Chapter 14 - A strong neighbourhood

"How's she here?! How are you so strong already?! What level are you?! Why do you have that artifact!?" There were several questions and she shot them all in succession so quickly that KiRA was caught off guard for a moment.

He had just cleared the rest of the creature and walked to the central area where she had dropped to her knees after exhausting all her energy.

She was tired, she was panting, and yet there were stars in her eyes.

"Calm down, Miss, will you? Calm down and breathe a little first." KiRA sat down before her, a smile present on his face.

Seeing her using those old powers confirmed it for him. She had also obtained skills similar to what she used to have in the game.

Also, since the skill that she possessed was pretty unique, the fact that she had it made things simpler for him– now there were many things that he could do with her.

"Haaaa… huuuu…" She took some deep breaths, her purple eyes fixed on him. He looked well, there weren't any visible wounds on him either so this made her feel more relieved.

She knew him well so she knew he must have done something crazy again. Besides, if they were talking about the manifestation of the tower, she knew for sure this bastard of hers was up to no good right now.

"Alright talk." Sitting down comfortably and gesturing to everyone that she was fine and that they could look after the clean-up, she retired her gaze to him.

Everyone also left the couple alone since they knew him, as well as about their special relationship.

They had been waiting for KiRA for a while, and seeing how he dealt with all those creatures in an instant, all of them felt much more relieved.

"Welcome back, big brother Kai!"

"You were sooooooo cool, big brother!"

"What is that thing, big brother~? Is that an item that big sis mentioned~?"

The children greeted him from above, shining stars present in their eyes as well. Seeing him in action was the coolest thing they had seen in a while.

"Hello everyone. How about we all talk in a bit? As you can see, your big sis isn't going to let me go before I tell her everything, right?" Seeing all these children safe and sound was one reliving scene for him.

But Isah didn't want any disturbance right now so she shot cold glances at the naughty children of her neighborhood and shooed them away.

It was funny for the elders, seeing their beloved General store owner like that, so they simply chuckled and left the young couple alone.

"So…" And then, KiRA told her everything that he had done after the tutorial– from how he cleared the special dungeon, what rewards he got for clearing the Tower of Beginning, as well as how he had Unity right now.

But, there was something that surprised him. Something he had somehow expected to see in this changed world…

"You don't remember anything about the tower past the 54th floor? Not even the things I told you about the other floors?" KiRA was surprised to find Isah in this state.

They had talked about him clearing the tower, but she did not remember anything like that.

She knew they played the game but she could not remember anything about the tower past the last floor that they had cleared. The same was the case with the others from her neighborhood.

Those who knew about the tower but did not play the game didn't know anything about it anymore.

"Causality…"

"Right? What else could it be?" He had expected a phenomenon like this, so for now, he placed it to the side.

He looked around himself instead while Isah played with the cute bird she had been close with in the past.

"Nice…" As KiRA looked around him, at all the people that he knew already, he knew he had made the right decision by coming here.

'The hood has some crazy strong geezers and ahjussi.'

The old neighborhood was located in an older part of the town and the people that lived there were mostly retired older people or those who had served in the military for a long time.

Including Isah's mom and dad who ran a general store in the area, the people here had seen things that most adults in the main city area might not have.

They knew how to work in these kinds of situations. The younger people here, the children of the elders, were also people who had at least learned basic combat from their parents.

Since there were good leaders here, and since many of them had seen the cruel side of the world, the people who had awakened as Players, even the younger ones and the older ones in the area, were not small in number.

They had held back their own against the waves of tutorial monsters, and with the help of all the strategies that Isah might have developed, they were able to save everyone without any casualties.

"Damn… look at that number, wow." Is was looking at his status window right now, obviously surprised by the amount of IX that he had right now.

It was unbelievable.

"Even though we also got a rank final evaluation, the difference in rewards is so obvious!" She was kind of angry, and kind of jealous right now.

He was obviously far ahead of her right now. But, that was obvious considering how much he knew about this whole situation…

"Wait, you have more skills than me? Damn!" Still, she wasn't all that behind him either.

============

She did not have a passive breathing skill before and this time, she did not have her special skill to convert one kind of power into another either. What she did have though, was Mana.

A special power that gave proof of her natural affinity for the Breathing force of the tower.

The three other skills that she had were something that made her very special, the main skill that she possessed, the power that earned her the nickname [Witch of Duality] within the tower in their game days, being the most unique of them all.

'I have to get back my skills, but she could work with just these for the time being.'

There was also no way for them to get her special skills within the initial few floors of the tower. Which meant focusing on what she had right now was more beneficial for her.

"You're going, aren't you?" He could not work with what he had right now. He needed at least one of his main powers back.

And since he had chosen [Purity] above the other stats, Isah knew what he might be going for.

"You know it already, dear." He was at the right level already.

He could not delay it any longer or else it would be too late and, if he missed this opportunity, he won't be able to get that particular power before the middle floors.

So…

"How about we go back home for now? I should meet up with everyone before I live, right?"

If he left without seeing her parents, he knew he would be in trouble when he came back here… so, meeting them was more important right now.
