Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Divine Senses!

Extra Chapter (For Completing 1800 Power Stones.)

….

Flamebright City, being a bustling metropolis, remained brightly lit even at night.

It wasn't just because he had obtained a Gnosis, but influenced by it, as Elliot walked down the street, everyone, regardless of who they were, couldn't help but look his way.

If it was a man, they'd glance and look away. But if it was a young maiden experiencing the first stirrings of love, she would stare at Elliot's face, lost in a daze, only snapping back to reality after he had walked past.

Elliot shook his head. He hadn't expected the Gnosis's influence to be so strong.

Even some very young girls, with snotty noses, would be drawn to his divine aura and stare at him blankly. It made him quite uncomfortable.

"It must be because I haven't fully mastered control over my divine power yet," he judged internally.

When Kumoko first gained her Gnosis and became Shiraori, she lost all her previous powers, becoming weaker than an ordinary human and even getting sunburned easily.

While Elliot wasn't as helpless as Shiraori was initially, he was still unintentionally leaking some divine aura, affecting those around him.

The ideal was to be like an Evil God. That Evil God D had lived in the human world for so many years under the alias Wakaba Hiiro, yet no one ever discovered her true nature.

Or consider Venti and Zhongli they lived among ordinary people completely unnoticed. That was a mature god!

Stepping into an inn, he saw a pretty young woman with freckles sitting at the front desk.

In Western cultures, freckles weren't considered ugly; in fact, they were often seen as a unique and charming feature.

Just like how in Japan, some girls' slightly misaligned teeth were considered a mark of beauty. So, this freckled girl was quite attractive by Western standards.

"Hello, are you looking for a room?" As she looked up, she suddenly found herself speechless, captivated by the face of the man before her. She remained in a daze until Elliot's voice broke the silence.

"Yes, an empty room, please," Elliot said, his voice calm and neutral.

"Ah... L-Let me see... There are two left. May I ask if you are..." The young woman stammered, struggling to speak clearly, but Elliot quickly replied.

"Just give me any available one, thank you." Elliot offered a slight smile. Though it was just a polite, business-like smile, it instantly made the young woman's heart flutter.

After paying the deposit, Elliot went up to his small room in the attic, leaving the young woman behind, her heart still pounding, unable to calm down.

Once in his room, Elliot took Kumoko out of the backpack. She was currently in a deep sleep. If her evolution was successful, she would become an Arachne a young woman with a human upper body and a spider lower body.

Kumoko, in her human-like form, would be far more beautiful than girls like Lilith or Anna whom he'd met today.

Human-form Kumoko was an absolute peerless beauty: skin whiter than snow, a tender, delicate face, rosy lips like dewdrops, a cute, upturned nose exquisitely beautiful yet pure and holy, like a snow lotus untouched by the mortal world.

Definitely a city-toppling beauty. Compared to her, those noble offspring seemed like common rouge and powder.

More importantly, Kumoko, after transforming into human form, would, as expected, have white hair. And everyone knows... people from his original world had a thing for white-haired characters. Elliot was no exception.

Placing Kumoko on the bed, Elliot knew that even as a god, he shouldn't interfere with her evolution, lest some strange mutation occur, like Agumon digivolving into SkullGreymon.

Then, Elliot began to try and master his own divine power. He had possessed it for too short a time and couldn't yet wield it with perfect control, causing him to unintentionally leak some of it, affecting others.

So, while the Queen Taratect hadn't arrived yet, he needed to properly regulate it.

Just as he was trying to control his divine power, a group of unwelcome guests arrived at the inn. They were all adventurers from the Adventurers' Guild.

"Adventurers" was a loose term; the profession was a mixed bag.

Many ruffians, loafers, and good-for-nothing freeloaders also registered with the Guild and called themselves adventurers.

A dozen or so men, wielding various weapons, barged into the inn. Their fierce and menacing appearance scared away many customers who were about to come in for a rest.

The young freckled girl at the inn's front desk had never seen such a scene. Her voice immediately dropped several octaves.

"We... We don't have any vacant rooms. If you want to rest, please go to another inn." Oh no! Seeing these armed adventurers, the freckled girl knew they were looking for trouble.

Sure enough, they showed no intention of leaving.

"Heh heh..."

"Little miss, we're not here to rest."

"Someone from the Adventurers' Guild posted a quest. Said someone in this inn is carrying a magical beast. As righteous adventurers, we can't allow a magical beast to harm the guests of this inn!"

"We hope little miss won't be uncooperative and hinder our normal adventuring activities." They grinned lewdly at the freckled girl.

The person who posted the quest had not only given very detailed clues but also offered a reward they couldn't refuse.

No one expected that simply searching for a magical beast would come with such a high payout.

A monster that could be brought into an inn probably wouldn't be too big.

How strong could such a monster be?

This quest was practically tailor-made for them! So, as soon as they accepted the quest, they rushed over without delay.

"Oh, right. The person carrying the magical beast... he looks like this."

When one of the adventurers pulled out a portrait of Elliot, the freckled girl's face instantly turned pale...

Meanwhile, upstairs in a certain room, Kumoko was in the most critical stage of her evolution. Her body had become translucent and was now cocooned in silk. When she emerged, she would be an Arachne half-human, half-spider.

Suddenly, Elliot's eyes snapped open. He looked towards the distant horizon. With the enhancement of his Gnosis, his senses could now extend incredibly far. Could this be the "divine sense" often mentioned in cultivation novels?

In his perception, the Queen Taratect was already less than thirty li (about 15 kilometers) from the city. She was advancing with overwhelming force, crushing everything in her path.

Nothing and no one could stop her. Soon, a massive human-spider war was about to begin!

Just at that moment, his room door was violently kicked open!
