"Keriiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
A scream that could shake the very soul of a living being resonated throughout the ground floor hall of the Cathedral.
-Swish! Swish! Swish!
The source of these screams were spectral monsters called [Guardian souls], spirit monsters with no physical bodies of their own.
The creatures were present throughout the dungeonized building. They were especially present where the objective items, the 69 holy items, were located.
"It's not going to work again! Get back!" of the eight people who had been here for a while now, the government officials who arrived the earliest and possessed specialised combatants possessed the most number of items.
The players had to deal with monsters that did not have a physical form in this dungeon. The players who only had physical powers or skills related to physical aspects were not much use here, making the dungeon a house for the magic using players.
Or at the very least, the players who possessed skills that contained the use of Mana.
-Ooooooooooong!
[Skill: Fireball (Lv:1) has been used.]
The government officials' party contained two mages and a swordsman that had a skill to cover the sword with energy– not Mana but simple bodily energy.
It wasn't the peak of swordsmanship: [Aura]. it was also not the [Innate Qi] of a being, the normal players would not know how to form a [Qi core] at this stage of the game.
The three individuals were the only available help that could do anything within this dungeon. And with all the information gathered through their network, they managed to collect six of the thirteen items that had been found till now.

The three of them fought together, covering each other's backs. It was taking them quite some time to deal with the creatures, but with their good teamwork and official training, they managed to survive in this dangerous place.
"There's no loot this time either. The drop rate for the [Spirit Orbs] is so low…"
"We are still doing well. Let's keep going… this is going to end soon."
Since no one knew about each other's current levels, everyone was avoiding confrontations. Even though they knew about the other people's presence, while two of the nine were waiting for everyone to finish so that they could kill them and steal all the things they had on them, the remaining four did not have foolish thoughts like that.
"Keriiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
"Keriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
"Oh shut up!" There was a woman who dealt with the spirits by herself, a woman who possessed a skill that covered her sword in darkness attribute, something that made the process of dealing with spirit creatures much easier.
[Darkness] and [Light] were higher attributes within the [Wheel of Elements]. To spirits being like these guardians, these attributes were more lethal than Fire, Water, Warth, or Wind attributes.
Of the twelve attributes contained within the Wheel of Elements, these five were the major attributes that the Players could possess at the moment of awakening. But still, possessing a higher attribute was the same as possessing an advantage that the others did not have.

"I should level up soon. Level 10 is not far now, Keke." The woman walked away with the 15th item and a smirk on her face.
[You have obtained the item: Spirit orb.]
She obtained a drop item for the first time, making the grand total of the items she possessed five.
It was a great loot. Compared to the Twins who barely had any drop items on them, she was ahead of them at least in this aspect.
Still, she had seen them a while ago, and she knew the two possessed four Holy items on them.
She was currently stronger than them, but neither of the parties knew the cards that they had up their sleeves, making both the twins and this Dark Swordsman a dangerous opponent.
The Twins were on the highest floor right now, the most difficult floor to be on. The Dark Swordwoman was on the floor right below them.
The government officials were cleaning up the ground floor, while the ones waiting for the ambush had fixed their positions in places without any Spirit guardians.
They knew they could not deal with those beings, but they could very well deal with humans if they played their cards right.
Assasination was always much easier, quick, and more rewarding than traditional combat.
But that's where they were wrong…
[{ "The reason some of these places don't have any spirit guardians is not because there's nothing to guard here, but because of the intense holy properties of the items that prevent even those guardians from approaching them." }]
Hiding in the shadows, looking at a seemingly empty corridor, KiRA looked at the two red dots present on his MiniMap.
[{ They're pretty good at hiding, hehe. Just like a mosquito~! }]
One was here, the other one was where KiRA was going right now. Both of them were in his path, so he decided to deal with them first.
He was obviously going to be covert with this operation. He knew the rest of them would run up here if they caused any commotions.
The spirit guardians would gather here if something happens as well. And he wanted to leave the Auto hunting for later…
[{ "Alright, let's go Uni." }]
There were Six items that belonged to the Holy St Pullev in this Cathedral. Two of them were hidden items that weren't part of the 69 that the players could find.
One of those two was here. The other one was outside of the Cathedral that he'd get right after he got all the other ones.
The 69 items were connected to the one that was outside, while one last remaining item, the main objective of his visit here right now, was something that he would obtain at the highest floor of the building– not the place where the twins were right now, but a level above that.
He was getting the one here first. Then he would deal with the other players covertly, and take the items that they currently possessed.
'Oh, right.'
The plan was ready and so were his golden strings.
'Almost forgot this.'
So, covering his face with [White mask] a consumable item worth [1000 IX], he walked in the corridor, and vanished the very next moment.
-Shrrrr…
Wearing black clothes and hiding using {Stealth} the basic skills of
Her eyes were sharp as she observed each and every movement from the higher ground.
The government officials below and the woman with Dark powers above. She knew about both of them and also how both of them were loaded right now.
One good ambush and everything they had would be hers. She looked forward to it as she breathed slowly.
"Your breathing is too loud." But little did she know, right beside her, there was a dark figure wearing a blank white mask.
"Take a nap."
-Tak!
She did not understand how someone could get so close to her without her noticing. It was even more surprising that she could not perceive the presence of this person– of being– even though it was right beside her.
-Thud.
But, she did not have any time to process what was going on when she perceived her eyes losing the light within them.
Following the impact to her neck, Darkness covered her eyes instantly and she fell unconscious, all the sensations of the world vanishing with her consciousness.
'One down.'
That was one, and following right after the first one, the masked assailant moved to the ground, his presence, even as he stood right there in the middle of the corridor, unknown to the male Assassin hiding with his Camouflage skill.
KiRA was pretty impressed to see it. He could tell it was no normal skill… Alas the person wasn't using it for the right thing.
"..." He hid with an unimaginable proficiency, not even making breathing sound like the women.
He had already known about her as well, but he stayed in his place, using his skill better than the amature thief.
That did not mean his future was any different from that woman though.
"You should join the people below." A strange voice whispered right in his ears out of nowhere, making his jerk his head to the side.
"...!"
He saw a blank white mask as soon as his eyes registered something, as well as deep red eyes hidden behind the mask.
-Tak!
He may have perceived the eyes, but the very next moment, he also felt his eyes losing all light on them, and his head getting cloudy.
"Who…?"
-Thud.
He managed to utter a single word in an extremely weak voice before he fell to the ground though, the thoughts of a demonic presence being his last moments.
'So then…'
The two were down now, so, without caring much about the bodies for the time being, KiRA moved forward, and stood before a painting that seemed no more special than the rest of the paintings present in the entire Cathedral.
'This is it.'
The others did not know it, but this used to be the Saint's beloved painting not because of the semi-naked Goddess depicted within it, but because of a certain Lady that was shown as her servant…
