal grudge.

"Silence, both of you."

A voice filled with overwhelming majesty echoed through the grand hall, carrying a pressure that made even the air tremble. The elders instantly turned their gazes toward the main peak and fell silent, not daring to utter another word. Even the spiritual pressure they were exuding vanished in an instant.

It was the voice of the Pavilion Master.

He wasn't just a figure of authority—he was a powerhouse in his own right. While the elders present were at the peak of the Deity Realm, the Pavilion Master had already stepped into the Cosmic Deity Realm. That alone placed him on a level they could only look up to.

This overwhelming strength, coupled with his strategic mind, was one of the key reasons their pavilion ranked among the top three forces in the entire Central Continent, standing tall among the Five Great Sects.

"This matter is not your fault," the Pavilion Master said calmly as he walked into the hall. A middle-aged man with sharp eyes and a dignified presence, cosmic energy flickered around him like starlight—undeniable proof of his cultivation level.

"From the intel I received, Ye Chen was approached by a beautiful woman. Shortly after that, he began insisting on launching a raid on someone in the God Transformation Realm," he continued in a serious tone, glancing at both of them. "I think she used some sort of demonic technique to control him."

"What?!"

Hearing this, not only the Great Elder and the Law Enforcement Elder but even the rest of the elders were furious. Someone had plotted the death of their sect members.

"I think we should launch a war on the Demonic Sect! Only then will those filthy bastards know their place! How dare they scheme against our sect?!"

One of the elders seated in the center stood up and shouted in anger.

Hearing this, most of the elders nodded in agreement, sharing the same thought. However, this did not include the Law Enforcement Elder, the Supreme Elder who had lost his son, or even the Sect Master..
