(Short chapter but I like it, when I wrote it I wanted to cry)
Watching Serika and Shiroko fall asleep, was so cute that I couldn't suppress a smile.
"You know, she's right that you're a stalker." I heard a female voice behind me.
"Gaia? What are you doing here?" I asked, turning around.
"What, I can't visit my wife?" she said, to which I pouted and answered her.
"That's not what I meant..."
She laughed and came up to me, stroking my cheek.
"Asmodeus, when are you going to tell her?" she asked me in a serious tone.
"Gaia... I can't, she'll hate me." I said in a sad tone.
"She's our daughter, she can't hate you."
"But... How do I explain it to her? I mean, tell her that there was a war that could have destroyed the multiverse? That she and her wife died in that war? That I accidentally separated them when I was going to reincarnate them together? Or that I killed her on purpose, depriving her of her human parents?"
"Asmodeus, she can be angry, and then she will forgive you. She and her wife are back together, even though they don't have memories of the billions of years they were together. You know that someday you will have to tell them everything
"Yes, but I want to wait with this." I said and looked again at the peaceful faces of Serika and Shiroko.
Forgive me for everything Shiroko, I couldn't protect you, and I also separated you from Serika, after death. I am a terrible mother. When I tell you everything, I will accept any punishment. You can beat me, you can pretend that I don't exist, or you can kill me, I will not resist.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek, which Gaia was taking.
"Gaia…"
"I know you are in pain, and so am I. But don't forget how kind and understanding our daughter is. Have you forgotten how scared she was when you fell off a chair when she was only 6. She was so scared, thinking that you were hurt, that she went to look for me and screamed "Mom is hurt." I was really scared then, hearing her words, I thought some external god attacked you and hurt you."
I smiled at her words.
"How can I forget? It was the happiest day of my life, to receive care from my daughter."
"Yes, you could immediately see who she loved more," said Gaia, pouting her lips.
"Really? And who did she run to for advice on love? "Mom Gaia, I fell in love, what should I do?"
"And you already wanted to go kill her future wife," said Gaia.
"And what should I have done? I was afraid that my girl had been taken over by someone," I said.
"And what did you think when you first met Serika?"
"She's cute…"
"But that didn't stop you from giving her a test," Gaia said.
I pouted and said.
"That's what every parent should do. And Serika passed my test with honor and dignity, proving that she's worthy of being in our family."
I saw Gaia smile softly, and her smile was too captivating.
"Do you remember their wedding?"
"Yes, I accompanied her then, it was both a sad and happy moment in my life," I answered with a smile.
"Yes, I remember how the two of them came up to me, asking for advice about the child, until…"
"The war began, which killed them," I said through clenched teeth.
"But that's in the past. "They are no longer in danger," Gaia said.
"Because we committed genocide against the gods and goddesses," I said darkly.
"Yes, in our rage, we destroyed almost everyone," Gaia said.
"I don't care, they dared to hurt my daughter, so let them burn in hell!" I growled when I felt a hand on my arm.
"Something much worse happened to them, they simply ceased to exist," she said smiling.
"I know, it's just..."
"It didn't bring our daughter back," Gaia finished for me.
"Yes."
"But she's fine now. She's doing what she always liked. Traveling and meeting new people." Gaia said.
She always knew how to calm me down, my loving wife.
"But Asmodeus, why did you appear to her as an old man when we first met?" she asked.
I looked down at my feet and answered.
"I was scared. What if she saw my appearance, remembered everything, and started to hate me."
"Well, well, I think I already said that she couldn't hate you."
"I know…"
"Well then, cheer up, we should be glad our daughter is alive and well. Maybe in a couple of decades we'll have granddaughters."
I grinned at her words.
"I bet they'll be adorable. The combination of Serika and Shiroko will look really cute."
"I agree. But still, you should tell her everything. Otherwise, she'll think you're a perverted god who likes to change genders." Gaia said, running her fingers over my hand.
"Yeah... Anyway, do you think I should give the knowledge to one of Shiroko's friends?" I asked
"Who?"
"How about that Kohta guy, from what I've seen he's a good guy who's crazy about weapons. He'll be able to create a weapon that will save that world." I said, enjoying Gaia's attention.
"Yeah, do it. I think Shiroko will like it. She's very attached to those people." Gaia said
"I hope so... Anyway, I think I should check that world for wormholes." I said
"Yes, and come back to me soon. I will wait for you, my love." She said, and pulled me into her arms for a kiss.
Her kiss always gave me strength, when I feel her taste on my lips, I can do anything.
Shiroko, someday we will all be together again, as one family.
I love you, my daughter.
All those who hurt you, who called you "the death of all living things," are now dead. They were just fools if they thought that some prophecy and fate had power over you.
Forgive me, Shiroko, for not being able to protect you, forgive me for separating you from Serika.
I am a terrible mother…
