Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: A Token of Love: Milalit

After playing around, it was already eleven o'clock.

Emily was so tired that everyone went back to their rooms to sleep.

Jehfrit was woken up in the morning by Mirajane and Emily.

He was sleeping soundly when he suddenly felt an itch in his nose, sneezed, and woke up.

Beside him, Mirajane and Emily were sitting like ducks, each holding a piece of cloth.

Seeing he was awake, Emily sweetly said, "Good morning, Master."

"Ahh..." Jehfrit was still drowsy. Seeing something close to him, he reached out and pinched Mirajane's toes.

He pinched them twice.

"Mr. Jehfrit, do you need a wake-up call?" Mirajane retracted her foot with a smile.

Emily was already scared and hid behind Ikuto.

"I'm awake!" Jehfrit was now fully awake and realized the magnitude of his mistake!

"Cough cough, get out, I need to change," Jehfrit said, praying inwardly that Mirajane wouldn't get angry.

"Mm." Mirajane didn't get angry, which made Jehfrit sigh in relief.

The girls left the room, and Jehfrit sat up. "Miko, help me change."

"Yes." Miko nodded.

"By the way, why didn't you warn me when they came into the room?" Jehfrit asked.

"You didn't tell me to."

"..." Jehfrit looked at Miko's feet.

Miko immediately lifted them.

"..."

Jehfrit took off his pajamas.

He finished changing and washing up.

"Let's eat breakfast outside," Mirajane passed by and said.

"It's still very early," Jehfrit said somewhat helplessly.

"...," Mirajane pursed her lips slightly.

"Alright, let's go," Jehfrit quickly said.

"Mr. Jehfrit," Ikuto said, "I'll take Emily to the school area."

Of course, they wanted to see Rade and the others at the school.

"Okay," Jehfrit nodded and said, "Everyone, arrange yourselves."

Natsu and the others also didn't plan to hang out with Jehfrit; even if they met on the street, they probably wouldn't play together.

"Let's go," Mirajane smiled brightly. She was especially lively today.

Before today,

Jehfrit had heard—shopping with girls was very troublesome, almost torturous. Even dogs didn't want to follow their female owners shopping.

He was prepared to endure this torture.

But he didn't expect that things weren't like that.

Of course, he knew he was an exception because the one beside him was Mirajane.

And Natsu... Gray...

Jehfrit had bumped into them several times, each following Lucy and Juvia.

Natsu was as tired as a dog, and Gray kept yawning while walking.

Mirajane didn't give Jehfrit any psychological trauma.

She was a careful person, and as long as she wasn't provoked, she was very gentle.

When Jehfrit showed signs of thirst, she would suggest buying water.

When he showed signs of hunger, she would buy food.

If he was seven-tenths full, she wouldn't force him, nor would she buy a lot of food that couldn't be finished and give it to Jehfrit.

The amount of food she bought was always just right.

When buying various items, such as clothes, she was very decisive, and surprisingly, everything suited Jehfrit's taste.

Watching Mirajane switch outfits, Jehfrit didn't feel annoyed; instead, he wished he could buy them all.

However, it was just a small impulse; he wouldn't pay for them!

Mirajane would also actively participate in various games she wasn't good at but Jehfrit enjoyed.

"Bad..." Jehfrit said with a strange expression, "Unexpectedly happy."

Approaching evening, Mirajane brought Jehfrit to a camera shop and gently smiled, saying, "Pick whatever you like, Jehfrit."

"Never mind." Jehfrit waved his hand; his camera was still usable.

Initially, he intended to scam Mirajane, but now, he was somewhat reluctant.

"What do you want?" Mirajane tilted her head and asked.

"Uh..." Jehfrit hesitated. Honestly, he hadn't thought about it.

"How about... I make a suggestion?" Mirajane tried asking.

"Go ahead."

"How about buying a dog?"

"Huh?"

"I saw a very cute puppy earlier over there." Mirajane looked expectantly.

"Let's go and see." Jehfrit said.

They arrived at the pet store.

What Mirajane liked was a dog resembling a Samoyed, about three months old.

As soon as she got here, she squatted down and played with the puppy. The puppy affectionately rubbed against her hand, seeking attention.

"How is it?" Mirajane stroked the dog's head and looked up at Jehfrit.

Under the sunset, the beautiful girl's expectant expression made it impossible for Jehfrit to refuse.

"Alright, let's get this one."

"Great!" Mirajane jumped happily. It was rare to see her adorable girlish side. She pulled Jehfrit's sleeve and happily praised, "Mr. Jehfrit looks so cool when he agrees!"

"Is that necessary..." Jehfrit laughed, "You're the one paying. If you want to buy it, there's no need to ask my opinion."

"How can that be? I said it's a gift for you, right..." Mirajane turned around, opened the cage, and picked up the dog. "Infrilit."

"Wait, what did you call it?" Jehfrit quickly asked.

"Infrilit, she's a girl," Mirajane naturally responded.

"Is gender the point?!" Jehfrit said, "Why call her Infrilit? It sounds almost like my name!"

"Doesn't it sound nice?" Mirajane innocently tilted her head and asked.

"I think Milalit sounds pretty good too," Jehfrit retorted.

"Hmph..." Mirajane showed a dissatisfied expression.

"Besides!" Jehfrit snatched the puppy from Mirajane's arms and said, "Even though you paid, it was your gift to me. I haven't even brought up how you tricked me with those discount cards yet!"

"Then let's split it. Milalit."

"Fine." Jehfrit nodded, rubbing Milalit's head and calling, "Milalit, be good, okay?"

"That's right, stay cute forever, Lit." Mirajane also said.

"Hmph!" Jehfrit snorted, holding Milalit and turning around. "Go pay, Miss Mirajane. Milalit, let's go."

Mirajane went to pay and received many freebies, such as a leash, chew toys, and dog food.

Jehfrit put Milalit down, attached the leash, and led her.

"Ah, you bought a puppy, so cute." They encountered Lucy again, with Natsu gazing at the sky behind her.

"Mm, her name is Milalit." Mirajane smiled.

"Huh?" Lucy paused and said, "This name..."

"Sounds nice, right? You must like it, Mila." Jehfrit immediately said.

"I think Lit is nice too." Mirajane also smiled.

"..." Lucy was speechless. "Is this dog gentle? Can I pet her?"

"Of course." Mirajane nodded with a smile.

Lucy immediately squatted down and patted the dog's head.

Milalit indeed had a great temperament and played along with her very gently.

"Ah, so cute!" Lucy couldn't help but exclaim, "Natsu, come look at Milalit, she's so cute."

"Yeah." Natsu squatted down and suddenly mischievously blew out a small flame, scaring Milalit into diving into Lucy's arms.

"You jerk!" Lucy angrily punched Natsu hard.

"Miss Mirajane, Miss Lucy, we meet again." At this moment, Juvia also approached.

"Ah, a puppy!"

Seeing Milalit cuddling in Lucy's arms, Juvia exclaimed and ran over.

"Let me see." Gray squatted down.

"Gray-sama, this is so cute. Let's get one too!" Juvia mentally added, "As a token of our love!"

"Troublesome." Gray said, then extended his hand, revealing a hint of coldness at his fingertips, and the next moment, an icicle shot out.

"Woof woof!" Milalit was frightened and hid back in Juvia's arms.

"Gray, you jerk!" Lucy punched him again.

"More and more people are gathering." Jehfrit said.

"Hmm?" Mirajane looked at him questioningly.

"Ah, a dog!" Wendy and Erza also arrived.

"What a coincidence." Mirajane laughed.

Another round of playful banter followed.

Jehfrit said, "Let's go to Mr. Edward's house; it's about time."

"Alright." Everyone nodded in agreement.

Then, Mirajane led Milalit, and the girls walked together. The conversation along the way revolved around Milalit.

Natsu and Gray came to Jehfrit's side.

"You actually want to keep a dog," Gray said, "Aren't you lazy and afraid of trouble?"

"Wrong." Jehfrit said, "I'm not lazy."

"..." Gray and Natsu thought: Stubbornness is another one of his flaws.

Jehfrit answered, "Anyway, I don't have to take care of it. When it's quiet, let Ikuto handle it. Let Emily play with it. If it gets noisy, just hand it over to Mirajane."

"That makes sense." Gray agreed and nodded.

The dinner hosted by Mr. Edward and Mr. Jude.

Few Fairy Tail members attended.

Laxus didn't come either.

Mainly it was Jehfrit and a few others.

Then there were Rade and the kids, none were absent.

During the meal,

Edward expressed gratitude to everyone, and they politely reciprocated.

Later, Lucy's father, Jude, said with some emotion, "Actually, investing in Fiore Town saved my life."

"Why?" As soon as Lucy heard this, she worriedly asked.

Jude began to narrate.

So that's how it was.

Before the Aharnita Town incident, Jude learned about a project.

This project was huge, requiring significant investment, with even greater returns later.

Jude had firmly decided to invest in this project, even if it meant taking on a huge debt. He wanted to take a step further.

Unexpectedly, the Aharnita Town incident happened.

He originally thought it would only cost a little money.

But upon arrival, he discovered that his daughter Lucy was involved.

Afraid of disappointing Lucy, he invested in Fiore Town's construction—in schools and other aspects.

All the funds were diverted here, and naturally, the other project fell through.

The one who obtained the project was one of his business rivals, leaving him with mixed feelings.

Little did he know it was a blessing in disguise.

A few days ago, he learned that the project failed, and his rival was even ruined, selling his estate and now working a job.

Jude was both relieved and glad.

He never expected this project to take off and help him avoid a big pitfall.

Thus, he became more dedicated to this project.

Upon hearing this story,

Everyone couldn't help but congratulate Mr. Jude—it truly was a case of good deeds being rewarded.

And Lucy also breathed a sigh of relief. She narrowly avoided going from a wealthy young lady to a bankrupt one.

Of course, she didn't intend to rely on her family. Even though paying rent every month was difficult, she remained self-reliant.

But she knew her father valued his business greatly. She couldn't imagine the severe consequences if her father had been the one scammed.

In short, it was a happy ending.

Everyone toasted and celebrated.

This time, Jehfrit proudly took out his gourd, poured wine into his cup, and deliberately raised it, showing off that he was drinking wine.

Lucy and the others were speechless.

To this day, they still didn't know what trick Jehfrit used.

But this gourd definitely had something fishy about it!

However, at this kind of event, they didn't expose Jehfrit.

Let him enjoy his moment of pride for a while longer.

Fake things will eventually be exposed!

The next day.

"Emily, you must study hard," Rade and others entrusted Emily, "Mr. Jehfrit's strength is very powerful. Having the chance to learn magic from him, you mustn't waste your talent and opportunity."

"I understand, Rade-onii-san." Emily solemnly nodded and looked at everyone, saying, "I will work hard and won't disappoint everyone!"

Then she continued, "Rade-onii-san, you must also work hard, everyone must work hard."

"Of course!" Rade and everyone nodded. Everyone cherished the opportunity to learn.

"Then goodbye." Emily said with a sob, unwilling to part.

"Goodbye, Emily. Don't cry, be strong." Rade said, "Besides, it's just a day's train ride. When we have time, we'll visit you."

"Mm-hmm!"

Emily cried as she returned to the train.

Seeing this, Mirajane moved aside.

Emily then rushed into Jehfrit's arms.

Jehfrit comforted the little girl by patting her head while thinking inwardly.

Emily was ready to start learning magic.

He could sense that Emily had crossed the threshold in controlling magic power.

Although she hadn't finished reading all the books and still lacked some knowledge accumulation,

she could be guided to start.

Otherwise, if he ended up trapped on Tenrou Island for seven years, Emily's time would be wasted.

"Emily, after we return, let's start learning magic," Jehfrit said.

"Master!" Emily looked up, wiped her tears, and stared at him in shock and anticipation.

"Congratulations, Emily." Mirajane said.

Ikuto was also full of joy. She believed Jehfrit's magic was very powerful, and now that Emily could learn, it gave her a feeling akin to getting into a prestigious school and having a bright future.
