Chapter 5: An Unexpected Transmigration
Hoàng Hải Vân stirred and woke up, her mind in disarray. She must have been too exhausted last night, so she climbed into bed and fell asleep. The heavy resentment in her heart must have caused her to have nightmares. But why did she only hear mournful cries echoing in her ears?
She sat up and looked around. The entire room was filled with men dressed in black suits, all kneeling. Some were weeping sorrowfully, but the most heart-wrenching cries came from a woman beside the bed.
This woman was breathtakingly beautiful, with delicate features, a V-line chin, large eyes framed by long lashes, full alluring lips, and a frail, vulnerable demeanor that instantly evoked a man's protective instincts. Even the sorrowful white mourning attire she wore could not diminish her striking beauty. Strangely enough, she bore a strong resemblance to the boy Hải Vân had met the previous night.
She stood up, staring at them in bewilderment before blurting out:
"Who are you people? Where is this? Where are my parents?"
Immediately, the crying ceased. Everyone's faces turned to shock and horror, as if they were witnessing a corpse coming back to life.
The woman stopped crying, and after a moment of stunned silence, she rushed forward, hugging and caressing Hải Vân.
"Ngọc Linh! My child, you're awake! Thank the heavens! My precious baby!"
Hải Vân felt unbearably ticklish and instinctively pushed the woman away, taking a few steps back—only to collapse onto the bed. Her blood pressure must have just dropped.
The room buzzed with murmurs:
"This is bad! The young master has lost his memory!"
"There has to be a way to cure him."
"At least he's awake. If he didn't make it, who would continue the family line?"
The chatter made Hải Vân's head spin. They called her 'young master'?
She pinched her thigh a few times, testing if this was a dream. The sharp pain told her it was all real.
She quickly got up and approached the mirror in the room. To her horror, the reflection staring back at her was the very same boy from the night before.
Could it be?
Last night wasn't a nightmare… and today isn't one either.
She had truly transmigrated into the boy's body?!
A while later, a doctor entered, carefully checking her pulse and breathing before smiling.
"This is a miracle! The young master has come back to life."
The woman, still frozen in place, looked at Hải Vân anxiously.
"But he doesn't remember anything! Has he really lost his memory?"
The doctor packed up his tools and replied,
"When he was at the hospital, we couldn't find any injuries on his body. We had no idea why he stopped breathing and why his heart stopped beating. And now, we have no explanation for why he woke up. As for his memory loss… even modern medicine can't fully explain it. He will need to be monitored and treated gradually."
