Sai was not pleased with what he heard. He planned to avoid Lucas at all because of what happened before he regressed. "So, you're going to train him too? Aren't you supposed to focus on me only?"
"I apologize for your highness but it's the duke's order. I cannot-" Sai cuts him off and he stands in front of him.
"I am the crown prince, so I hold the highness position here! So why would you take some order from the duke!" Sai was clearly not happy about it.
But then the duke came out of nowhere. "I apologize for interrupting, your highness. But I got permission from your father, the emperor. Whether you like it or not you will be training together with Lucas."
"My father agreed to this?" Sai cannot believe it.
Keiphe nodded as a response. "Yes."
There was silence between them. Sai doesn't want to train with Lucas. It's not that he hates him. He feels guilty from what happened from his past lives. He deceived Lucas and made Lucas do something inhuman.
"Why do you dislike it so much, your highness? You haven't gotten to know Lucas yet." Keiphe asks Sai to break the silence.
Sai hesitated to answer because saying his reason would reveal his identity. "I'm sorry I overreacted." Sai thought that he should act like his age to escape this situation. "I just don't like to share my master's attention. I'm afraid that Lucas would steal my master and I like being alone… I'm not used to having a friend…"
Keiphe felt pity for the crown prince. "I understand, your highness. I have forgotten that you're only a child. It is reasonable to act like that." Keiphe then pats Sai's head to comfort him. "Do not worry your highness. Lucas is not a bad kid. You two could get along fast and besides Lucas doesn't like the spotlight so he won't steal anyone from you."
Sai already knows that. Lucas was the kindest person he had met from all the lives he had been. He knows Lucas from the bottom of his heart. He knows it and he doesn't want to break Lucas again. It is true that Sai has this grudge against Lucas because he killed his sister at the end. But Sai knows that it is his fault that Lucas made that decision.
"I'm sorry duke. I will try to get along with him." Sai said, smiling at the duke.
Keiphe smiles in return. "Don't worry Lucas will surely like you. You two are only one year apart so it will not be hard to get along."
"Lucas is a good kid, your highness. I have taken care of him before. I am sure that he won't be a hindrance to your training." Asher added to the duke's statement.
"If that's what my master says… then I will allow Lucas to train with me." Sai said shyly.
"Don't worry your highness. I will share my attention equally." Asher said that to reassure Sai.
Sai just smiled at them. But he still feels anxious; he is scared that the same thing might happen again. But then Sai saw someone picking at the door. It was a young man who looked like the duke.
"Ah Lucas you're here. Just in time. Lucas, come inside and introduce yourself to his highness." The duke opens the door for Lucas.
"I greet his highness the crown prince. I am Lucas Kindlevale." Lucas put his hand on his chest and bowed as he introduced himself.
