Chapter 72 - Bagon in the Forest

"Bewear!" That Pokémon was trying to commit suicide!

Seeing the Pokémon's action, Bewear was startled.

Carver was also initially startled, but he quickly came to his senses.

This was the ecological behavior of Bagon as a species!

Bagon, the Rock Head Pokémon.

Due to the influence of certain information in its genetic code, it always dreamed of soaring through the sky and would jump from high places every day to practice flying, using this method to train its body.

Until the moment it grew wings and could soar through the skies.

"Don't worry, Bewear. That's Bagon's unique training method," Carver said.

Hearing this, Bewear looked closely and indeed saw that Pokémon's head crash into the ground with a loud bang, creating a large crater in the ground.

Yet it itself was completely unharmed.

"Bewear..." Bewear was somewhat amazed. There were actually such Pokémon in this world—how incredible!

But the next second, it saw that Bagon frantically struggling, constantly flailing its little short legs.

Its hard head was stuck in the ground and couldn't be pulled out!

Carver: "..."

Bewear: "..."

It took back what it just said.

Carver casually glanced over, and that Bagon's information appeared before his eyes.

[Pokémon: Bagon]

[Gender: Male]

[Ability: Rock Head]

[Moves: Leer, Ember, Bite, Dragon Breath, Headbutt]

[Status: Healthy]

[Mood: Anxious, Frantic]

[Joy Level: 0]

[Friendship: 0 (You don't know each other in this world)]

[Description: Stupid head, come out already! —Bagon]

After struggling for a while with no results, Bagon seemed to give up resistance. The entire dragon was powerlessly stuck in the ground, with only its bulging belly constantly rising and falling.

Only then did Carver step forward, pretending not to have seen what just happened, and said with feigned surprise: "Oh? How is there a Pokémon here?!"

Hearing someone approach, the Bagon that had stopped struggling began struggling violently again.

"Don't worry, we'll help you right away!" Carver grabbed Bagon's two little short legs and pulled upward with force.

Seeing this, Bewear also hurried forward to help.

With their combined effort, there was a pop sound, and Bagon was finally pulled out, falling disheveled on the ground.

The rescued Bagon had a cluster of black lines floating above its head, representing its current frantic mood.

Bagon stared intently at this unfamiliar human and Pokémon before it.

These two guys must have seen it embarrass itself just now, right?

If this got out, how could it, Bagon, continue to mix on this path?

This one must not be allowed to live! This thought flashed through Bagon's mind.

But soon, it remembered that these two had saved it.

Suddenly, Bagon's inner feelings became even more complex.

In that case, it would magnanimously spare them!

Bagon turned around, preparing to leave this place where it had lost all dignity.

However, just then, it suddenly heard the human behind it speak.

"Wait, Bagon. Come with me!"

Bagon was stunned. It turned back and let out a low growl from its throat.

"Bagon..."

"Come with me. I can help you become stronger, let you evolve into Salamence, grow wings, and fly into the sky. How about it?" Carver attempted to communicate with this Bagon.

Hearing these words, Bagon narrowed its eyes and momentarily forgot about its recent loss of dignity.

This human wanted to capture it?

Flying into the sky...

This condition sounded very tempting at first.

But was it the kind of Pokémon that could be captured so easily?

Bagon looked the human up and down. After a moment, its throat let out a battle-ready roar.

A small dragon's pressure was released from its body, seemingly already having the rudiments of intimidation.

"Bagon!"

Bagon assumed a battle stance.

If you want to capture it, prove your strength to it!

Seeing this scene, Carver was slightly stunned.

But he quickly reacted.

Bagon wanted to have a Pokémon battle with him!

This was the main method most trainers used to capture wild Pokémon!

"In that case—" Carver looked at Bewear beside him: "Let's go, Bewear!"

With the little master's command, Bewear naturally stepped forward without hesitation, standing opposite Bagon.

"Don't use full power first. Let me see its strength!" Carver said quietly.

This Bagon was planned to be cultivated as a main Pokémon according to his plans.

This first battle wasn't just a capture battle where Bagon wanted him to prove his strength, but also a key battle for both sides to get familiar with each other.

"Bewear!" Bewear responded.

The battle officially began!

Bagon started with Dragon Breath. Purple, scorching breath gushed from its mouth, sweeping toward Bewear.

Compared to Bewear, even though this Bagon trained very hard, there was more than just a small gap in their strength levels.

Facing this Dragon Breath, Bewear tilted its head slightly and easily dodged it.

Seeing this scene, Bagon seemed to realize the opponent was a strong enemy.

But there was no fear on its face; instead, it became excited.

"Bagon!"

Flames surged in its mouth. This time, Bagon used Ember attack!

Looking at that flame, Carver nodded satisfactorily. Good, the power of Ember looked acceptable.

From the proficiency of the Dragon Breath and Ember it had just used, this Bagon had obviously trained specifically!

"Intelligent, a Bagon that pursues strength," Carver's evaluation of it surfaced in his mind.

Bewear again dodged that Ember. Seeing that ranged attacks didn't work, Bagon directly abandoned long-range attacks and instead lunged toward Bewear. White light surged from its hard head as it charged fiercely at Bewear.

Headbutt!

"Alright, Bewear! Let's finish this!" Carver had roughly understood this Bagon's situation and said to Bewear.

Hearing this, Bewear no longer hesitated and directly met Bagon with a Hammer Arm.

The two moves collided, and Bagon's small body unsurprisingly flew backward, falling on the grass and losing its fighting ability.

Carver took the opportunity to pull out an empty Poké Ball and threw it at Bagon.

The Poké Ball automatically opened, and a red beam of light flew out, wrapping around Bagon's body and drawing it inside.

"Clang clang!"

The Poké Ball fell to the ground, its body gently shaking as the central button flashed red light.

Once, twice, three times...

"Clang!"

Then it completely quieted down.

This meant the capture was successful!
