Serpentine didn't make a move until five hours after the king summoned her.
She took her time dressing up and donning on her crown which she rarely ever wore. Although the goal was not to look attractive for anyone, but for herself.
And only when Syria announced that the king was having supper with Thalara and his children did she begin her journey to the king's quarters. After all there was no delightful drama like the sudden appearance of a queen who normally stayed away from the public eye like she feared contracting a deadly plague.
She breezed in without waiting for the chamberlain to announce her, and the sight that greeted her was the climax of a family drama over undigested supper. Seeing as it was not a particular sight she was used to, she found the view quite enthralling.
